San Francisco has re-signed LB Takeo Spikes to a two-year contract, a source told FOXSports.com. Financial details weren’t immediately available.
Spikes wasn’t signed by San Francisco until the 2008 preseason but he became one of the team’s most productive defensive players. Starting alongside Patrick Willis at inside linebacker for the final 13 games, Spikes finished the season second on the 49ers in tackles with 122.
Spikes, 32, was a first-round draft pick by Cincinnati in 1998.
