Niners Lose Third in a Row

The 49ers dropped their third straight to fall to 3-4 overall. The 49ers did a good job of stopping Peyton Manning, but the offense still has problems. It looks like they have a quarterback who can run this offense, but unfortunately they still have Jimmy Raye calling the plays. With Raye it looks like they open up the offense only when they need a score. The other times it is still run, run, pass.

It’s too bad the 49ers didn’t come away with the W. They gameplanned well for Peyton Manning, sacking him three times on the day, but again the offensive playcalling was horrid. I’m amazed that a fullback counter on 2nd and 10 would be called during one drive. The offensive line did well for Smith giving him time to pass, but those play calls were few and far between.

I guess we can take away something positive out of the loss, the defense did hold the Colts to only 18 points and Peyton didn’t have one touchdown on the day. It’s just the offense didn’t take advantage of the opportunities.

I’d like to give Sims props for the play he had today. I’m sure myself along with the rest of you thought that the 49ers were screwed once Staley went down, but gotta give Sims credit he hung in there and Freeney was pretty much a non factor in this game.

The Pundit of 49ersNews. I do what I can to supply the Niner fans with their fix.

As usual we have an offensive coordinator that doesn't stick with what is successful. We score 3 TD's last week in the spread offense and the only time we threw for a touchdown this week was the one time we stayed in a spread offense for the whole drive. This was disappointing because if we played a spread offense we would have had a chance to beat the colts. But as usual (year after year) thee coaches play not to lose instead of playing to win, and of course when u play that way you will lose. We're not going to the playoffs this year. If Raye isnt fired after this season they should fire the GM or Singletary for keeping Raye for being just plain dumb. It sucks being a 49ers fan.

  • Joe Gomez

Actually Alex looked decent, il give him that. BUT, again the accuracy problems stil exists. Alot of his throws were on the opposite shoulder or the balls were just thrown too high on critical plays. Yea the WR maybe had a chance at those but it would have took a almost miraculous catch. That's the difference between an accurate QB like Manning who can thread the ball between defenders and hit his man without the

an having to stretch out, dive, or jump at the thrown ball. Not saying Alex should be at his level, but he did ok. Average numbers, really should have 2 picks in thus game. I guess I would rather have him over Hill just because he slings it down the field better but having said that I still don't think he's our QB of the future. We are 3-4 now and somewhere down the line when were out of playoff contention I would like to see Nate Davis get a crack at this offense. Than after evaluating Nate against first string defenders we can decide if we need to draft a stud QB or not. Either way, Hill or Smith is not good enough to take us to the next level. We need to find that guy thru FA or draft. The organization tried to haul Warner but it didn't work out. Atleast they know our weak points. QB, O-Line, DE, More playmakers. Shit look at what D. Jackson is doi g in Philly and most people said I was crazy for wanting him. People were happy with Kentwan and Chilo. LMFAO. This is gonna be a long season folks, were just not that good.

  • NinerPaul

Well what can I say guy's >> Like I said before it doesn't matter who you got taking snaps back there Hill, Smith, Davis the play calling sucks no passing creativity. I loved how FOX did that play by play segment on Dallas Clark on the role he played in a veriety of ways, Where we didn't get any love cause whats there to show on our part as an offense? Run, run, then pass on 3rd and long. I really thought that Sing should of not let go of Mike Martz. Sing has already lost more games than he did last year and you can't put all this on Hill, Smith or the players. 32 attempts today? This is Shit. Hill averaged 28.8 attempts a game. So we opened it up? By a adding less than 4 more attempts??? The numbers don't lie this is shit! Even Hill had a statistically better games in his first game against Arizona and even in the Minnesota game than today, obviously from playing from behind. So some redemption for Hill to all the Hill Haters that mabey he wasn't so bad after all. Yeah mabey Alex gets some chunks and his completions "look" impressive. But Statistically, not better. Ohh and the all important W? Nope didn't get that. Either way less than 4 more attempts is not going to do it. Are you reading this Raye??????? Like I said from day 1 after the AZ game too conservative, trying to run the clock out by run, run, run. Yeah mabey sing and can stay the coarse but the coarse may take themselves elsewhere.

