  1. Is the site active atm?

  2. Yes the site is active…I have added some content, just not a lot. I’m hoping 49er fans who have worked with Wikipedia will start adding content.

  3. Thanks for this. I haven’t been fond of 49ers.com since they changed the look of their page….

  4. sweet,thanks bros

  5. Pundit, first thanks for updating me on our salary cap total. I’ve searched this new sight and find all the cap numbers for each player. (Please cut Smith) But is there a running total of what we have left over after we sign players? I can’t seem to find that. Or has it not been added yet?

    Thanks

  6. It amazes me, when people get into their dump Smith mentality. They should have been around for the [Spurrier] years. I’ve watched 49er quarterbacks since Y.A.Tittle, and trust me, it’s Albert, Tittle, Brodie, Montana and Young. That’s 5-competent QB’s, 5-Hall of Famers, I think, in the history of the franchise. I really see only one major problem/flaw with Smith, and that’s his timing on his releases, that’s technique, that can be coached up by Martz, mark my words, all Smith haters are going to be eating crow, because believe it or not, SF is going to have a diverse offense, because Nolan knows from coaching the Senior Bowl, who it is that’s going to step right in and tie down a needed spot for years, like, Staley and Willis last year, on both sides of the ball.

  7. well, well, well no one wanted to listen to me, so I’ll say it again on this page. Mike Nolan is a defensive coach, period. When he took over the 49ers, He inhereted a West Coast offensive roster, so they hired Mike McCarthy, Nolan hands the offensea West Coast offensive Coordinator, Nolan hands the offense over to him, then McCarthy leaves for Green Bay. In the mean time Nolan was trying to put his defense together. Norv Turner comes in and SF had the miracle of 6-10. [Miracle you say]: Yes!! a miracle. Let me explore this a bit. The West Coast offense is the QB takes a 3-step drop, 7-yrd. pass, the wide receiver takes it 75. Big wide receivers, smaller, quicker, more agile lineman, Fullback/Tightend outlet passes etc. Because of his creative play calling, Turner was able to keep SF competitive enough throwing the ball, even though the wide receivers couldn’t get seperation downfield, that we discovered our precious Frank Gore. Most all the Niner fateful got pumped up about the 6-10 and of course, the new coming year. Let me further say that Norv Turner, is out of the verticle passing schools of Sid Gillman, Don Coryall and Ernie Zampese. The verticle passing game has any/size receivers, The offensive lineman MUST be big, able, tough ballers inside in order for them to be able to hold at the point of attack. Poor Jim Hostler becomes OC, with Turners offense to guide him, He lacked Turners creativity, and since pressure breaks pipes, they found out that he was out of his element. Hostlers’ small offensive line, started to leak like a sieve, offensive timing went caput!! Alex Smith ended up on the IRL, and the rest of the QBS. ran for their collective lives the rest of the season. Now, Nolan is caught between a rock and a hard spot. Nolan, is all of a sudden, called upon to step up and make offensive decisions, which we all know wasn’t his forte. So being out of his comfort zone, he hired an old OC coach friend of his who came in and did nothing more than change some offensive line blocking assignments. That’s why Shaun Hill came in and was able to perform so well, is, that he had some time to execute. Not that he’s better than Alex Smith. So this off season, they hire a verticle passing guru in Mike Martz. SF purged the old West Coast players on their offensive line, Smiley, Harris, etc., all those slow receivers who couldn’t get seperation. They kept only Heitmann from their line. Then I find that of all people, Ashley Lelie has Martz salivating. That bum, you say??; Ashley Lelie came out of the verticle run-an-shoot offense at the U.Hawaii. He was drafted by the West Coast offensive Denver Bronco’s, where he never fit, so he went to another West Coast fiascal, the Atlanta Falcons. So for the first time since Lelie entered the NFL, he’s finally in his element. He’s that guy, who is going to replace Isaac Bruce, as the SF deep threat. Please don’t rate or grade anything that has to do with last years offense. Nothing of it exists anymore. All the pass patterns have different routes, all the line blocking assignments have changed, the entire offensive line is in positive flux. What I spoke of earlier, between the West Coast passing game/Verticle passing game personal. SF had to put together the personal for a verticle passing game, they finally have for themselves, a scheme and personal that fits it. in order to have success this year, everyone has to be on the same page, with Martz. I look for the third 1000/1000 player in Frank Gore, in this offense. Run and tell that!!

  8. very written piece of information we have alot of potential this season i really think we make a great playoff run ….. seahawks are done winning the west we are the 49ers the best in the west and our time is here 9r faithful

  9. Nicely written Faccipazzo, I agree with you 100%! You need to be on the radio! Send that to Sirus radio to Tim and Pat I garentee they wil email you back and put that on the radio.

  10. Faccipazzo…..Nice piece…. Thanks for shedding some light….. and I agree that would be a good radio piece, you seem to have a lot of insight….”keep posting” we need some of dat around here

  11. Every NFL Team has a scheme, it’s either the [Dink & Dunk] West Coast offense. Denver, Green Bay, Seattle, Washington, Houston, Kansas City, Philadelphia etc., or a Verticle Passing game, like San Diego, Indianapolis, New England, Buffelo etc. These Teams have drafted or signed free agent players, that fit the identity, and scheme that a particular teams run. But usually the panic comes, in not only changing Head Coaches, but when the new head coach brings to a WCO Roster, a OC, whose whole philosophy is Verticle, trouble starts to set in. Gruden ran the WCO when he coached the Raiders. The Raiders went through the same trip, after Callahan left, remember? Norv Turner Took them verticle, with little, to no, success do to the teams West Coast roster make-up. Then Art Shell comes in and expects an ancient, old school verticle offense that he ran when he played in the seventy’s, would work. The same offense, that REVOLUTIONIZED NFL DEFENSES. When no-one could catch Warren Wells or Cliff Branch, the NFL Teams started drafting fast athletes, that could be converted into fast cornerbacks. The kind of cornerbacks like the Steelers Woodson, or Darrell Green, and Deion Sanders, are by-products, that started, way back Then, trying to shut down Wells and Branch. The SF 49ers have been going through a roster transition the last couple of years. They’ve gone from a WCO Roster, to Verticle Offensive Personel. (Read my July 2nd trip above) MARTZ SAYS “WE HAVE WHAT WE NEED TO PLAY THE SEASON” That’s good enough for me. Go Niners!!

  12. Texas 9er, Who is Tim and Pat at Sirius Radio?
