Niners Finish 8-8 Behind an Offensive Offense
Niners finish the season 8-8, despite an offense that started shaky and really didn’t put up points until the 4th quarter. Thank goodness the defense played well and the Rams suck.

The 49ers got an ugly win against the Cards to start the season. It wasn’t pretty on the offensive side, but they pulled out the win. Here are my picks for Beasts and Bitches of Week 1.
For the second straight week the 49ers overcame a double digit deficit to win the game. Amazing the turnaround this team made this season under Mike Singletary. If Nolan were still there none of those victories would have happened. With this victory Mike Singletary becomes the first coach with a winning record since Mariucci and [...]
Here are Beasts and Bitches for Week 3. The 49ers beat the Lions 31-13 to improve to 2-1.
Amazing isn’t it. 49ers scoring over 30 two games in a row. Thank you Mike Martz.
Training Camp has started and the 49ers have a couple practices under their belt. So far Nolan hasn’t had them practice in pads, not sure why maybe he’s hoping the NFL switches to flag football this season.
Here is a quick rundown for the latest Monday Morning Punter. The Bears are crying, Jackson’s cut adds money, no word on Spikes, and an updated look at the comings and goings.
Matthew Barrows of the Sacramento Bee had a post on his blog where he talked with Scot McCloughan on a conference call and the talk of defense came up and this is what Scot had to say regarding the addition of Justin Smith.
The 49ers and DE Justin Smith (Bengals) have reached an agreement, but nothing has been signed. Deal is believed to be $32.5 million in the first four years of the contract, overall 6-years, $45 million. The signing of Smith immediately improves the 49ers horrid pass rushing defense. Smith was the fourth overall pick back in 2001. [...]
FOXSports.com has learned that Bruce is heading to San Francisco for a free-agent meeting with the 49ers, which recently hired Mike Martz as their offensive coordinator. St Louis Post Dispatch reports that Martz contaced Bruce Thursday night and if/when Bruce gets on a plane it will be to sign a deal not just to visit.
Alan Faneca’s name has popped up according to John Clayton. This is the first mention of Faneca linked to the 49ers, it could be one reason why they let Justin Smiley walk so easily. Check here for other free agent news and notes.
Latest rumors/reports are that the 49ers are hot after Lance Briggs and Justin Smith. Also Bernard Berrian is saying he’d like to play for the 49ers.