    • redandgold

hahaha how old r u son?

  • wickerman

I think Raye carries most of the blame. The niners o-line gave up 4 sacks and other than the one long run gave Gore no holes to run through. Smith got to run the spread offense on the TD drive and rarely ran it after that. Smith is not going to do well in a I-set behind an Oline you could drive a truck through. They need shotguns and 3,4 or 5 WR sets. That’s his game. If they wanted to have it Sings way with pound it out and only throw on 3rd down, they should have gone after stud Oline talent. They didn’t. They had an average line. With Staley and Pashos out they have a poor line. Leaving Hill or Smith under center behind a poor line vs a good defense is going to get you a loss – period.

As far as Smith, his lone pick was Crabtree’s fault. Yes he had some bad throws, yes he ws hurried, and yes, he was playing a top flight defense. I will be more interested in what he does the rest of the year. A 3-4 game stretch will be a better measure of whether he is progressing or not.

The bigger concern for the 9ers is the fact that their ‘run 1st smash mouth style’ is a damn fantasy. They are not dominant enough to pull it off. Gore is a great back but he is not Brandon Jacobs in the punishment department. The Oline is not good enough to impose their will. They need to start playing offense around Smith, Crabs, Davis and Morgan and look for success there.

Sing and Raye can smoke all the junk they want – the Niners are NOT a power running team and they do not have the players to become one either.

    • Joe Gomez

Those bad throws were critical. Watch the replays again. Yea let’s give him some more chances and then some more chances. Ok il give him 3 more games, after that we gotta give Nate a chance to show what he can do. It will let us know if we need to target a QB in next years draft. CLEARLY Hill and Smith are not the answer. Is Nate? I have no clue. I do know he’s better than Alex hands down.
If you look at all the great teams, they all have great QB’s. Alex will probably be good someday, who knows when but he will NEVER be great. Unless you have a Ravens or Bears defense you can probably get away with having am average QB but in this league most of the time you need a better than good to great QB. Just think what Brees couldve been like ad a niner if we had signed him after he was released by SD. But no we didn’t even think about it because we were busy with the Alex Smith project. A project goin on 5 years now. You can blame it on different OC’s, injuries, age, go ahead and say any excuse you can. In the end it will come down to talent. Either you have it or you don’t.

      • efrain

Hey joe don't mind your observations but your arguement loses credit when you say brees was released by charchers- brees was moved in a trade. He already had good numbers in SD.

    • Joe Gomez

Hey Wickerman how was that Crabtrees fault? Quit listening to the answers and watch the replays for yourself. You can’t throw a pass in the middle and throw high. Crabtree tried his best to leap in the air but could only manage to get one hand on it. Jesus you Alex fans are truly brainwashed. Hahaha.

      • Joe Gomez

Meant to say quit listening to announcers.

  • Nef77

I think that we can run the ball effectively, but not in a predictable manner against a 7-8 man box. Let the passing game open up the defense. Not these 2-3 yard pitches in the flats. We have the talent to pass the ball effectively. Barry Sims did a great job today as a fill in. Defense did great but I don’t think we got outplayed. I think we gave that game away by the soft play calling. Let’s get some throws down field and then let Frankie run. Keep Jimmy Raye because calling in a new OC is getting old and ineffective. Just spread that ball around.

  • 9erfanforlife

If we get rid of Raye that would be a huge mistake and would place us right back to 1 and 15. Cellar dwellers once again. We need Sing, we need Raye and we need that stability. Winning in the NFL is just like a business. You make small adjustments along the way to get to where you want to be. Not sweeping changes. That is what got us here in the first place.
Our D is good enough to win almost every game we play.
Smith is a great QB and will only get better with time. He is our future. Our receivers are pretty damn good and could end up being the best in the league by the end of the year. Frank Gore is a stud.
Time together and knowing the scheme then we will get dangerous. Our OL is also getting better just like Sing said they would. If we get lucky and stay the course we may find ourselves in the playoffs year after year after year again.

