Alex Smith traded to Kansas City Chiefs
Jay Glazer is reporting that the 49ers and the Kansas City Chiefs have agreed on a trade for Alex Smith. The deal can not be announced until the start of free agency on March 12th.
It has been reported that the Chiefs were showing the most interest in Smith’s services and Jay Glazer is the first one to officially say that it is in fact the Chiefs.

Deal has been agreed upon between Chiefs and 49ers. Compensation unclear but I’m told again Chiefs have made a clear commitment to Smith.

Tim Kawakami is reporting the compensation is a 2nd rounder this year, and likely a 2nd-3rd rounder in 2014.
