49ers Dominate Redskins to move to 7-4

The 49ers headed to the East Coast needing a win to keep that sixth spot for the Wild Card and they will leave the East Coast doing just that. On a night where the running game was shut down, the 49ers won behind the arm of Colin Kaepernick and a defense that shut down RG3 and Co.

Colin Kaepernick finished the night 15 of 24 for 235 and 3 touchdowns. A quarterback rating of 134.5 which is a career high. On the receiving end Anquan Boldin hauled in 9 catches for 94 yards and 2 touchdowns. Vernon Davis had 4 catches 70 yards and a touchdown.

On the other side of the ball the 49ers defense shut down the Redskins high ranked offense. Ahmad Brooks and Aldon Smith both had two sacks on the night and the defensive front pressured him all game. They held the Redskins to 190 total yards and I believe they got one first down in the second half. Robert Griffin III had 127 yards passing.

The 49ers still need some work on offense, they have taken care of teams that they should of, now they need to work on beating the teams with winning records. It was a step in the right direction where the passing game worked when the rushing game was non-existent. They worked in Manningham who had a few catches and with Michael Crabtree coming back soon, the offense could not start hitting their stride. Now we wait and see. The 49ers are in a hunt for that Wild Card spot and need to continue to win to get that spot. Divison rival Rams come into town next weekend and it should be another good game.
