Double Digit Losses…

And Nolan will somehow keep his job? Sad.

It’s unfortunate that it took Dilfer getting knocked out, until Nolan finally gave some playing time to Shaun Hill. Hill looked pretty good, completed more passes than the other quarterbacks. Hopefully he’ll get more time next weekend and maybe prove that he can actually perform well and give this team a little ray of hope.

At least Adrian Peterson didn’t kill us. Can’t say the same for Chester Taylor though.

  1. i didnt watch the game but was it Chester Taylor that ran for the longest TD of the season.

  2. good game 9ers!!!!!

  3. Wow, If anybody complains here about this team, just shut up already. ADMIT IT WE ALREADY KNEW WE WOULD LOSE! We just need to wait the year out till it ends. We will not win another game. We just need to not trade our first round picks away for the following years and again… REBUILD. Stop complaing we suck, we know it. It’s not like Nolan reads this site and listens to surprisingly good ideas. Alex Smith will never be good, he will have a fourth new offensive coordinator next year, another set back for him. I feel bad for the people on this team that are actually very good, unfortunately they are not used at all. Well this season is almost over. Three more weeks. Wait Wait Wait. By the way I think the Patriots need a runnigback and will draft Darren McFadden with our top three pick. Make you wish Nolan was smarter than this. Trade away what could be our back up to a crummy season, let alone to the BEST TEAM this season. Well I hope we stay shitty for another ten years so we can have great draft picks. Maybe we’ll be good. Someone should tell Nolan to stop being nice and to be more aggressive. He is great at picking talent but can’t use it on the field. We need him to continue to get great picks in the drafts than ditch him for a great Head Coach. I used to think that the players sucked. Not the coaches fault. But I have noticed the Patriots get people who aren’t rally good, and make them Great. Bill Bellicheck is able to use talent so well the players don’t have to be good. Nolan right now is the opposite. We have good players that suck because they play for Nolan and other coaches. Wait Wait and Wait…

  4. yes (to above)

You know, there is no way in hell anyone is going to beat that record: 3 different Defensive Tackles from the same team had an interception. Never, and I mean never, will that record be surpassed or even matched. There’s never going to be a game where 4 DTs have interceptions. I’d bet my life on it.

Oh, by the way, how bad do you have to be to throw 3 interceptions to defensive linemen? 3-10 bad? Nope…not bad enough. 3-13 bad? maybe. How about so bad that your team gets BETTER when your third string QB comes in who’s never thrown a professional pass before.

Lastly, the following players just suck:
    Darrel Jackson
    Vernon Davis
    Larry Allen

It’s a shame because those guys are making a lot of money, yet they do absolutely nothing. Scrap these losers (along with Smith and Nolan) and start building a real team.

  5. Adrian Peterson only got 3 fantasy points!

  6. Yes, Thanks for correcting me I forgot to say that we DO actually have really shitty people Machiavelliman Vernon Davis doesn’t suck… yet. I already talked about how bad Jackson was. Alex Smith We will never know. Frank Gore is a good player unfortunately with this team he will never be able to be used to his full potential. Larry Allen is one big fat ass that has lost all of his strength. I do have one question. Does Nolan control who they draft? Because he usually has pretty good drafts. Getting Gore in the third round. Getting Manny Lawson and Vernon Davis in one draft. Getting Patrick Willis and Joe STaley in one draft. Staley is doing really good for a rookie. So does he? Because if he does I would keep him a little longer.

  7. Anybody else hope that the 49ers staff is looking at Colt Brennan, he should be availible when we have the 30th pick in the first round

  8. Question:
Would the Dolphins kick the shit out of the 49ers?

  9. Nolan’s picks are a little overrated:

    1st year:
Smith (hasn’t done anything yet…tending towards bust…obviously not as good as Aaron Rodgers)
    Baas (starter)
Gore (1 great season, a lot of heart, injuries galore, fumble problems, probably Nolan’s best pick)
    Snyder (emerging starter)
    Fields (solid backup)
    6 more garbage picks

    2nd year:
Vernon Davis (sucks, good at standing up and not moving while people are trying to tackle him…highest paid TE in the NFL)
Manny Lawson (was looking good earlier this year, but out for season)
Brandon Williams (Young Rich Motherfucker…sucks really bad)
Michael Robinson (solid backup QB/RB…great special teams player)
Haralson (injuries, but a good pass rusher)
Delanie Walker (drops balls like they’re haunted)
Hudson (solid like 6th CB or something)
    a couple more duds

