yes yes he is very special!!!!! we have so many positives to look fowarded to so fuck it that we are 3-8 this season

  • Andre said:

hell yeah ninerfaithful i agree but im not done to see the positives we can make and the progress we can do this year….theres nothing better than when you actually see that your team is fighting and trying out there like they did agaianst the cardinals….both games! We played as a team….we keep that up and we will be a force in this league soon to come!

  • 49ersfan77 said:

willis is awesome 52 rocks GO NINERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

ANDRE you are exactly right we did fight till the end of that game !!! and i think if we use that game as something to build off we can get alot acomplished go niners kick some panther ass on sunday cause i hope to 4-8

mad man you have some issues you would like to discuss with class mother fucker ?
dont come in here and post up shit like that you cock sucker.

  • Lowrance said:

It’s nice to finally have some positive with our team. Keep it going Niners!

  • unknown niner said:

We would have lost the game if we didn’t have him. Maybe Michael lewis could have stopped the WR from getting the touchdown, but willis ran 60 yards down got to him first. 18 TACKLES that’s ridiculous. HE could be our defense.

  • ninerfaithful4ever said:

its nuts to think this guy is only a rookie. could you imagine him in the next three to four years!
Dam i think he is going to be way better than ray lewis i mean hell he has more tackles already this season

  • jerry said:

I will say that Patrick Willis is the man.But he wouldnt have over 100 tackles if our offense could make plays like yesturday.

  • Tim said:

Willis being special should be a given. We should find out who thinks otherwise.

  • AXEGRINDER said:

I said it before the first preseason game that Willis will be defensive rookie of the year. This guy’s a fucking animal. I can’t recall when I’ve seen a linebacker chase down a wide reciever. And Willis doesn’t go for shoe-string tackles, HE WRAPS PEOPLE UP!!!

Fundamentally, and character-wise, Willis is the model of what a middle-linebacker should be.

On a different note, I’m surprised that Dilfer only had a 44.1 QB rating. I thought he played a pretty decent game. I don’t necessarily buy into that quarterback rating bullshit.

  • Billy said:

Yes we all know that Willis is SPECIAL!!!!!!!! Too bad we cant say the same for Alex…

  • LG said:

I was at the game last weekend against the Cards and Willis was impressive. Gore was running and catching the ball like a mad man…It was good to see that by getting some offensive help would make a difference, duh Nolan! What a great concept!?? How many more games did the Niners had to lose to figure that no brainer out?

  • Big M said:

Axegrinder, Dilfer had a 99.9 rating. He had a 44.8 the week before. Not sure where you got that stat.

About the Captain Obvious Picture you posted with this… I think you missed the point, Niner Pundit. That kind of complement from a Hall of Fame middle linebacker turned coach means that he thinks Patrick Willis is going to be one of the all-time greats to play the game. He may be our Ronnie Lott… if Clements doesn’t fill that role. He will definitely be better than Ray Lewis. In fact, no MLB has ever had that kind of speed, and the only other linebacker who might be comparable in that department is Manny Lawson. That’s including speed-guys like Derrick Brooks, Cato June, and Brian Urlacher.

  • samra said:

true willis is special but he only has so many tackles because he’s on the field about 57-62 (if not more) percent of the game and second Manny Lawson isnt out there… if Lawson was it would be a foot race to make the tackle…i just hope lawson doesnt have a post injury season like Julian Peterson, tony Parrish, Eric Heitman, Andre Carter, Eric Johnson and so many others did

  • JNova80 said:

He’s up for rookie of the week.

Hey Big M…you wouldn’t happen to have a list of people that you might see the niners pursuing in free agency this year would you? Do you see us going after Faneca??

  • Big M said:

Honestly, Ryan, I haven’t even looked at FA. Since I don’t get paid to do any research and don’t really have the time, I’ll wait for the guys who do get paid to do that, and I’ll offer up my opinion when the time comes.

Here’s what I know about the FA picture right now. I think that two guys we should be able to re-sign are Justin Smiley and Kwame Harris. I thought Smiley was for sure a goner after the year, but he had a pretty bad contract year, then a season-ending injury. I’d be really surprised if another team was gonna go crazy to spend on him. Harris just hasn’t gotten much better in the past few years so I see us re-signing him as depth. I think this gives us a pretty good line. If that plays out, we will probably pursue a tackle for the future, so that we can slide Snyder inside, and replace Heitmann with Baas at center. Our future line could look something like this: LT Staley, LG Smiley, C Baas, RG Snyder, RT ???… but as far as next year, I think it will be LT Staley, LG Smiley, C Heitmann, RG Baas, RT Snyder. I think that gives us great blindside pass protection and a pretty good right side to run on.

