Where Did James Go?

Submitted by James Jones on Thursday, 2 October 200816 Comments

Please forgive my lack of updates this week or lack of anything really. I am in the process of making my move back to California this weekend. I forgot how many loose ends there were to tie up when moving to another state. This, coupled with the fact that the Dodgers are in the NLDS against the Cubs and have taken Game 1 has made the latter part of this week extremely busy.

That being said though I have not really chimed in on the Saints game and with good reason… that game was one of the worst I have seen in some time and that’s really saying something given the last few years of Mike Nolan led football. The offensive line was atrocious and I have to agree with my esteemed colleague Niner Pundit in wondering how offensive line coach George Warhop is still gainfully employed after the disaster that was this game.

Things are not looking to get any better with the New England Patriots coming to the Bay… how in the world the 49ers were so blatantly thrown under the bus but the football Gods is beyond me. Not only are they facing a juggernaut of a team (even without Tom Brady at quarterback) but they are doing so after this team was handily defeated by one of the worst teams in the league AND after they have finished up their bye week. Undoubtedly giving head coach Bill Belichick ample time to prep his men for battle against the now suspect 49ers.

Nolan had better be doing some serious planning for this game if he hopes to not fall to 2-3 on the season and give even more reason for fans to call for his head. Although with the Arizona Cardinals playing Buffalo this weekend chances are the Niners will still be tied atop the NFC West with a loss anyway.

I plan on posting more once I make my move back home and get my internet up and running everyone, please bear with me during this time. Have a great weekend and GO NINERS!!!

James, this Pats team is far from being the “juggernaut” they were last year. I believe they rank 28th in total offense and 28th in Defense. That might be a little off but they were just discussing that on the radio this morning. The point is Brady makes a BIG difference. Cassel isnt shit and has trouble throwing deep to Moss and this team just isnt the same. They did have a bad game against the Saints but thats expected to happen atleast once in a long season. Im not giving up hope yet, im sure they studied film and made adjustments. On a day where they will retire the great #8, im sure they are gonna come out fighting!

  • joe gomez said:

BTW.. what was your take on Paraag Marathe in the coaches booth in charge of telling Nolan when to challenge plays?

  • joe gomez said:

Greg Manusky, the Niners defensive coordinator was asked this morning on why he successfully blitzed in the 1stQtr against the Saints and all of a sudden they stopped. His answer was, “because the Saints had GREAT receivers.” Guess he thinks Lance Moore is GREAT. What a fucking idiot.

  • Adam49 said:

Well Lance Moore was great in that game. And i like Manusky.I dont really think he’s the problem on defense at all.No matter what the game plan or what the call is the players have to exucute. If the players cant execute when we dont blitz i don’t thimk theirs gonna be a differance when we do blitz.Alot of people are putting way to much blame lately on the coaches. They have to be held accountable just as much if not more.We got beat deep on plays that were designed to protect us from getting beat deep. That’s not a bad game plan that is poor execution. This lose was on the players, not the coaches.even on seven step drops woth 6 and 7 people in to block, the Saints still got pressure. That’s poor execution not a poor game plan.

  • joe gomez said:

Yea he had a great game, but for Manusky to say the Saints have GREAT receivers? Even you said it Adam… Lance Fucken Moore?!! Gime me a break, hes a nobody that our defense made look good. The only point I was trying to make was if the Blitzing works, why the fuck would you want to stop?

“I’m really trying to figure this whole thing out.”

I’m fresh out of college and I’m still in that college mode.

These are quotes from our 1stRd pick Balmer. This dude better get his head out of his ass real soon! Fucking waste!

  • Forensics187 said:

Relax Joe, we really don’t know what we have with Balmer yet. He’s only a rookie and we don’t need him to play yet. Look what a guy named Mario Williams did his first year, look at him now.

  • ninerfaithful said:

watch it forensics me and joe discuss the balmer stuff last week and i was told to fuck off i didnt know anything its just sad we all can give our opinions on a web site that is a one big opinion

  • joe gomez said:

Understably hes a rookie. A rookie who was selected very high in the first round of the draft who by the way is still in “College Mode?” He better get the fuck off college mode and start thinking NFL or its Not For Long for him. He had the OTA’s and mini-camp to get out of that college mode. We need some fucking help on that line and all im saying is Rachal AND Balmer need to step up. Fuck next year, we need them THIS year!

  • joe gomez said:

Ofcourse meaning Rachal on the O-Line which also needs desperate help. If Sims gets thrown around like a ragdoll again we better make some moves.

  • Adam49 said:

So much for the dodgers gettin killed in the first round.lol

  • Lowrance said:

Does Bob McKittrick have a son? I’m sure his genes could coach better for our OL.

as for the rival Dodgers…. GO CUBS (even that’s painful to say)

  • Forensics187 said:

Its all love on this site boys, I mean we all love the same team. I’m just saying I would prefer McDonald and Smith on the ends over Balmer this year anyway. The O line does look terrible, but isn’t that how Martz system works, Kitna got teed off on too. Its all about the system.

  • Lowrance said:

I agree with the system part. I did watch Bolger get sacked over and over because the routes take time to develop. But poor Simms is looking alot like Kwame!
If the tight end or back is going out, please have him at least clip a rusher on the way out, unless he’s the main speed receiver route, like a deep route to VD.
Obviously JT has not perfected defense reading. As for playing time, he’s still in his rookie stages. Doing well when he has time. But how long can we wait? We get tired of waiting. Give him blocking PLEASE.

  • crazydave said:

i don’t care about this team much any more, been with this team since 1994 and for 6-7 years been same ole stuff lots of promise with nothing but losing.maybe we just start kneeing the ball at the beginning of the games just to show every team how pathetic our team is no offense with penalties and turn overs i don’t care how many sacks or interceptions or yards we have its still losing that kills me and this team has been good at it since the Eric Dickerson years.

    O SHIT WE LOSE AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!