    3rd year:
    Willis (God)
    Staley (good starter)
    Jason Hill (who?)
…and more guys that don’t play

    Conclusion:
Average at best. Had two excellent moves (Willis, which my kangaroo could have picked…I mean how did he fall to #11? Jamaal Anderson???) and Gore (which, from what I’ve gathered from his other picks, was just a lucky fluke). A couple strong choices that still have potential (Baas, Lawson, Staley),…and a lot of garbage…and some picks that have set this team back about 3 years (Smith, Davis, Williams, trading for Staley, etc.)

  10. So instead of watching the 49ers game today (if you can call that a game) I watched Cool as Ice with Vanilla Ice! No Joke! I would rather watch Cool as Ice on T.V. than watch 49er football. There is a site on the internet 49erswebzone.com that has a questioner, “Should head coach Mike Nolan remain with the 49ers in 2008?” As of yesterday some people 47% were saying yes! Any person on the planet can see that this team is not playing for Nolan. What in the hell are these people thinking? I don’t quit on something just because it goes bad…I quit on things because Nolan doesn’t have it. He has brought in great talent, but it takes more than that. He doesn’t have it. If he retains his job, and unfortunately he will, then I can’t watch the Niners next year! He can get a bad-ass OC, score a hundred points a game, and pull off 12+ wins next year! But he will only do that because he job will be in jeopardy! Does Nolan play to win or not to loose? I hope that you guys get a laugh off me watching Vanilla Ice on T.V. today! God knows we need a laugh!

  11. Colt will be around in the early 3rd round.

  12. shaun hill did not have a good game in my opinion. you’re not having a good game when you complete 3 passes to the other team’s defensive linemen. that’s an nfl record by the way and it beats the old record by two!

  13. The Niners will never draft a quarterback as good as Colt brennan, that would be to good! Plus they already have their “quarterback”. This sucks so badly. We should draft a quarterback, but we won’t. If we do, draft Brennan, Dennis Dixon, or Joe Flacco, he’s being compared to Ben Roethisburger exactlty. he is six foot six, mobile, breaks tackles and sacks, and makes huge plays off of plays that look completely fucked. He saves plays, and he can throw the ball 75 yards . Colt brennan is a fucking beast, forget about Dixon i forgot he tore his ACL he will suck now. hopefully we pick a quarterback in the second or third round. Oh and Machiavelliman Its almost impossible to have all seven picks to become great starters or starters at all. So saying six garbage picks is like saying they had a normal draft.

  14. I would get rid of every 49er item I own if we drafted Colt Brennan. The guy did not choose Hawaii out of high school. He went to Colorado and was kicked out after he was arrested on Burglary and Trespassing charges, went to a JC, then went to Hawaii to play in a system that made Timmy Chang look like a good passer. I think Chang is working for UPS or something now.

About Smith - to say that Rodgers is OBVIOUSLY better than him is a very blind, and unknowledgable statement. He has a great offense around him, and what really is OBVIOUS is that we have the worst offense in the last 20 years of the NFL. Unfortunately, we might never know how good he is going to be because he will see a 4th coordinator in his 4th season. And for those who don’t know, he will undergo shoulder surgery, because he played 2 1/2 games with a separated throwing shoulder. Notice he played bad in those games, but not in the previous. That same injury could have lingering effects.

Hopefully Miami fires Cam Cameron like they should and if Nolan is still around, he might possibly be smart enough to bring him in as OC.

  15. (above) excuses excuses

  16. Jimmy Johnson should come in as head coach along with jerry rice as receivers coach,Cam Cameron as offensive cord, and ronnie lott as assistant head coach and assistant secondary coach….if mike singletary leaves and get Ron Rivera as defensive cord.

