Chris Culliver releases a statement on anti-gay comments

Chris Culliver released the following statement after news of his anti-gay comments hit the airwaves.

The derogatory comments I made yesterday were a reflection of thoughts in my head, but they are not how I feel. It has taken me seeing them in print to realize that they are hurtful and ugly. Those discriminating feelings are truly not in my heart. Further, I apologize to those who I have hurt and offended, and I pledge to learn and grow from this experience…

Not sure the stance the 49ers will take with Culliver regarding his comments, but ex-49er Tony Pashos was tweeting this today, regarding the contract Culliver signed.

The Pundit of 49ersNews. I do what I can to supply the Niner fans with their fix.
  • As a Niner fan of 32 yrs, I am must say that your actions cannot & should not go without serious repercussions! There is no place on this team for such distasteful behavior. To say that these were thoughts in your head & then go on to say you it’s not how you truly feel is such an oxymoron. You are a bad example of what this team represents. You have brought a bad black cloud of judgement that your team should not have to be under. Chris Culliver, you are bad juju!!!

  • So we’re supposed to believe that the ebonics-spouting thug who said, “No, we don’t got no gay people on the team, they gotta get up out of here if they do,” is also supposed to be the SAME PERSON who uses words like “derogatory”?

Puh-leaze. I wonder how long they had to teach him how to pronounce that long, hard word, let alone the entire halfassed “apology”. No ignorant azzjack that speaks as he does could have written, much less understood, much less pronounce that apology.

Do the 49ers expect us to believe that he went from an ebonics-spouting clod to an erudite apologist in less than 24 hours?

This shows the 49ers are just as culpable and to blame as HE is.

You couldn’t have said it better! I have lived and breathed the “Bay Area” teams all my life. I am all that he “hates” and love my sports teams, but I won’t tolerate this guy! HE HAS TO GO! He shouldn’t play Sunday or any other day there after! We pay his salary! Can’t let this one go! Sorry Chris, start packin now. N. Carolina is waiting for you and to anyone who feels the same. Save the lame apology too!

He should be “fired”! Period. We pay him $613,000 + for him to play for us and he goes and spews this crap?
