I don't disagree but would argue that the biggest killer to this board (even as we became good) was the beginning of the utter dominance of social media, twitter and reddit for how people get their news, and discuss it. All of a sudden, going on the internet wasn't considered to talk sports or whatever wasn't considered to be unusual or out of the ordinary anymore-as long as you went to the right places.

Probably true...I stay away from the social media sites, so I am not aware of the amount of discussions there. Sites like this and now the social sites provide a place where one can get more enlightened viewpoints of the sportsworld as opposed to hitting the three or four major sports sites where one can read the same stories with the same perspective.

<-- Still here. Just making up a post to see how many years I've been around. In my opinion, this place was popular was because the other sites had no tolerance for differences of opinions. This coupled with their desire to be politically correct drove people here. As was pointed out, the high points here were when the team was doing bad. So when the team was playing better, there were fewer differences of opinion, and maybe more of some on this board wanting to be more politically correct; and the numbers drop. Just an opinion.

That is the most blatant abuse of power since Jed underminded & leaked disinformation to get rid of one of the winningest coaches in 49er history in order to replace him with a guy who will kiss his ass.

Maybe the 'stache acts like velcro.

What if we all typed up resumes, regardless of football or football coaching experience, but for every point we made, we indicated that we conducted ourselves with class. If half of us were to send it the the 49ers applying for OC position, and the other half for DC position, do you think Jed would hire any of us?
