49ers Sign Dre Bly
It’s official the 49ers and Dre Bly have reached a one year deal. Bly signed for the veterans minimum. Singletary has told Bly that he will have to compete for starting job opposite Nate Clements.
The 49ers are wasting no time in trying to find a replacement for injured vet Walt Harris. The 49ers are scheduled to meet with Dre Bly today.
Bly, a 10-year vet, played 2007 and ’08 with the Broncos. The club released him in February during a after the arrivals of new coach Josh McDaniels and defensive coordinator Mike Nolan.
If Bly is signed he will be expected to compete with Tarell Brown and Shawntae Spencer to play opposite Nate Clements.
