Alex Smith Trade ‘Effectively Complete’
CBS Sports’ Jason LaCanfora is reporting that the 49ers are telling other teams that a deal for Alex Smith is “effectively complete.”

LaCanfora did not mention the team, but when the news was tweeted it was being rumored it was most likely Kansas City or Jacksonville. Not long after the news broke, Ryan O’Halloran the Jaguars beat writer tweeted that GM David Caldwell said via text that it was the Jags who had a deal in place for Alex Smith.

All signs are pointing to it, in fact being the Chiefs, but the teams can not announce any trade until the start of free agency March 12th. I’m sure we’ll get more and more speculation regarding who is trading for Alex Smith up until the opening of free agency.
