Report: David Akers to be released before free agency

rom the not surprising department, Adam Caplan is reporting per a source that kicker David Akers will be released before the start of free agency.

David Akers is scheduled to make $3 million this year, that along with the piss poor season he had in 2012, this move should surprise no one.

With 15 picks in the NFL Draft looking for the 49ers to draft a kicker at some point along with bringing in other kickers for competition.