  • Medford said:

Willis is the man!! Hopefully he gets that bear claw off his hand soon.

A REAL BIG SIGNING WAS THAT OF RODRECK GREEN THIS GUY IS A PASS RUSHER I CANT BELIEVE NOLAN CUT HIM AND TOOK SO LONG TO GET HIM BACK.

  • Ryan the 1st said:

So, Big M, you DO think they will cut Mr. Glass??

  • Big M said:

I’d be a little surprised if they didn’t. Nolan was really harsh on Smith about playing with a separated throwing shoulder, so I don’t see how he could have any lenience for a guy who he overpaid to get who doesn’t like to play with injuries.

  • McNolan said:

the guy in the pic looks like a skinny don vito,

  • mike said:

play hill wr play kwame rg play robo more play

vd is 4.35 stiff dj porous finger alex smith go see your doctor till season end, and will come out 8—-8. Good old tolner call more of those have no fear we are behind you SIR,.

  • AXEGRINDER said:

Big M, I’m not sure where I got that stat either. Maybe thats why I was surprised when I read it.

  • Ninerfan81 said:

With Adrian Peterson out hurt for the past few weeks it is very possible that Willis could not only be the Defensive Rookie of the Year but the overall Rookie of the Year!

    Is that possible?

  • madman said:

Willis is a Stud Manny Lawson is a bum.

  • Medford said:

Dont give up on Manny Lawson yet madman he looked good until he got hurt.

  • hyphyniner said:

yeah…defense got a little weak without Lawson’s speed and physical game….come on…jevon kearse who can run with tight ends?..on first and second downs…GREEN and LAWSON on the ends then WILLIS and MOORE inside…whew..next year…when that slow dumd retarded SMITH retires..

  • Jeff said:

The 49ers should consider putting Vernon Davis as WR (the big playmaker they have been looking for) and get the ball in his hands more. They then should find next year a big, blocking tight end (lots of them out there) who might catch 2-4 passes a game—this will also improve the running game.

  • 49ersfan77 said:

go vote for willis on nfl .com hes in a tie with some packers rockie at 39% so help him out hes the man vote for gore too go now and help your fellow NINERS vote for the niners to go to the pro bowl too!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!GO NINERS!!!!!!!!

  • samra said:

hey ninersfan77 other than patrick willis, joe staley, bryant young, and nate clements no other NINEr deserves the pro bowl…Frank
Gore doesnt have pro bowl stats but i say he deserves it based on his capability and the o-lines underperformance

  • Ryan the 1st said:

Am I wrong to say that Jason Hill is starting to look a little bit TOO injury prone. He has been injured the entire year. WHAT THE HELL DID HE DO because he has been on the injury report all year for SOMETHING!!! Either he has something serious or he is the second coming of DJAX!!!

  • Ryan the 1st said:

The guy has NOT been reliable at all this year. We used our third rounder on him…he should be able to bring SOMETHING TO THE TABLE!!!

  • Medford said:

I agree with u Ryan. Ur team needs Wr right now and where is hill on the bench nursing a sore practice Hamstring. Man it up Hill and play or u will get the boot next year.

EVERYONE SEE FAVRE GO OUT SHOULDER AND FOREARM INJURY TONIGHT. LETS SEE HOW LONG IT TAKES HIM TO COME BACK. THEN WE WILL KNOW HOW MUCH OF A WUSS ALEX IS..

  • Eric said:

Gore won the Ground Player of the Week and Willis won the Defensive Player of the Week on NFL.com!
The voting is still going for Rookie of the Week, and Willis is leading 42% to 38%. Let’s get him a few more votes to seal the deal! This will be his 3rd time this season getting the award… the most of any player.

  • Jeff said:

Oh no! Even Aaron Rodgers looks better than Alex Smith. Did we blow it again!

  • Big M said:

Medford… Favre separated his LEFT shoulder. They’ll numb it if he plays next week. Jeff… Aaron Rodgers is in a developed offense with a solid line and really good receivers. There is no comparison.

For nicknames I like Protegè, since he’s being tutored by one of the best MLBs, Hall of Famer (Mike Singletary). Barring injury, he could possibly be one of the best MLBs ever.
