Shaun Hill Traded for Camp Fodder
The 49ers traded Shaun Hill to the Detroit Lions for a seventh round draft pick in 2011. So for those out there who thought Shaun Hill was actually a good QB and was worth something, well now you know.

Mike Singletary wasted no time in naming the starting quarterback for this weeks game against the Indianapolis Colts.
Mike Singletary and Co, have a little bit of thinking to do after the loss to the Texans. Starter Shaun Hill was pulled after another horrid performance for backup Alex Smith who came in and got the team back into the game and almost pulled out a come from behind victory.
The 49ers lost their third consecutive game of the season 24-21, but they didn’t make it easy on the Texans, well at least not in the second half. The first half was all Houston. The 49ers offense couldn’t do anything.
Today browsing the articles talking about the 49ers. I came across a great write up by the Santa Rosa Press Democrat’s Lowell Cohn. The article was titled, ‘49ers shouldn’t forget Alex Smith’ and I have to say Lowell Cohn nailed this one.
The 49ers shutout the St Louis Rams for their third win of the season, after beating down the Rams the 49ers are now 3-1 on the season and 3-0 in the NFC West.
There’s no denying it, quarterback Shaun Hill wins games. They may not always be pretty, but when the game ends and the “W” is on your team’s side, does it really matter? He may win, but he likes to leave us fans in suspense. I’m referring to the interesting fact that Hill’s [...]
The competition is over. The starter has been named. And yet, the certainty that should come with such a decision does not. The 49ers QB situation in the short-term has been solved…
So this is what a fair quarterback competition looks like huh? Remember last year when Mike Nolan claimed to hold an open competition between Shaun Hill and Alex Smith…
Monday Morning Punter is back, okay well technically it’s Tuesday, so this week we’ll just act like it’s Monday.
Dan Arkush of ESPN is reporting that Mike Singletary isn’t sold on Shaun Hill. Here is what Dan had to say.
The 49ers’ decision to so quickly announce that Mike Singletary would be retained surprised nobody. Same goes for the unveiling of 27-year-old Jed York as the team’s president before kickoff of the Niners’ season-ending victory [...]
For the second straight week the 49ers overcame a double digit deficit to win the game. Amazing the turnaround this team made this season under Mike Singletary. If Nolan were still there none of those victories would have happened. With this victory Mike Singletary becomes the first coach with a winning record since Mariucci and [...]
Edit: Below is what I wrote with about 7 minutes left in the fourth quarter. And reading everything below, most of it hasn’t changed to much, but let me edit by saying for 54 minutes the team played like crap, but in six minutes they changed a lot. Oh and I love Josh Morgan. Funny [...]
Shaun Hill is now 5-2 as a starter and Mike Singletary has coached this team to three wins out of there last four meetings. If those two figures aren’t enough to keep both in the same positions next year, then I don’t know what is. Here are some of the rumblings going on around Ninerland [...]
