Linehan on the List

Matt Maiocco is reporting that so far the only name that he has heard that is on the list of potential offensive coordinators is former Rams head coach, Scott Linehan.

But no interview has yet been confirmed. .

The Pundit of 49ersNews. I do what I can to supply the Niner fans with their fix.

Don't let the 49ers get SCREWED with this no body coach

  • ShaneO

    Guys,

calm down, i think most ppl are taking this the wrong way. I think just cuz he sucked as a HC with the rams doesnt mean he wont be good for us. There are a lot of guys that were great cord. but terrible HC. Ray Rhodes, Cam Cameron, norv Tunrner(lets be honest the chargers should be better than they are) romeo crunell, im sure the list goes on much longer. This could be that guy. He has a good history as a Cord, he runs the style offense that Sing wants to run, and he does it effectivly, and cuz he sucks as a HC no one will take a chance on him for a while and we could build some continuity. This is really isnt lookin too bad!

  • West

You guys are funny! Please look up a person, google his name!! He has never been a bad O.C.. I will help some of you, Type Scott Linehan O.C Vikings, then do the same but add Dolphins…. He crashed as a H.C as a Ram…. We have a H.C, Linehan wont be taking that job….He will be taking the job as a O.C, which he has proven to be good and would fit with what Sing is trying to do with our 49ers…

By the above comments besides Shane0 I wonder if some of you really even watch football!

  • seekret_sauce

    With an Optimistic view..

Cam Cameron did crappy with the Dolphins but look at what he did with the Ravens..

Linehan did crappy with the Rams..soooo yeeeaa..who knows..

  • http://golobos.com newmexicolobo

nuts and bolts…….nuts and bolts….. we are SCREWED!

  • 9ermanforlife

i think singleterry bit off more than he couldc chew with firing martz… who is this lenahan guy…. ebviosly sucks ass… horrible OC pool out there rite now.

  • Shane Roj

i kno he prob wouldnt demote himself like that but shannahan would be perfect.. run first baby thats what i need. keep shaun hill he may be lacking an arm but one thing he isnt lacking is a heart.. he has one of a bull. how sick would be romeo cronell as defensive as well,, we would easily win that division

  • ninerfaithful

look he must have been a great oc to get the rams job but we all know he was set up to fail there cause the rams are a bad football team we need a guy to to come in and focus on the task at hand and not want to leave anytime soon for a hc gig he would be that guy i like the option but again nothing is official yet…..

  • Nick

Way too freak out for no reason guys. Linehan would be an awesome choice for OC. He has done an incredible job as an OC in this league, but did a horrible job as a head coach. This proves likely to be a situation where we can keep him for at least 3 years, before people around the league forget how bad of a HC he is enough to offer him another job running a team.

    Linehan's resume:

Linehan was OC of the Dolphins for one season before taking the Rams HC job. Under Linehan, the Dolphins improved from 29th in total offense to 14th. They went from 31st in rushing to 12th. Prior to that, Linehan was Vikings OC for three seasons. In '02, the Vikings' offense was second-ranked in the league, No. 1 in rushing. In '03, the Vikings led the league in offense; in '04, the Vikings were ranked fourth in the league. He's got an impressive track record as a coordinator.

  • Niner Pundit

I agree with Nick…Linehan is a solid choice for OC.

west thanks for the stats ok ook at the proven track record on top of he is getting a vernon davis frank gore and issac bruce it could be a great hire

  • Lowrance

    We need more choices….

  • http://49ersfanboy.wordpress.com Indiana Jim

Linehan would be a fine choice.

    But Lowrance is right.

  • West

Sign Linehan and then like Mike n MD said "bring in Tom Rathman as RB Coach", what ever it takes.

  • West

Ninerfaithful…..Linehan has worked with S. Hill while with the Vikings also!!

  • http://golobos.com newmexicolobo

Has west ever stepped football field? This guy West has some jokes!!!!! Linehan sucks! So we lose Bruce huh……our WR’s arent mature enough SKIPPY. Look at the whole picture!

  • ShaneO

ok lets be honest Linehan doesnt suck.. most the comments above have been dead on and he is probably a perfect fit, who cares about bruce.. is he still a good reciever? sure, but we have guys who are ready to step in, if anything i would love to have B johnson back.. he is a younger bigger body, morgan has speed n some size, and hill is a burner who is developing, then battle will be back as a solid 3rd down reciever… we would have a little of it all, let these kids step up.

  • West

newmexicolobo… look at the whole picture? As I recall, Bruce was let go by the Rams as a salary cap move… It’s the nature of the beast, players get let go every year… According to you Linehan sucks cause he let go of Bruce. So George Seifert must suck for trading Joe Montana? SKIPPY, I’m no attorney but I know better than to bring forth a statement with no evidence… Read the statistics… the proof is in the numbers… We’re talking 9er football here so perhaps you’re better off playing on webkinz where every kid can be a kid…

  • West

Mike n MD…….FYI, on KNBR Singletary revealed he wants to talk with Raiders running backs coach also known as former 49ers fullback Tom Rathman…..NICE!!!! He neva said if it was for OC or RunningBack Coach, my hopes would be Runningback Coach….Thought’s of a rookie HC & OC doesn’t feel right…. I dont think Sing will make that move…. Looks like your Runningback Coach is on his way……Card fall n place n due time.

  • West

Mike n MD……..update Tom Rathman interviewed this morning for the 49ers' vacant running backs coaching position……… Seems like they have a plan in mind……. Think they are keeping thing quiet, different from what we got out of Nolan….

FYI, heard Nolan interviewing for DC w/Packers

  • italianjohn

No Linehan. Come on, this guy's a loser and unable to lead a group of players…he's had numerous problems with former Ram's. When your trying to build a team, organization, etc. you don't need some prima donna involved, who simply doesn't know how to work with grown men. Linehan's football skills are average at best. Jeez, I'd bring back mi amico Signor Mariucchi in a heartbeat! Mooch knows the offensive side of the game….anyone thought about talking to him?

Also, Jed, are you listening? Please, please, please bring back the old 49ers uniforms. The current uni's look horrible and carry none of the 49er tradition. The Colts, Browns, Giants, Packers, Steelers, Raiders and others, have not changed their uniforms because some marketing wizard and designer demanded it. Bring back the old winning uniforms, they look sharp and have tradition!

Jed, as Uncle Eddie D would say "buona fortuna e tradizione, solo blanco, rosso e d'oro colore." "Tutti 49ers, uso blanco, rosso e d'oro."
