The 49ers placed fullback Bruce Miller on injured reserve and signed former 49er Will Tukuafu to replace the injured Miller. Tukuafu has been with the 49ers since 2010 where the majority of the time he was on the defensive line. Tukuafu was one of the players the 49ers converted to play some fullback as he saw 90 snaps last season at the position.
Tukuafu suffered a knee injury at the beginning of the season and signed an injury settlement. The settlement expired this month so Tukuafu was free to re-sign with the team.
The loss of Bruce Miller will hurt the offense, but with Tukuafu and Anthony Dixon picking up the slack, hopefully his loss doesn’t hurt that much.
Don’t forget this Monday night is the last game at the Stick, so make sure get your 49ers tickets.
