PFT at it Again

Pro Football Talk is at it again. This time they are saying per sources that the 49ers will fire Nolan and promote Mike Singletary to head coach because they don’t want to lose him to the Falcons or Ravens, because of his close relationship with Patrick Willis.

Not only that but they say that after Singletary becomes head coach, Mike Martz will become OC.

  1. Fine by me….
    I’ll believe it when I see it…

  2. Nolan did the right thing the first 2 years, but losing Norv Turner was his biggest downfall. Although Nolan got a lot of credit for last years sucess, Norv controlled the offense and made good plays/moves to make them competitive. Nolan should have worked harder with the Yorks and saved Norv for this season. Looks like Nolan will take the fall now!

In my expereince when the head coach makes the bad calls, he loses the vote of confidence from the players. This is even though the players at that moment WANTED to run the 4th and 2! Singletary has that vote of confidence from the players right now I’m sure and that’s what makes him a great candidate for Head Coach. The Yorks did it with Erickson and will probably do it to Nolan, say goodbye and give them a extended paid vacation! For Nolan it’s 3 years vacation right?

    Note for Coach Nolan:
Thanks for the last 3 years especially last year! You gave us some hope and respect. 49er Faithful for life!

  3. 2 years left on his contract
