Harbaugh: 49ers are betting on Moss

Head Coach Jim Harbaugh sat down and talked with KNBR’s Brian Murphy recently and Murphy asked Harbaugh what we can expect from Randy Moss. Harbaugh says the 49ers are betting on Moss and that he’ll put a stamp on his NFL career.

Murphy: Last time we saw Randy Moss he was not playing at a super high level in Tennessee. Is that the guy you’re going to get, or is it the guy who before that was one of the greatest wide receivers ever? What should we truly expect from Randy Moss at this point in his career?

Harbaugh: We believe he’s got the ability, so he’s got that. He’ll have the license to go out and compete, and we believe that that’s what Randy Moss wants to do. The reality, of course, will all play out, and we’ll watch that unfold, whatever that is. We’re betting it’s going to be somebody that’s going to contribute and be a factor on our football team in a really positive way. … I think Randy’s got a chance to put a real stamp on his great NFL career, which could be a Hall of Fame career. We’d like to be a small part of that, selfishly, for our team. We’d like to see it be a great year for Randy Moss.

Let’s hope Harbaugh is right and Moss has a great year with the 49ers…
