49ers Lose 23-20
Yeah I know the scoreboard reads 26-20, but Rackers missed that field goal. Oh well what are you going to do, that pretty much sums up the 49ers season right there. Not the first time they got screwed by the officials and certainly not the last. Regardless the refs didn’t cost them the game. The 49ers inability to stop Boldin and Fitzgerald and not getting the ball into the hands of Gore lost it for them.
Oh well, not a whole lot left to say. I guess we can look forward to next season and seeing more of Frank Gore and Vernon Davis as they only get better and better. Until the 49ers upgrade the secondary and get a solid pass rush we’ll get more of these types of games. I will save this the 49ers kept on fighting all the way to the end, but costly turnovers did them in.

thanks to the receiving CORPS we didnt do shit in this game.you cant blame alex smith when he doesnt have tALENT around him, except vernon davis, frank gore and a.battle at least tried with 7 receptions.and what about next year, there is no garentee that frank gore will be healthy all next year. and again we are back to the same situation as the last couple of year,we need to up grade the secondary and receiving CORPPSSS.WE always talk it but never do it.i guess the possitive is that we won seven games so far and every year since nolan we win 2 more games a year and next year IF WE GET NEW RECEIVERS IN THE DRAFT!it will take them at least a year to develope, unless they are like bryant and wait for the diapper stage to end.it will be more like two years to get better.
well all the forty niners can do now is hope for a good season next year,I know the forty niners are probably not going to beat the broncos next week, but in the off season we really need to make defensive adjustments. It was a hell of a season for the 9ers, a hell of a lot better than two years ago.were headed in the right direction.can’t wait till next year.
Man, I wonder what woulda happened if we chose differently in mike rumph, kwame harris, and that stupid WR that fishes.
You can at least look at this game and at the least say that Alex Smith strung two good games together. Regardless of the lack of numbers, he played well today. Vernon Davis dropped one or two key passes, Frank Gore let one get picked off after going through his hands, Bryant didn’t play, and the offensive line is far from full strength. Even so, Smith was able to march them down the field late, and if it weren’t for some unfortunate turnovers (I don’t blame him for either) and sketchy defense, we might still have some playoff hope.
Sign Nate Clements and Adalius Thomas, draft LaRon Landry, or Reggie Nelson, and we’ll be ready for next yr
i know ower team isnt that good.but mannnnnnnnnnn.losing to arizona 4 times in a row.mike nolan is 0-4 against arizona.that really needs to change next year.
ahhhh i dont even want to comment they were who we thought were lol we abanend the running gam way to early davis played good smith was good we just stoped running the ball i dont know why ? i see we need alot of work in the secondary jopefully we can pick that up in freeagency like the safty from denver or dwight freeney from the colts to help that pass rush an then in the draft hit up a key reciever like a jarret or a johnson well im out 49ers4life
we need to invent a time machine and go back and relive the glory days
we need freeney and lance briggs from chicago, and samardzija as a reciever if jarret is taken, but the most important thing is defense.I think our record would have been alot better if we still had julian peterson, I mean honestly why the hell did we let him go?
we all need to pray to god that we will get shawne merriman, ray lewis, champ bailey, brian urlacher, and roy williams in the free agency next year, I know this may seem impossible, but just keep hoping and praying
Dude is there anything we can do as fans to complain about the officiating????? I’m dead serious I am pissed and the league needs to feel sorry about this one way or another…. Calls like that change the game adn take away our momentum… Rackers definitely missed that.
smith didn’t have nearly the help that AZ was giving Leinart/ Warner. Having that much time and throwing to those guys is easy. I am happy with what smith has done the last 2 weeks.
the thing i dont get is if your a coach complain about an official you get fined.what ever happend to FREEDOM OF SPEACH. they have been terriable last two years and something has to change.ever since sports betting has been legal in vagas there hasnt been a team in the superboul back to back.just my thought!i think someone is fixxing games.paying the refs off.who would have thought texas would win against the colts!