    • Joe Gomez

Smith is a GREAT QB? He’s our future. Where have you been the last 5 years and what are you smokin in that pipe? Hahaha. Nate Davis is far superior talent wise and he’s not even GREAT. To say Alex is GREAT is just plain stupid. Look at his career numbers again kid and tell me if those are GREAT numbers. His numbers imply BUST but we stuck with him only because he chose to take a pay cut. If he doesn’t he’s history and what team would want him as a starter? Hahaha. Cmon now get off the pipe!!!

      • caribulou

Nate hasnt played a real game. You Smith haters need to pull you head out. This loss is squarely on the Coaches. The players did their job but when you call run after run and only try to pass at third and long you cant with. Its that simple. No one fears the passing game so Gore cant do shit. Only reason he got the big run was cause they thought we were going to open it up. Once we opened it up we scored then they closed it again. Pure moronic play calling.

        • Joe Gomez

We still deserve a REAL QB. Can we get a QB who knows how to step up in a pocket when it collapses and deliver an accurate strike? Our organization deserves a quality Pro Bowl QB, not somebody after 4 years we are still hoping to be somebody. Yea there’s nobody else but Nate so I’m basically talking about next year. I’m willing to sit and watch Alex for one more year but if he doesn’t shine I would hope we finally close the Alex Smith project.

        • Joe Gomez

caribulou: never knew the coaches were out there on the field playing..hahaha.. the plays were there dude, they just didnt execute them.

    • Niner Pundit

Sorry Mrs. Raye, but I disagree. Getting rid of Raye will not put us back to 1 and 15. Keeping Raye will most likely keep us from the playoffs.

  • wickerman

    amen.

Raye’s imagination on offense reminds me of a pop warner game.

  • redandgold

I just want to say to all the 9ers fans that I am sorry and that i was wrong about Raye, and he is the PROBLEM!! I just want to be a man about it and say that i was wrong! And PLEASE stop with this smith is not the future or he is not the answer shit, because the guy did what he can do with the situation that he was in 3rd and LONG!! If you guys want to say a sport where one player can win the game then please go watch BASKETBALL because this is FOOTBALL and one player can not win a game. I swear if it was Brady or some other “GOOD” Qb back there today, everyone would say our problem is the O-line not Qb… same old shit… Let the guy play! Please know a least something about football before making a comment about football. And I am not saying smith is the answer but he is the best we have and he did all that any qb can do with this O-line we have. Smith is a football player and in football it takes more than ONE PLAYER! And to all you haters that just have it in your blood to hate the guy so be it, and im not a smith fan but i am a 9ers fan and I always see the guy play and i with him the best, but let me be the first to say it, I hope the niner do cut the guy so he can play on a team that knows how to throw the ball so he can stick it in your hating ass! I am out…. RED AND GOLD 4 LIFE!!

    • Joe Gomez

Dude I suggest you look up his career stats and tell us all why we should love this guy..hahahaha.. we just want to win period and so do you.. yah its a team sport.. but how many times do we have to watch inaccurate passes? 4 years not long enough for you,, 5 years? 6 years? C’mon now.. NFL stands for NOT FOR LONG.. you know the only reason hes still ont he roster is because hes a number one overall pick and hes McClueless’s pet project. What other NFL team is gonna make Alex a starter? Hes not even better than most backups.. Is he better than Chad Henne from Miami? Fuck no hes not.. so wake up and smell the coffee motherfucker, hes not very good!!!!

  • NinerPaul

Wow? Did you listen to Sings post Game comments? “I thought the offense for the most part looked sharp” Now I think he might be a little off on that. Statisticle Comments from NFL.com >> “San Francisco was just 2 of 10 on third down, including 0 for 7 in situations of third-and-10 or longer. The 49ers’ inability to convert on key situations hurt their chances to win.” I think Sing may want to take those comments back………

  • A True Niner Fan

bottom line is that defense played well enough to win today but the offense didnt show up…..besides Frans long run and that 1 2 minute drill the Offense was horrible…no scores in the second half I hate to say I told you so what did you think was gunna happen with Alex Smith back there…where was the 3 touchdown performance from the texans game????? he still was freaking out on certain pass rushes still threw a pick it was the same ol Alex besides the 2 minute drill….its funny how everyone is blaming the OC now….saying Alex didnt get the spread offense and trys he should have? thats krazy he had his chances and he just didnt capitalize,Shaun Hill did more at the begining of the season with less trys in the same run style offense. Im not saying hes our future but I am saying he deserved to play this season out as the starter because he had earned it no matter what…..when Alex was losing all the seasons nobody pulled him out 6th game in. to be honest if there not gunna let Hill play then I would rather see Nate Davis in there …at least he has an excuse and will gain exp.

