49ers Tickets 22% Below Average For Showdown With 3-0 Eagles

The San Francisco 49ers started 2014 off strong with a 28-17 road win in Dallas, but have since taken two steps back. Frank Gore hasn’t been effective on the ground, Colin Kaepernick has been careless with the ball and a depleted Niners defense hasn’t been the elite unit most have been accustomed to seeing. That’s all led to what could be a must-win scenario for the suddenly 1-2 Niners, as they play host to the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 4. Only adding to the chaos is the strength of Philly as an opponent, as Chip Kelly’s crew comes into San Francisco with an unblemished 3-0 mark.

A little bit of desperation combined with Philly’s high-flying offense makes this week three battle one to watch, yet it oddly makes it a bit of a value buy, as well. 49ers vs Eagles tickets have an average price of just $277.39 on the secondary market, while fans can get in for just $116. That will be 22% below the season average for San Francisco 49ers tickets at home this season.

While the value is there for the taking, nailing down their second win of the year won’t be an easy task for the Niners. Philly has had some slow starts in two of their first three games, but they’ve done a fantastic job at finishing strong, scoring 30+ points in every game this year. San Francisco has the talent on offense to try to match up with Nick Foles and co. through the air if need be, but the key to this game for the 49ers is obviously going to be their defense. San Francisco shut down the Cowboys in Week 1 and had it not been for four Kaepernick turnovers in Week 4, they arguably would have stifled the Bears at home, as well.

This is set up to be an intense matchup, and possibly even one that is ironically a bit of a shootout. However, for the Niners to win, they’ll have to shut down LeSean McCoy and force Nick Foles out of his comfort zone. The Redskins were able to contain McCoy last week, so San Francisco should feel confident in being able to do that. If they can extend Philly’s slow starts into a full game, they should be able to hold serve at home and hand the Eagles their first loss of the season.
