MMP: What We Learned – 49ers at Bills

Dec 01, 2008 11 Comments by MMP

Since this week’s what we learned wasn’t put up after yesterday’s win, we figured we’d go ahead and have the Monday Morning Punter take care of it this week. So here is what we learned.

  • The 49ers can win early in the morning and on the East Coast.
  • For once the refs raped the other team.
  • Shaun Hill still doesn’t look polished, but he somehow finds a way to get the job done.
  • Niner fans on the East Coast came to represent.
  • The 49ers can win a game when only scoring 10 points.
  • Takeo Spikes is badass and they need to lock him up for another year.
  • Somehow they found a way to convert every third down on the opening scoring drive.
  • This was the best defensive performance on the road since a 38-0 victory at New Orleans during the 2001 season.

    About the author

Monday Morning Punter is named after perhaps the greatest punter of our time. Andy 'The General' Lee. We'd like to thank Andy on his recent Pro Bowl selection and we know deep down inside he made it just for us.

We also learned D. Zeigler needs more seasoning. Let him play more this year to prepare him for next.
For once, I found myself screaming at the screen, and tense on most every play, as I was in the good ole days!
Was Buffalo defensive line that bad, or did our guys block for the first time all year?

      Others:
It’s nice to see Norv Turner lose yet a again!
And the Raiders? Oh look we still have a chance to take this division!!! LOL…not if you can’t beat KC!

    3. Lowrance says:

      and oh yeah.
When Bruce scored that TD and tried handing it to the 49er fan. The fan should have popped that asshole who knocked the ball to the ground, right in the mouth.

It was a well played game

Lowrance, Buffalo’s defensive line was missing their only pass rush guy, but they can stop the run really well with Stroud in the middle, one of the reasons Frank had a rough day.

That was a crappy game. It was a game of ‘who wants it less’. Thanks to some bad coaching decisions and a couple of missed field goals, we were able to pull out of there is a W. Don’t get me wrong, I’ll take a win any sunday, but that game showed how much we need to work on like:
-creating some kind of pass rush
-finding a way to teach Gore how to secure the football
-find a safety that can actually cover
-create game time drills for the coaches (how you don’t let the clock run down before calling a time out then kick the field goal before the half mystifies me).

    6. Lowrance says:

MSouza, thanks for that reminder. I now remember them saying that on pregame.

    7. Lowrance says:

And Pundit? Can we knock the Cowboys pic and article off the top spot when we open the page to stay current please? =) Thanks

    8. Niner Pundit says:

Lowrance….I’ll see what I can do.

    9. Lowrance says:

      Thanks Pundit.
We have a win. Let’s enjoy the winning featured article as long as we can, LOL!
(Besides I’m sick of looking at the damn Cowboys!)
