The 49ers announced today that they signed Seneca Wallace to a one year deal and in return released wide receiver Ricardo Lockette.

Wallace has jumped around the NFL in his ten year career. He spent seven seasons with the Seahawks, two with the Browns and until recently was with the Saints. The signing of Wallace shows that the team is not happy with either Scott Tolzien or Colt McCoy.
Early reports are that Wallace, Tolzien and McCoy will battle each other for the No.2 spot and that rookie BJ Daniels will end up No. 3