    • Niner Pundit

Dude give it up. Bottom line, Hill sucks. And yes I blame the OC. I blamed the shitty playcalling when Hill was in and I'll continue to do the same with Smith in. Smith gives us a much better chance to win than Hill does. It's clear the offense at least gets opened up a little more with Smith back there than with Hill. I could just have imagined how worse the offense would have been with Hill back there.

And no one pulled Smith out because Nolan was the coach. Not sure but if Singletary was HC back when Smith was the starter he might have pulled him.

      • Joe Gomez

Hill AND Smith both suck Pundit.. though I agree Smith can throw it downfield better and thats why hes prone to more INT's. Any stud FA QB's out there next year or maybe the kid from USC can come out early ala Mark Sanchez. Im tired of mediocre quarterbacking.. its pathetic. Smith couldnt break 200 yards in a whole game?

        • Billy

Gomez, long time no talk haha, Im not much of a college guy but I do know my USC players considering I go there…Mark Sanchez was overrated from the get go, but Im loving Matt Barkley but he cant declare early since he is a freshman sadly

          • Billy

Just looked it up, hes a Junior, Tyrod Taylor and hes progressing as a passer, think Micheal Vick but better passer. I saw some videos on Youtube guy can throw and is pretty fast was in heisman talk, doubt it with two straight losses now. Ironic he has similar skill set to Vick

          • Joe Gomez

Hey whattup Billy, yeah the kid can play. Man il take anybody over what we have now. Does any other NFL team have suck sorry ass QB’s? Smith and Hill are terrible. I wish Nate can get in there and prove hes our best QB. What do you think of these names?…. BRADFORD-CLAUSEN-MCCOY-TEBOW

Which one would you go with?

          • Billy

Like I said dont know much of anyone outside USC, personally all those big names I think are overrated from what Ive seen Bradford was pretty legit till he got injured I believe same as Smith so pretty risky. I suppose McCoy from Texas, but Ive seen the QB from Virginia Tech in two games he looks pretty good

          • Joe Gomez

VT huh? Il keep a watch on him.

          • Hunterboyz

Dude… I'd take Clausen, or the qb from byu…

Don't buy in to these program generated qb's…

they are just a product of the system…

        • redandgold

hahahaha this guy is hella funny.. and hill has not went over 200 yds in 6 games hahaha. Smith went over 200 in one half!! and 3 yds away from going over 200 today. I love “real die hard 49ers fans” hahaha. its good to have you back Gomez, I must say I miss ur bitching… from what i remember you were the one that hated when they got sing, then the 9ers started winning, then u were back on sing’s nuts… haha just bitching bitching bitching….

          • Joe Gomez

Fuck you homo I never botched about Sing. And yes he got 200 in one half wen the fucking team was up 21 already big differnce asshole. That’s prob the first time in his entire life he ever did that. Still what’s his winning pct in his career?? Hahaha it’s fucking pathetic. Numbers don’t lie. Even Shaun who isn’t that good has a way better win pct. That’s what counts right? WINS!!’

So you see, Alex has a nice tight spiral and throws with velocity. What good is it if it’s not accurate? What good is it if your not leading your team to wins?? See my point yet dipshit?? Hahaha. Let’s see how your boy does next few games, you act like he’s gonna take us to the playoffs the way you suck on his nuts so much. Are you related to him or something??? Hahaha.

          • NinerPaul

Honestly Red and Gold you need to check your stats before you say comments like this here’s the box score from Game one of the season against AZ.

