Five in a Row

The 49ers won their fifth consecutive game over the Cleveland Browns 20-10. It wasn’t pretty but it was a win.

The 49ers are sitting at 6-1 and with the Patriots losing today the 49ers now have the second best record in the NFL. Also the 49ers now have a 4 game lead in the West with the Cardinals and Seahawks also losing. First time in NFL history where a team has been 4 games up through 8 weeks.

The 49ers started off strong on both sides of the ball. Offense was running smoothly, the defense was getting turnovers and laying down hits. They went into half up 17-3. But after half it looks like Fred P. Soft made an appearance and the 49ers got sloppy. All of their possessions ended in punts in the second half with the exception of one, which resulted in their 3 half second points.

Frank Gore finished the day with 134 yards rushing and a TD. With those 134 yards Gore moved up to number two on the 49ers all time rushing list. Now behind Joe ‘The Jet’ Perry. Outside of Gore the offense was off and on, Alex Smith had some nice passes, but others not so nice.

49ers travel to Washington next week to take on the Redskins. Hopefully they continue their East Coast streak and Fred P. Soft doesn’t make it to the game.

The Pundit of 49ersNews. I do what I can to supply the Niner fans with their fix.