  17. Ok, seriously, you all can stop the Smith bashing…let me see YOU go in and play QB with a separated shoulder and torn ligament. OK…now shut up !! These people that are calling him a bust…why ???? Based on what ? 3 games this season ( 2 of which we won.), or because he made a mistake coming back from an injury which clearly hasn’t healed ? He has a real good season for a QB’s 2nd year last season, and hasn’t had a chance to grow on that this season. We need good play calling, and a WR who doesn’t drop everything. Then we will see how good Smith can be. He has good mobility, and a decent arm. He needs better protection, and WR’s. That will come in the offseason, and draft. We are still approx. $20 million under the cap, so we can get some good talent. Also, this kid is ONLY 23 YEARS OLD. He should have sat for 1 year and learned but because Nolan is a moron, he started him, but then again, what other choice was there ?? Rattay ???? no !
Somethin’ tells me that if this site has an age restriction of 18, that most of you couldn’t come on here. Seriously, a bunch of kids who don’t know squat about football. Maybe we could just trade for Brady and Moss. Shut up !! Some really stupid opinions and suggestions… Some of you really know your ball though. Most don’t. Smith has skills to be a good QB. Also, look who else is out there FA wise. Nothing ! We will get a good GM who will hire HIS coach, and HIS OC. and we will be fine. I think VD has major skills, but again, he’s not getting passes or plays called for him. Smith will be healthy next year and we will rebound as a team in ‘08.

  18. Yeah, throwing with a separated shoulder behind a line that can’t block to receivers who can’t catch on a play that won’t work because a guy who called doesn’t have a clue what he is doing is a pretty bade excuse. I’m sure Brennan had a pretty good excuse for getting arrested too.

Remember that Garcia had some pretty rough years in the league. Not to mention Steve Young’s career. He didn’t go to the Niners til he was 3 years out of BYU, then sat behind Montana for 4 more years, only to start after Montana went down, leading the team to a 4-4 record, and was replaced by Steve Bono. I hope you caught his induction to the Hall of Fame.

  19. actually guys the 2005 offense was worse than this years…hell some random team might hire hostler like GB did with Mike McCarthy and Hos’ll finally get his shit together…i think if we want to remain in this offense we can probably get Josh david Booty in the 3rd or fourth round…he reminds me alot of Trent Edwards

  20. Yeah but Alex Smith was crappy even before he got hurt. Let’s be honest, he’s not the future.

  21. Yeah he was pretty crappy in that comeback drive against the Cards, especially when Jackson dropped that perfect touchdown pass, or when he scrambled for a first down on 4th and 2, or when Battle also fumbled that perfect TD strike.

Smith played almost as good as a player could in an offense as dysfunctional as what we’ve seen this year.

About the 2005 season, that offense didn’t work because the players just weren’t good at all. This year’s offense is horrible because it is un-coordinated. And John David Booty is not the answer. The only QB that might hack it in the NFL who will be available by the time we pick would be Erik Ainge.

  22. i say we hire urban meyer as OC.. it was under him that alex smith strived in college so this move only makes sense…fuck the coryell or whatever offense nolan wants to run

  23. Machiavelliman you are one sad sour puss(y) Instead of looking for solutions to problems you continue to be negative and talk shit. You would probaly get your ass beat anyday by anyone of these players. You can kiss my fuckin hairy ass. Suck my Aids infected dick. Get on my LEVEL! If you come back on me I promise you I will go play football and work my way up till I play for this fucking team. I would probaly do good too. If you hate Machiavelliman say YES.

  24. YES!

  25. Hell Yes!

  26. I agree with the Smith comments that we need to give him 1 more healthy year to see what he can do.

I also believe we need and will get a new GM next year…Mike Holmgren and make some deals. The greatest quality of a good GM is that you can’t fall in love with your players. This is still a QB league, ie: Brady, Farve, P. Manning, etc and if someone came calling for V.D. or Patrick Willis and deal was right then you have to take it.

Before you all lose it on me thinking about trading someone like P-Willie, just ask yourself what 128 tackles have gotten us this year…3-10.

Teddy Bruski leads the Pat’s with 71 tackles and we all know how they’re doing!

  27. Yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeah!

  28. Yes, I’m Rick James Bitch!

  29. YES! and the Niners are terrible this season i can’t beleive it. Interceptions to Defensive tackles!? Taht is sad

  30. I’m getting tired of watching the Niners lose.

  31. mike holmgren would be suck at GM…the seahawks already took this position away from him just like its gonna happen to nolan

  32. Machievelliaman heres what you said “1st year:
Smith (hasn’t done anything yet…tending towards bust…obviously not as good as Aaron Rodgers)” is this really what you meant to say? Or have you not reallized that Aaron Rodgers has played in a whole half a game in his 3 years with the Packers. That is like me saying Shaun Hill is a better quarterback than Alex Smith because of what he did in half a game today. I 100% agree with Big M in that saying that that is a very blind and unintelligant statement. Alex Smith is not this teams problem. Alex Smith is this teams future at quarterback. First of all I’d be scared shitless standing behind the 49ers o-line with a few exceptions, they suck. The 2 starting receivers; Mr. Alligator Battle and The Ball Scares Me Jackson are also no good. Look what he has to work with.