            Team Leaders
            Passing: Shaun Hill 209
            Rushing: Frank Gore 30
            Receiving: Isaac Bruce 74

    • redandgold

hahahah… Manning didnt get one TD, and with more att’s than smith so whats ur point??? And Manning has a better team.. haha its funny how ppl just comment and dont think. just for your info smith threw for 198 yds and thats better than what hill did all year hahaha.. I love haters your my only drive and im sure you will also make smith a better player with all ur hating… I’m so glad tools like you dont work for no NFL team cause you would make AL Davis look good

      • Joe Gomez

Dude why the fuck do you love Alex so much? Were you around for the last 5 fuckin years? HAHAHAHA… whats he ever done? Your getting happy for 198 yards? Thats pretty pathetic. Tell me something, has Alex in his whole entire fucking life ever broke 300? Tell me another thing, whos winning percentage is better, Alex or Hill? hahaha.. now what moron,,, just shut the fuck up already you dont know what the fuck your talking about. Hill didnt get 4 years worth of fucked up QB'ing before he was yanked.. the dude got half a season. If all the QB's got as many chances as Alex Smith got, who knows maybe Ryan Leaf would still be in the league. So quit your Alex Smith bandwagon party already cause us real die hard 49ers fans are about to throw up. Like I said, pull up his numbers and hang it up on your wall, and then go ask yourself why you love this guy so much. There are plenty of other QB's that can run our offense better than Alex. I know for sure Nate is better than Alex and hes our fucking 3rd stringer. #1 overall pick and couldnt even beat out a journeyman in Hill? Thats downright a NFL crime right there..LMFAO!

        • redandgold

lol computer gangsta huh… M point is that im a smith lover, because im not, but he is better than hill if you like it or not. The best hill did as far as throwing was 182 yds is my point. Back in 06 when smith had an OC he was top 10 in qb rating and hill will never do that with a better team… Look, I can on here talking to you about the same shit over and over again and just going to act all hard talking shit back with your smith hating shit, and I told you before im not a smith lover i just know he is better than hill so go head and waste ur time with ur computer gangsta shit talking shit. “us real die hard 49ers fan” hahahaha ok homie. Never did i say he was the answer all im saying is he is better than hill and even you “real die hard 49ers fan” know that.

Keep computer gangsta “real die hard 49ers fan” lol

          • Joe Gomez

Hey RednGold, where the fuck do you get your NFL information from guy, Pop Warner stats??? LOL In 2006 you claim Alex was top ten in QB rating?? WTF???!!

For your information in 2006 which I would agree was his best year he was NOWHERE CLOSE to top ten. At a QB rating of 74.8 he was #22 among QB's. So where did you get top ten from? You talkin out your ass as usual? LMFAO!

          • Joe Gomez

Point taking. Sorry for the language but these Smith lovers are ridiculous. Yah I can see why you say that, he throws downfield and Hill doesn’t. Let me ask you this: WHENS THE LAST TIME WE WON A GAME WITH ALEX??

Shaun is a weak QB I agree with you, but his win pct tops Alex by a mile. Personally I would rather see Nate over the two of them. Hell if Sanchez can tear it up as a rookie why couldn’t Nate fo it. That disability doesn’t affect his football play. I’m sure he has most the playbook down by now.

          • NinerPaul

Red you are tripping >> You said Alex is better than Hill that is a fucking riot!!!!!! In every statisticle average catigory Hill is better ohh and how about winning percentage not even fuckin remotly close…. I hate to get personal but you remind me of a dude that is in love with a chick because she “LOOKS” Better. She may be a lazy and complain, but you thinks she a better chick cause she “LOOKS” better, rather than a chick that cooks, cleans, and may help pay some fucking bill’s and is average looking. Your like “I’ll take the good looking one” even though your life will suck…… I admit I’m a Hill supporter. Actually let me clarify that I’m a combonation (Hill and Mike Martz together) supporter (remember the success and you can look up the offensive numbers to prove my point), But thats not going to happen this year, so at this point put in Nate if Alex cant get it done again the 1 and 6 Titan’s against a QB that also has one start and something to prove …. I think this will close the chapter on this years OC and QB contraversy if it isn’t already getting there.