I was at the game and that was a missed field goal. i dunno wat da refs were thinking
We really need to improve on defence, how the hell can we let an arizona team score 27 points on us at home. that int. that smith threw went through the hands of Fank Gore, which he should have caught. that was a major 6 pt. swing.
they scored 26 points because our defense gave matt leinart all kinds of time to throw, it’s like they don’t want to win,I don’t get it, they played good against the hawks and we gave up 20 points at the half.Nolan should chew their ass before the game instead of at halftime and maybe they’ll play better.
how the hell do the cardinals have that much talent and still suck balls?
how come lately that manny lawson only averages 2 tackels a game?is he alternating with rodrick green who had two sacks this week?
to bad we cant get one of arizonas wide receivers.
i was at the game and was really pissed at fans talking bad about alex and good about lienart, honest alex had another really good second half, that 3rd down pass to VD where he rolled out and passed instead of ran and the 4th down pass.
I really wanted to see what he could have done if they got the ball back at the end, very frustrating.
in the end i would take alex of leinart, i said that going into the draft and am sticking with it, he is younger and has a higher ceeling, i would really like to see lienart play with the wrs and pass protection alex got today
also you got to love smiths toughness and questions lienarts
matt lienart would not have last a week with the 49ers and ower pass pertection. just ask kwame harris !!
Let’s be real, Alex isn’t as good as Leinart, V. Young, Cutler, Rivers, Eli, or any of the first or second year QB’s. We can blame the talent around him, this, that, and the other, but the bottom line is wins and loses.
I’m sorry JDUBB, but what are the comment of Alex being better than the other young QB’s? First of all he doesn’t have the receivers that any of those quarterbacks do…secondly I would take a POISED Alex Smith over a “spoiled brat, I’m gonna throw a tantrum, and I don’t want to go to San Diego” Eli Manning. Eli Manning is everything that I wouldn’t want my QB to be. He always has this pouty, I didn’t get my way, take the toy back or I’ll cry look on his face. Alex Smith is a smarter quarterback…you have to come to grips with that. As for next year…defense, defense, defense. Antonio did us NO favors in this game and we REALLY could have used him. DROPPED passes killed us today as did passes that shouldn’t have been fumbled or tipped to the defender. Also, Alex Smith is going to have a hard time making a decision when Kwame “The pocket collapser” Harris is letting everyone bitch his around. I am not saying that no one noticed, but I DID notice that he was getting beat and pushed INTO Alex Smith all day. That is pathetic…he’s 6′8″ and 320 pounds…pathetic. Also, Jonas “Milk the Contract” Jennings was yet again injured. These are things that need to be addressed…but of all of those d-line and the right side of the o-line need a MAJOR revamp on the offseason. Neither one of these positions are doing close to the job and any other mediocre player in this league could do at their position. The first pick needs to be for the d-line…period.
i think maybe alex could be just as good as eli or cutler even as good as rivers one day.but v.young is in a diffent class. i used to think the same way.but i will give him the benifit of the doubt and give him 4 years . one year to get used to being under center and three more to develope a better arm and acurcy and get better knowledge and play makers.after this year is over,to me,he has two more years left to prove me he is right or wrong and i think that is the time limit for nolan too.and i think vince young is left handed too.
merry christmas ninerfans
Put Alex Smith in the following situations..
In Arizona where he has Fitz, Boldin, and a good TE to throw to.
In Denver where he has Javon Walker, Rod Smith, and a good TE to throw too with a pretty good O-Line
In Tennessee where they got Bennett and other good targets to throw too.
In New York with Plaxico Burress, Amani Toomer, Jeremy Shockey to throw to.
In San Diego where alls you gotta do is hand it off to LT and pass it to Antonio Gates and let them and the D do the rest.
And Alex Smith will do just as well if not better then Lienart, Young, Manning, Rivers, and Cutler. Lienart is overrated and only has the success he has because he has great weapons to throw to in the pros and college. Cutler has a future Hall Of Famer and an all-pro to throw to. Vince Young is doing stuff with to help his team win. Manning has a great supporting cast and still doesnt always get it done because of injuries on that team. Rivers is good but his cast makes him look a lot better.
i ccouldnt have said it better my self!
eddie dont know wat da fuck he talkin about…and u dont even know that 49ers only won 6 games not 7 get it right…..
