What We Learned: Rams @ 49ers
Sun, 16/11/08 – 16:31 | 34 Comments

The 49ers won their third game of the season and first victory for interim head coach Mike Singletary. From the first half it was all 49ers. They ran the ball well, passed the ball well and didn’t have any stupid penalties or turnovers that hurt them.

Drinks are on Strickland

Submitted by Niner Pundit on Thursday, 24 April 20088 Comments

Donald Strickland, a reserve defensive back for the 49ers, was arrested earlier this month in downtown San Jose after allegedly running away from police who were trying to arrest him for being drunk in public, officers said today. Strickland, 27, was booked April 13 on suspicion of public intoxication and resisting arrest, both misdemeanors, according to police spokesman Jermaine Thomas.

On April 13, around 1:50 a.m., police officers spotted Strickland in an altercation with another group of men in downtown San Jose’s nightclub district, according to Thomas. Officers saw Strickland near the corner of Second and San Carlos streets being held back by others in his group and believed a fight was about to break out.

The two officers intervened and smelled alcohol on Strickland’s breath. Thomas said Strickland “was being belligerent” with the officers, who then tried to place him under arrest. Instructed to walk toward the officers, Strickland ran away, police said.

Strickland didn’t get far. The 5-foot, 10-inch and 187-pound football player made it for about half a block before he fell down, according to Thomas. After a brief struggle with officers, Strickland got up and ran again.

“That’s when we took him into custody,”

I came on here expecting to see some news on what the niners might do being as though it’s a day before the draft instead this gets posted on here.

Why report something like this a day before the draft and it’s bad enough we wasn’t getting much news all week to begin with but to add my take on what he did I just don’t understand these players getting into shit and they’re living a dream it’s a lot of us in this world that have talent and would not only love to get paid for it but to be famous for doing it and these fuckin idiots fuck it up by drinking and going to strip clubs and shit and chad johnson got the nerve to think the bengles should had not released chris henry after all the shit he been getting into and he was bitchin and complaining about that but I think he’s just using that as another excuse to ask out which is all of a sudden he wants out with his bitchin and moaning I just don’t fuckin get it!

Should we offer our fist rounder to Miami for Jason Taylor? I think we should?

No we shouldn’t offer our 1st pick to Miami for Jason Taylor strait
up. But I would like to trade for Taylor.

Trade 29 for Miami’s 32, and give 75 our 3rd rounder for Taylor.
Then pick Groves, Mayo, Conner with 32.
    Then trade our 39 (2nd) and 107 (4th) to Atlanta for 48 (2nd) and 68
(3rd). Pick Caldwell with 48 and Nicks or Hills with 68.

I’m also in favor of tradeing one of next years picks for another
pick between 32 and 70 to get the best available Nose Tackle.

there ar 2 big reasons they need to do this. (1) its win or Nolan is gone (2) New stadium deal is coming up and they need to put some
juice and excitement into the band wagon jumpers, so that when the
stadium go’s on the ballot, (Santa Clara or San Francisco) it will
pass. The last thing we need is the York’s moving the team to LA.

29 traded to Miami net result Groves, Mayo, Conner, Phillips.
39 traded to Atlanta net result Caldwell
75 traded to Miami net result Jason Taylor 107 traded to Atlanta net result Nicks, Hills
with the additional 2nd rounder that we get for next years pick get
    either linebacker, corner, safety, guard.

This scenario would give us a starter at outside LB or safety with 32.
Andre Caldwell a starting big play WR. Slot 2008, take Bruce’s spot
    2009. with 48
Jason Taylor MVP at DE he’ll be great for 2 or 3 more years.
At 68 we grab our right tackle of the future. Nicks, Hills, Cousins

4 starters, 1 pro bowler. Wild Carddddddddddddddddddddddddddd