      • Billy

Defense did a great job, Im not a hater of Smith but bashing Hill is ignorant as well…

“funny how ppl just comment and dont think. just for your info smith threw for 198 yds and thats better than what hill did all year”

Obviously it is Smiths first official start of the year, and he is probably capable of being better but you said somthing “without thinking” Hill actually had better stats against ARI and MIN. We are all 49er fans why would we “hate” Smith? Doubt his abilities, yes history would say so. Even if you were being sarcastic you still contradict yourself.

Personally Ive never supported Smith, I wanted Rodgers but if he wins us games I wont complain.

      • Joe Gomez

But did he lead us to a win? No he did not. Atleast Hill got us a few wins.

        • redandgold

hahahah ok guys i am sorry. But that smith lover shit is disrespecting and would rather not go down that lane. Look, all im saying is teams already know what hill can do and cant do so we got the best we will ever get out of hill, so why not atleest let smith play some games before you talk shit. how the hell was that lose on smith?? he did what he could and as a team we didnt have what it takes to close games thats it!

  • dosia510

shitty fuckin play calling. i just wanna know how many fucking draw plays is it gonna take for raye to realize IT WASNT WORKING! after gore got that big run from a draw play, it seemed they kept goin back n back n back to the fuckin draw play to the point the colts D sniffed it out everytime! i hope jimmy raye tears his acl when boarding the plane ride home….

    • Billy

Norv Turner is the answer at OC!!!

    • NinerPaul

Ha HA thats funny !!!!! The torn ACL Ha Ha thats a good one….

  • NinerPaul

Sing go get Mike Martz from the NFL Network! Come on! Its not to Late!

  • Ramaros

Ok, so i skimmed through all the comments and the thing im getting is that Joe.. you suck at arguing, one.. you take it personal.. hence the fuck you homo response.. But now I feel like throwing in my two cents and i really would like you to respond.

Alex Smith has not lived up to the hype… He hasn’t, but you’re throwing the blame solely on him.. Every year he started, it was with a different OC with a different system…. Look at all the successful QBs in the NFL and look how many times their system changes.. Chances are you won’t find many.. Also consider the last two years, Mike Nolan, who was a TAD BIT better than Dennis Erickson. Nolan for some odd reason HATED Smith, putting him on IR for a broken pinkie.. this was in week 2 i believe.. correct me if i am wrong please but If thats the injury i recall(im not looking any of this up, going off of memory) i dont believe its season ending.

And now for your brees comment, Lets say we picked up brees and not smith. Whose to say he’d even do good here? he was mediocre in SD… You keep preaching stats, but in the long run it comes down to system and situations. When coming from behind, Smith guns it, I mean he shines! when we’re ahead, the OCs don’t give him the chance to gun it… Look at when an OC gave him a shot on every down (Turner) we finished 7-9 i believe. that was after two 4-12 seasons.

yes smith has less than 200 yrds, thats good for us though, THIS IS A RUN BASED TEAM.. Give him a Good OC that stays for longer than a yr and Alex with preform

    • redandgold

I hear you brother, but its all good, but lets just put all the blame on our best qb.

    • Joe Gomez

Oh so what give him another 2-3 years is what your saying?? Haha cmon dude quit making excuses for the guy. He’s had way over 800 pass attempts already and not many wins. Excuses are like assholes, everyone has one. It’s either you have it or you don’t. FYI Brees was very good with SD also, are you kidding me? Look it up guy. They had Rivers in the wings so they made their move. Trust me, if Brees could do that with the Saints talent on offense what do you think he would fo with Vernon and Crabtree? Hahaha cmon guy your notaling sense.

    • Ramaros

so out of everything that was said your only response was his attempts and my excuses.

From what i was able to find brees has probably 2 good yrs with SD, and if you look at their records, that negates it..

the point that needs to be made is this is as much the teams fault as it is alex smiths fault that we lost. If you want we can go out and pay someone that you think will better suit this team 100+ million dollars and then we can watch the same errors/mistakes get made..

