49ers Select DB Curtis Holcomb with Their Last Pick


With the last pick of their 2011 NFL Draft the 49ers select…DB Curtis Holcomb out of Florida A&M

2009: Holcomb started in all 11 games at corner for the Rattlers as he tallied 35 tackles (21 solos, 14 asst), 1.5 tackles for a loss of seven yards, two interceptions including one returned for 76 yards and three pass breakups. He recorded as season high seven tackles (5 solos, 2 asst) against South Carolina State (10-17-09) and recorded two pass break ups against Tennessee State (9-26-09).

2008: Holcomb is noted as shutdown corner for the Rattlers. He finished the season with 40 tackles (27 solo, 13 asst), half a tackle for a loss of five yards, one fumble return for 16 yards for a TD, 13 pass breakups and five interceptions returns for 91 yards, earning second team all-conference honors. Holcomb finished the season ranked No.1 in interceptions with five, tied with his teammate Qier Hall and led the conference in pass breakups. He tallied a season high six tackles (4 solo, 2 asst) against Norfolk State (10-25-08) and against Hampton University (11-15-08). He also recorded five tackles( 10-4-08) against South Carolina State.

2007: Holcomb saw action in all 11 of the Rattlers games tallying 45 (27 solo, 18 asst), four tackles for a loss of 19 yards, two interceptions return for 12 yards, one forced fumble and five pass breakups. He recorded a season high eight tackles (4 solos, 4 asst) against Tennessee State (9-29-07), six tackles (4 solos, 2 asst) against Norfolk State (10-18-07) and six tackles (3 solos, 3 asst) against North Carolina A&T (11-3-07).
