Justin Smith has partially torn triceps

Matt Barrows of the Sacramento Bee was the first one to report that according to a source, Justin Smith has a partial tear of his triceps.

This isn’t good news for 49ers fans. After watching the dismantling on defense against the Seahawks, it is clear that this team really needs Justin Smith. Reports are he will most likely have surgery during the offseason, but that doesn’t mean he’ll play in the post season.

If the 49ers don’t get the bye week, I could see Justin sitting out for Cards and wild card round game and hopefully get him back and see how he does in the NFC Divisional round, which most likely would be against the Packers.

The Pundit of 49ersNews. I do what I can to supply the Niner fans with their fix.

Man, we desperatly need Justin back, but resting him up is very important. 9erpundit, that divisional game against the Pack would be homefield at the Stick right, if the pack lose this weekend in minnesota we would get the bye and home field until atlanta, that is if Atlanta were tolose in playoffs, that would be the best case scenerio. What would happen if the Pack win this weekend, we would have that divisional game in Lambeau right. Lets all hope the Pack lose this weekend, should be a good one. If the Seahawks play in atlanta, theres a chance Atlanta would lose, riding there momentum from the 49ers win. If we get the bye and beat the Pack at home, there's a chance we could play the Hawks at home if we get that far, it would be a fitting rematch, a rematch I would hope would show the Hawks how our 12th man can be!

I hope it would play out like that, do you think of we make it by the pack we would have a chance against the falcons, It would bring back memories of the Dirty bird and company, I remember that defeat, it was very unsettling back then. 9erPundit who would you rather see if we get past the Pack, the Falcon's or the Hawks? Lets just hope we win this weekend though first, but what do ya think on that matchup in playoffs, who would you see us face, whats the best playoff scenerio for us?

I'm hoping Pack loses this weekend, we win ofcourse, we should win this game if were legit, a loss this weekend would show were not legit. A first round bye, play Pack for divisional game, win, then face seahawks at home, I just feeel more comfortable playing at home against the hawks than playing in the georgia dome, the falcons play too good at home, and that would worry me playing there, I would imagine that dome would be loud like Seattle but fortunatly no bad weather which would be a plus for us. But its just that we havent played the falcons, don't know what too expect, but that could be too our advantage, look at the Pats game going into that one, we didnt know know what to expect from one another. I'm just hoping we have luck on our side this year, I think home field if we can get it would be extremly beneficial. A Pack lose this weekend is very important, playing in Lambeau again with Kap would not look good.

So again 9erpundit, if the Pack win and we win this weekend, what happens in playoffs, who would play were, would we get a bye still, and the pack would get a bye, then we play the pack in lambeau if we both win this weekend, were would we play if we both win? We would face each other in the divisional playoff game in Lambeau if we both win this weekend right?
