7…6…and 5

The 49ers won their 7th game of the season. It was their 6th consecutive win and with the Seahawks losing the 49ers are now up 5 in the West.

The win wasn’t pretty, but the defense stepped up and shut down the Redskins offense. The 49ers offense was up and down, Smith was 17/24 for 197 and a touchdown, but the offense once again was powered by the running game. Frank Gore finished the day with a 107 yards, which was the first time in 49ers history where a runningback rushed for over 100 yards in 5 consecutive games.

The defense without starter Ray McDonald held the Redskins rushers for under 100 yards, which continues their streak of not giving up a 100 yard rusher since 2009. Patrick Willis again had a solid game, forcing two fumbles. He along with NaVorro Bowman are becoming the best linebacking tandem in the NFL.

The 49ers host the New York Giants next weekend and look for 7 in a row. Hopefully they get the offense gelling better and dont play down to their opponent.

The Pundit of 49ersNews. I do what I can to supply the Niner fans with their fix.