I’ll agree about Alex Smith being on those different teams except for Vince Young. He’s a special player that should have gone #1 if Reggie Bush didn’t. The Texans screwed up twice with one pick.
I’ll say this though: Vince young is a superior athlete that can buy time better than Alex, and he also had more playing time in college, even though he came out early. What makes Vince Young special is that he can run with the ball and he’s hard to bring down, and he can throw the hell out of the ball even though it’s side-armed (it doesn’t matter when you’re 6′5). Anyways, I think Alex will be up there on that level in a few years, he really needs more time to develop than any other quarterback I’ve ever seen out of the draft, because of his age, and lack of playing experience in college.
Everyone sit tight, we’ll have our sixth in a few years before anybody else.
Man I’m so sick ot them damn cardinals fans, players talking about how they shut down Frank Gore. Gore only had 11 carries and STILL averaged 5.5 yards per carry so how in hell is that shutting him down, with 2 td’s? Alex Smith is better than Matt Leinert punk ass. Leinert got all them weapons and still have a shitty record.
amen to that brutha, look at the offensive weapons that smith has……frank gore….look at what leinart has…….boldin, fitzgerald, edgerin james, shipp, I don’t really know any else cause the cards suck, you have to give it up to alex he is playing well for having no offensive weapons except for frank gore, and matt leinart was in school for like 7 years at usc.
if matt leinart went into the draft when he was supposed to, the niners would of ended up with him,but leinart had to be a pussy and stay at college
You guys are all right, given the situation, Alex Smith still did a soild job in comparison to the other young quarterbacks around the league.
What also doesn’t help is the fact that we have cornerbacks like Sammy Davis who make any opposing quarterback look like Joe Montana on steroids. Add the fact that Kwame Harris cant block a damn Pee-wee Defensive end, Antonio Bryant is an alcoholic, Vernon davis (although improving) tends to drop catchable balls and our other recievers are Bryan Gilmore, Taylor Jacobs and Brandon Williams (honestly, what cornerback is threatened by these names) then you begin to understand and appreciate what Alex Smith has done this year, given his situation.
Eli Manning is a DISGRACE for leaving the San Diego Chargers for the Ny Giants on draft day. Matt Leinart, indeed, is a pussy for staying in college to avoid the 49ers, My 7 year old cousin with one-leg can fulfill the job that Philip Rivers needs to do (Give the ball to LT) and Jay Cutler has a defense to cover his ass.
Alex Smith IS the right choice and I wouldnt pick any other quarterback to lead our franchise back to where it belongs. 49er Faithful baby!
Alex smith is the bomb, he would be one of the best only if he didnt have jackasses on his team like antonio Bryant that gets suspended for drug use. Look for the Niners go deep into the playoffs next year with the division title baby!
I wouldn’t want Leinhart to lead the niners…Alex Smith WANTED to be on our team. Leinhart is one of those kids from the extremely rich part of Southern California that was born third base and thought he hit a triple. We don’t need this spoiled, silver spooned, pretty boy, wanna be Joe Namath, FAG!!! Yeah, he was successful in college…did you see that talent he had around him? He had the best players in college at so many positions on that team…oh and did you see how many of his o line went in that draft and the year before that? Now he on the Cardinals…man thats rough…you have one of the top five receiver cores in the league (probably top three). Alex is a stand up guy and wants to take us back to the glory days…Matt Leinhart would screw us like he is currently trying to do to his former roomate. It was either Smith or Jarrett that was his roomate in college and they were living in a ritzy condo that his father owned and now him and his father are trying to sue him because he missed a few months rent. I know that its raw to miss rent, but do you really think that his father and him NEED the money? What a couple schisters!!!
the nfl needs to review how the field goals are called. the two refs underneath the damn goal post cant see anything.
now that I look at it Alex smith is the right choice, leinart sucks and he wouldn’t lead us,even though smith had a rough start give him a break,he’s only 22 years old, we took him too early, and he plyed half our games last season.you have to give it up to him,he doesn’t have stand out recievers like eli manning,or phillip rivers.he is doing his job, our defense isn’t.correct me if I’m wrong but, when our defense plays well,Alex smith plays well(look at the seahwks game)when we get behind and we have to score points he doesn’t do so hot.look at the rams game