  33. I just think we should draft a QB because “1″ we don’t know how fully alex smith will come back after this injury and maybe surgery “2″ we need to have more quality depth at the QB spot “3″ there needs to be a compitition at and for the position of starting QB “4″ having two capable QB’s in practice helps both the offense and the defense.

And I myself think that Colt Brennan would be the best fit, the quickest learner and plays at a speed that we dont have, I actually like that he plays in a run and shoot offense, he has great accuaracy and real quick release, as for having been in trouble, come on we live in california, who hasn’t ever been in trouble growing up, atleast he got his life turned, and as for him being availible in the third round, do you really think Miami would pass on him in the second???

  34. Is Stickum still outlawed? I’m thinkin’ that could help Hill’s throwing hand!
Nice that Hill’s release and decisions were so much faster than Dilfer’s.
If VD loses concentration ONE MORE TIME and gets a stupid penalty BENCH HIM. How hard is it to pay attention??????

Anyone hear any news on Dilfer?

  35. to all u haters that hate on smith, wtf. he went 2-1 this season when healthy. ya’ll dont know shit about football. PS we should keep hill in for the rest of the season and keep Dilfred out:)

  36. niners would dominate the dolphins if they played this year. both teams would probably only score field goals, but niners win.

  37. READ THIS IF U HATE THE PATRIOTS
    EXTEREMELY FUNNY
Don’t look now, but the undefeated New England Patriots have just gotten a little better. In a move hailed as “ingenious,” the Pats acquired stud running back and Heisman hopeful Darren McFadden from the Arkansas Razorbacks for a sixth round pick in the 2008 draft.

Though NFL teams rarely do business with college teams, Patriots coach Bill Belichick said it made sense for both parties.

“We just needed some more depth at the running back position and we thought Darren would fit in with our system,” Belichick said today. “We’ll throw him out there and see what he can do. As for the Razorbacks, they get a pick in the NFL draft, which is a huge coup if you’re a college team.”

When asked if he violated league rules by making a transaction with a team that’s not even in the NFL, Belichick sidestepped the question.

“We just needed some depth at running back and we went out and made a deal,” he said in his usual monotone. “That’s it. There’s not much else to say about it. Right now we’re just focused on our next opponent, the Baltimore Ravens. They’ve got a good team over there. Tough team. Anybody have any questions about the Ravens? No. Well eat shit, then.”

Arkansas now holds a coveted NFL draft pick and must decide what to do with it. According to athletic director Frank Broyles, they don’t have many options.

“As a college team with an NFL draft pick, we’re pretty limited,” said Broyle. “There’s not much we can do. In essence, we just gave away a player for nothing. Still, a sixth round pick is nothing to sneeze at. Tom Brady was a sixth round pick.”

Broyles said that Patriots VP Scott Pioli contacted him Sunday night to discuss the deal.

“Scott made it pretty clear that he was interested in getting a deal done that night,” said Broyle. “So I thought about it for a minute, and it dawned on me that even a sixth round draft pick in the NFL would probably be one of the best players on our team. So naturally I said yes. It was until later that night that I remembered college teams can’t select players in the NFL draft. I couldn’t believe it. I’d been hoodwinked! Man, those guys are smart.”

When McFadden learned of the deal, he was stunned. However, he later admitted that it was “probably for the best.”

“At first, I was just so upset that my team didn’t want me, but then I reminded myself that another team did want me, and it was the Patriots. So I think this is all going to be a great learning experience for me. I just want to know: am I getting paid? Because they said something about student athletes not getting paid.”

McFadden joined the Patriots in practice today, and quickly learned that life under Bill Belichick was going to be in stark contrast to life as a Razorback.

“Belichick likes to take us rookies down a peg,” he said. “He screamed at me today for accepting the ball on a hand-off. He was like ‘Where do you get off taking my hand-off, rookie? What the fuck does Darren McFadden know about taking hand-offs?’ Then he made the whole team do up downs while I ate a sundae. That was a good sundae, but it wasn’t worth having all my teammates hate me. Maybe if they put nuts on it or something.”

