The 49ers won their third game of the season and first victory for interim head coach Mike Singletary. From the first half it was all 49ers. They ran the ball well, passed the ball well and didn’t have any stupid penalties or turnovers that hurt them.

I must admit i’m not sold on Balmer. When we drafted Willis in 2007, we knew he was gonna be sick. I know Balmer provides versality along the D-Line, but he doesn’t do anything that “wows” you. He’s not really a pass rusher (he didn’t have many sacks in college), and he’s not big enough to eat up space as a nose tackle in the 3-4. I hope he makes me eat my words, but a really don’t see Balmer being anything but a mediocre player at the next level.

i agree with 49er4life theres just something that seems to be missing from him…maybe he needs better competition in the NFL to bring out the best in him or just some better guidance but i dunno id say the best pick is chilo…

49ers4life you are right that Balmer is to small to play nose tackle right now but he has the body build to put on weight. Give him one year and he will be 320lbs+. They did the same thing with Joe Staley. When we drafted him he weight around 280lbs now he is 320Lbs. Just give him time I think be will ge a good player but to expect him the be Patrick Willis this year is false. Not many people in the NFL can do what Willis did last year.
