Spikes Visiting Cincy?
Since Thursday/Friday of last week, we’ve all been waiting on word if Takeo Spikes was going to sign with the 49ers. As of now it doesn’t look like it will happen. Mainly because four to five days have passed and no signing.
Normally if the 49ers bring a player in for a visit, 95% of the time they sign that said player.
Latest word on the Spikes front is that is he set to visit the Bengals, the team he started his career with, at least that is what is being reported over at BengalsZone. Of course this is the only site out there reporting Spikes is visiting the Bengals.
One thing is certain, he hasn’t signed with the 49ers and left San Francisco without a contract.
Guess he didn’t cough well enough during his physical.

what about Brandon Chillar. He could play both 3-4 & 4-3

If this is true then the niners didn’t like what they saw in the physical OR they are being extremely STUPID to let him go. We NEED Spikes, but not if he failed a physical.

Riclow i agree with u on brandon chillar
i was reading in profootballtalk.com and they said the cardnials are wanting to go after him when they get a deal done with fitsgerald but we should so go snag him up

Didn’t Chillar play for the lambs? Is he a linebacker? I remember the name, but I don’t know a whole lot about him.

3.Al Wilson LB DEN…Big strong playmaker who can play TED
4.Andre Dyson CB NYJ..could push WAlt Harris and is a INT machine
5.Seth McKinney OG CLE…good backup for Snyder at LG/C
6.Chris Crocker FS ATL…could outplay Mark Roman for FS job
7.Jerome Mathis KR Hou..Character issues but was a rookie probowler
8.Blaine Saipia C DEt…Martz int. lineman followd him from STL to det
9. Samie Parker WR KC..could fit as Martz Receiver 5-11 190 lbs
10. Shane Olivea OT SD…if Warhop/Forenster can reginite his fire then we can bid Good bye to Jonas Jennings

guard Branden Albert, might. I remember talking about Albert with area scout Todd Brunner, who said that every time he saw Albert he was reminded of Larry Allen. It’s not because Albert can bench press 700-plus pounds as Allen once famously did. It’s because they are both big-bodied guards who wear No. 71. Still, you gotta like the comparison.
Another o-lineman to keep an eye on is Heath Benedict from Newberry College in South Carolina. Benedict opened some eyes at the Senior Bowl where he matched up well against defensive ends from bigger schools. (He also got into a fight, which usually earns a gold star in Mike Nolan’s book). Benedict played tackle at the Senior Bowl but he might start out as a guard in the NFL. Benedict showed very good athleticism at the combine, running the 40 in just over five seconds, benching 225 pounds 28 times and jumping 28 ½ inches in the vertical jump.

HEY SAMRA UR AN idiot i think what niners are gonna do is they are goin to trade and get a two first round draft picks they done it 06 and 07
MSouza | Mar 18, 2008 | Reply
How can somebody be an idiot because they don’t throw a hypothetical trade into their mock draft. Have you ever read a mock draft before, they don’t predict trades, if you ever find one that does just close the window immediately, it is wrong.
MSouza | Mar 18, 2008 | Reply
also what do we use to get another first round pick? Trade two of our other selections away? With the depth the way it is in this draft I really don’t see the niners giving up two for one, unless it doesn’t look like a player that they really like will slide.

I see us remaining true to our draft order the first couple rounds.