  38. i liked hill today. besides the 2 picks to d-likemen he had a pretty good game. not bad considering its the first time he’s actually played in an NFL game.

and Lowrance, dilfer got a concussion and is questionable for next weeks game

  39. Brennan is all hype. I might eat my words after the Sugar Bowl, but I am confident that he’ll struggle against that Georgia team. SEC football is as close as it gets to NFL football, and for this reason I think Erik Ainge is the right guy if we do indeed go with a QB with our 2nd pick. He doesn’t have the numbers Brennan did, but there is a HUGE difference between the SEC and the WAC.

  40. (Comments about my statement): “to say that Rodgers is OBVIOUSLY better than him is a very blind, and unknowledgable statement.”

    and

“is this really what you meant to say? Or have you not reallized that Aaron Rodgers has played in a whole half a game in his 3 years with the Packers.”

alright alright. I’ll change it to “Aaron Rodgers is PROBABLY better than Alex Smith.” I base this on 3 things:
    1. He has barely played (unlike Smith who already has about a season and a half under his belt) yet still was able to come into a situation, remain poised, and succeed against a defense that was giving trouble to some slouch named Brett Favre.
    2. I went to Cal with Rodgers. He was good. He was better than Smith at the collegiate level. Since Rodgers left, Cal has been very poor despite having much better players (except at QB)
    3. Here’s the question I asked on draft day: Why would anyone think that Smith is any better than Rodgers? Smith was in a classic gimmickey system, while Rodgers was in a pro system. Smith never played against tough competition, Rodgers had his best games when it mattered (vs. USC for example). Rodgers has a stronger arm, is slower (barely), and has much more size to him than the slim Smith . Plus, Rodgers has normal sized hands.

  41. 1. Machiavelliman, once again your comparing Alex Smith to one half of football by Aaron Rodgers. Ok now I’m gonna pick a half for Alex Smith, do you remember the second half of last years Thursday night game in Seattle.
2.Aaron Rodgers was not better than Alex Smith at the collegiate level. In 2004, the year before the draft Rodgers had 24 td’s to 8 int passing, where Smith had 32 td’s to only 4 ints. Let alone Smith added another 10 td’s on the ground to Rodgers 3, both in 12 games.
3.On draft day, if Rodgers was so good, why did he jump on a slip and slide and fall all the way down to 24? It was sure that if the 49ers didnt take Smith with the #1 pick he would have never made it past Tampa Bay at #5. But i can see now on why you would be a Rodgers fan, you went to Cal, if I went to Cal the same year as Rodgers I’d probably be a fan of him too. But I would never base that as the reason for me saying he’s a better football player than someone else.

  42. You are officialy a moron. After reading that last comment, I doubt you even went to Cal.

    1. Haha you are saying he played well against a defense who was giving trouble to a SLOUCH named Brett Favre. Brett Favre was just having a bad game and was forcing it that night. All the underneath stuff was there but Favre desperately wanted to exploit the Cowboys’ safeties, it just backfired. You didn’t mention that the Packers offense is about ten times better than the 49ers.

    2. You going to Cal with him wouldn’t make you more knowledgable about his skills. It would make you more BIASED. Smith was a Heismann finalist. Rodgers wasn’t. Plus, the Pac 10 is weak defensively, so shut up about who played in what conference. Rodgers had great skill position guys around him.

    3. Whatever you asked yourself on draft day doesn’t matter. What does matter is that 23 teams passed on Rodgers, while the 49ers decided to take him first, and if they didn’t, it was well-known that Gruden wanted him. The small hands thing: GET OVER THAT ALREADY. IT ISN’T TRUE! He hasn’t fumbled since that rookie year. Away teams are usually given the fresh balls, which are usually slick, and his poor mechanics AT THAT TIME caused him to fumble those footballs. Oh and Rodgers is 6′2 220. Smith is 6′4 220.

It’s obvious you think highly of your football knowledge because of the points you try to make. That fact is you know very little and you place too much emphasis on what things you’ve heard by other unknowledgable critics that somehow get paid to ruin players’ reputations. Most importantly, it’s obvious now that you are biased against Smith because you are a Rodgers fan and are bitter that the Niners didn’t draft him.

  43. I blame the chargers for all this crap. If they would have never fired Marty, then we would have never lost Norv Turner, which means we would have never hired Jim “dumb-ass” Hostler. Imagine if we still had Norv Turner…
