Al Everest Not Coming Back
The offseason has started off with a bang, okay more of a whimper, but the Niner Gods have given us a gift today. Al Everest the so called Special Teams coach was informed today that his contract will not be renewed.

The 49ers are expected to get the 13th overall pick and either the 16th/17th which will be decided by a coin toss between the Titans and the Panthers.
Niners finish the season 8-8, despite an offense that started shaky and really didn’t put up points until the 4th quarter. Thank goodness the defense played well and the Rams suck.
I thought it was rather humorous when I read reports from sites outside Ninerland, that next season Nate Clements was going to be moved to safety. The funny thing is a lot of people ran with it and believed it would happen.
Christmas is a time for miracles. Too bad we didn’t get one. I thought if I wished hard enough, and wanted it more than anything, my 49ers would win the division and compete in the playoffs. It was a lot to ask for, I know. The Arizona Cardinals had to lose [...]
The 49ers lost their 8th game of the season and with that loss they are now officially eliminated from the playoffs.
To me it’s a sad day in Ninerland. Reports have surfaced that linebacker Jeff Ulbrich has decided to retire.
I’m sure we can add more numbers to those that contributed to this loss, but a fumble by Frank, a fumble by Brandon Jones and a dropped touchdown by Vernon Davis get credit for this loss.
The 49ers offense of late has moved more to passing. The game against the Jags, Alex Smith lined up in the shotgun formation 25 of the 49ers’ 38 plays in the first half.
The 49ers won their 5th victory of the season 20-3 over the Jacksonville Jaguars and this was perhaps the first game in a long time where they won on all sides of the ball. Alex Smith it seems is starting to find his groove
What a disaster this season is turning into. The Cardinals are now running away with the division and the 49ers do not look prepared to challenge them. After the loss to the Packers on Sunday, Mike Singletary’s team falls three games behind the NFC champs. With only six games left to play, [...]
For the first time in their careers, Alex Smith’s San Francisco 49ers will face off against Aaron Rodgers’ Green Bay Packers. These two young men have been intertwined since their inception into the league. Although they have been in the league for five seasons, they have never played against each other because of [...]
Unlike games televised on FOX, CBS, or ESPN, the camera never directly featured a shot of the cheerleaders on the sideline. We didn’t even get a look at them during timeouts or before/after commercial break. That disappointed me greatly because from the slight glimpses I did see, they looked really good in their [...]
Are they who we thought they were? That question has two meanings based on tonight’s game. The first is are the Bears who we thought they were?
The 49ers lost their third consecutive game of the season 24-21, but they didn’t make it easy on the Texans, well at least not in the second half. The first half was all Houston. The 49ers offense couldn’t do anything.
Matt Maiocco is reporting that safety Mark Roman is slated to get his first start of the season, due to the concussions suffered by starter Michael Lewis.
Today browsing the articles talking about the 49ers. I came across a great write up by the Santa Rosa Press Democrat’s Lowell Cohn. The article was titled, ‘49ers shouldn’t forget Alex Smith’ and I have to say Lowell Cohn nailed this one.
Matt Maiocco is reporting that Crabtree is likely to get the start ahead of Josh Morgan against the Texans on Sunday.
Shaun Hill almost made some plays. After watching this game I noticed when Hill had the chance to air it out he wasn’t all that bad, but he wasn’t that good either. In the 4th quarter…
The San Francisco 49ers’ leader knows he lost his cool.
Mike Singletary became so frustrated with his team’s poor play he couldn’t help himself but to verbally respond to former 49er Harvey Dahl when the offensive lineman engaged the coach near the San Francisco sideline with Atlanta driving downfield again.
Roddy White had a 90-yard catch-and-run for [...]
“Yippie-Ki-Yay Motherf*****!!!” is the colorful expression used by Bruce Willis’ classic John McClain. In the action series “Die Hard,” Willis portrays a regular, blue-collared police officer thrown into action and saves the day (mostly) single-handedly. Much like Bruce, the 49ers’ Willis has been put in the position to conquer unfavorable odds. But [...]
Well the waiting if finally over, after holding out for God knows how long, Michael Crabtree and the 49ers have finally reached an agreement and have come to terms. Adam Schefter reported late last night on his Twitter that the two sides came to an agreement. Here is what Matt Barrows said about the deal.
Crabtree [...]
49ers Interested in Leon Washington
The San Francisco 49ers could be more active in free agency than first anticipated. Reports have surfaced that the club has been in talks with the New York Jets about running back/special teams ace Leon Washington. Judging from some of the message boards on the report (SFgate.com), I am in the minority when [...]