  • http://www.49ersnews.com John

I have a question for Jimmy Raye at his next Conference:

    Jimmy: “Hello Everyone.”

Myself: “Jimmy, Why run a FB Draw on 2nd & 10?”

Jimmy: “Well, we felt that it would surprise the D a little bit.”

    Myself: “And you were wrong?”

    Jimmy: “Correct”

Myself: “This team has showed it can play with anyone in the League. Unfortunately, your Offensive Philosiphy is so predictable and holding back this team’s potential/talent! Fair Assessment?”

Jimmy: “Well, we Love Moral Victories! Can you ask for anymore?”

  • http://www.49ersnews.com John

Seriously tho if we open up our offense more these final 9 games, we should win this division. 6-3 during these final 9 games is very reachable. I still see 9-10 wins this year IF we win the games we are “SUPPOSED” to win. Simple as That!

Hey everyone, this guy redngold claims Alwx Smith was TOP TEN in QB rating in 2006! Hahaha. Any other Alex lover agree with that??!!

Sorry Alex fans, he was #22 with a 74.8 QB rating which was his best year by far. Top Ten? Hahaha. Redngold if you keep talking out your ass i’m gonna have to ask you to submit to a drug test. LMFAO!!!!

hahahahaha good shit thats funny… Ok I was wrong but i got the balls to say im wrong. I just want to ask one thing, do you really think hill is better than smith? And im not trying to disrespect you so dont disrespect me, i am not a smith lover so stop your shit talking. I dont want to make it bigger than what it is "football"

All I can say is they both are not the answer. We need to get a real QB next year from somewhere. Hill has an ugly ball but his winning pct is pretty good. Alex has a nice strong spiral but his passes are mostly “too high” or “behind” they are hard to catch and easy to pick. You already know his winning pct. It’s pathetic. So yah, il roll with Alex this year because he’s our QB for now, but both these QB’s belong holding a clipboard. I want to see what Nate can do because I know he can move this teams offense. He just needs a chance. Maybe when we are eliminated from playoff contention he’ll get his chance. So your not a Smith lover? My bad then, you sure as hell was sounding like one! Top ten?! Hahaha.

Just a thought: Why the fuck would you have our highest paid defensive player returning punts? This is how Nate broke his shoulder, returning a punt. Isn’t Spurlock a return guy? Our personnel moves are kind of messed up. I hope Rossum doesn’t return one on us one day.

    • dosia510

he did return one when he was with pittsburg, but that was before he came here.

      • Billy

Pittsburgh you mean Buffalo, Clements gives up big plays and as we saw on Sunday no big play was made besides the trick play

        • dosia510

no i meant rossum, not clements……

    • NinerPaul

      Good point Joe….

  • NinerPaul

Funny how I always talk about Mike Martz shouldn’t of been let go and Sing talked about him in reference to throwing the ball last year in today’s monday press conference……

  • Joe Gomez

I think Martz wanted out to be honest with you. Sing probably told him “I want a smash mouth run first offense!” and Martz was probably saying.. WTF? Im outta here!!! Hahaha

    • Billy

      Norv Turner!

      • Chris Humphreys

        Mike Shanahan! best oc ever

or John Gruden! hell of an oc

        imagine the possibilities!

        • dosia510

honestly i dont think either one of those guys would take an OC job. especially not shanahan…but that would be sweeeeeet!!!!

  • NinerPaul

    I wouldn't mind Shanahan……

I still think Alex can be our QB of the future. Im not saying Im an “Alex Lover”, but just give the kid a chance. He has motivation, still only 25 years old, and has weapons around him. If the O-Line can give him time, he will play well. I still believe that Alex will be back as our starting QB next year because he is showing signs of stardom and we really dont have any other great choices. Do you guys really want to draft another QB in the 1st round in the draft and develop him for 2-3 years? Alex can be a good QB in this League if he is in the right situation. Lets see what he does in these final 9 games of the season. If we make playoffs, he is our QB of the future. If he plays well and we dont make the playoffs, it will depend on his progression and numbers he puts up. GO NINERS!!!
