Foster was the starter last season and to have a full time starter as a backup is always a good thing. The Rossum signing is a little suspect. When will the Niners learn players do not get faster with age. Because a guy returns one on the Niners doesn't make him an elite returner, or even a good one for that matter. Foster is a solid RB, just a little injury-prone. But, that won't be as much of a problem being a backup. And, Rossum will be a good kick returner. Honsestly, I'm not real sure why the Steelers let him go. But, I agree that they are worth it only if the Niners don't overpay. I still feel we should keep Micheal Robinson. His value on special teams and for use in trick plays and whatnot is worth keeping him around. I say let Hicks go. His time has passed and he is replaceable. I agree with these moves.
