Rathman Interviews for RB Coach

From Matt Maiocco’s Blog:

Former 49ers fullback Tom Rathman interviewed today for the vacant position of 49ers running backs coach, a position he held with the organization under Steve Mariucci from 1997-2002.

Rathman, who played eight of his nine NFL seasons with the 49ers, met with coach Mike Singletary and general manager Scot McCloughan.

The 49ers did not need to receive permission from the Raiders to speak with Rathman because his contract is up.

The Pundit of 49ersNews. I do what I can to supply the Niner fans with their fix.

Rathman not the only person leaving Okaland…There dropping like flies!

SEATTLE — Greg Knapp is the new offensive coordinator for the Seahawks, the first of many moves to be made by Seattle under new coach Jim Mora.

A person familiar with the hire confirmed Wednesday that the 45-year-old Knapp will leave the Oakland Raiders to reunite with Mora, Knapp's former boss in Atlanta.

The source requested anonymity because Knapp has yet to sign a contract with the Seahawks. His contract with Oakland was to run through Jan. 13, according to Raiders coach Tom Cable.

Seattle's move comes two days after Mora held his first staff meeting as the successor to Mike Holmgren. Holmgren left the Seahawks after 10 seasons when his contract expired following Seattle's 4-12 season, its first in six years without a playoff appearance.

Now here’s someone that can teach our backs ezpecially Gore how to protect the ball and stop fumbling. I remember watching a video of him back when he was a coach under Mariucci showing our running backs the most effective way to hold the ball to prevent it from getting knocked out.

And it’s just been reported that Oakland has lost it’s Defensive Cordinator Rob Ryan who is on his way to Cleveland. Wow what a bad day to be a Raider’s fan!

Couldn’t have happen to a more deserving person in “Al (the A-hole) Davis.”

After what he did to Land Kiffin, he’ll be lucky to get a high school coach to work for him! Serves him right, he needs to step down and take up needle point in a place far, far away!

Good move and now I can’t wait to see who the OC is going to be. Let’s hope a staff that will stay with the 49ers for awhile.
GO 49ERS and this year Division Champs

I can’t see why anyone would want a Raiders job after this last season…

Tom? See if you can’t return our fullback to superstar status??? Gore could use a great blocker, not to mention a receiver with good hands.
