MMP: Hey they Won in the Stats Column

We\'ll always have Parys

We'll always have Parys

If only the outcomes of games were based on paper, the 49ers would be 1-0. Unfortunately they are not.

  • It appears that the 49ers will likely bring in another quarterback to fill Alex Smith’s spot, since it looks like he may be done for the season. (Bring in Lorenzen)
  • Special teams not so special (Where’s Hicks when you need him? Relax, I’m kidding)
  • There is a bright side to the loss. One step closer on firing Mike Nolan. (Nice second half adjustments Mike)
  • Another bright side is at least they aren’t the Rams. (Of course I’ll be singing a different tune if they lose to the Rams)
  • 49ers will start preparing for the Seahawks. (Who actually look worse off than the 49ers)
  • May the 49ers actually have a pass rusher? (Please Parys keep it up)

Monday Morning Punter is named after perhaps the greatest punter of our time. Andy 'The General' Lee. We'd like to thank Andy on his recent Pro Bowl selection and we know deep down inside he made it just for us.

Tough to blame a receiver for an interception, but Arnaz Battle’s non-play on the 2nd quarter interception was brutal. He didn’t come back for the ball at all. He just kind of loafed at the end of his route and let the safety come in and take it away. Compare that to the way Plaxico Burress catches the ball while running full-speed towards his quarterback, and it becomes easy to see that Battle just isn’t very good.

Yeah, with the Rams & Seahawks having such horrible games yesterday, the Niners had a golden opportunity to lead this division. Instead, they handed that to the Cards. Sad.

So, why did Haralson get so much playing time in this game? Are they finally pulling Banta-Cain? I hope so, because Parys seemed like a much better pass rusher yesterday than Banta-Cain ever was.

Rob…if I’m not mistaken TBC was inactive.

  4. Adam49 says:

Because Manny Lawson sucked ass.Haralson put constant pressure on the QB.Lawson didn’t do shit. And i see why we picked up Justin Smith. The man is an animal.

  5. James Jones says:

It didn’t really appear to me that Manny was rushing Warner that much yesterday. Might have been my eyes deceiving me though.

  6. Adam49 says:

If Lawson didn’t rush the passer it’s probably because he can’t.He get’s stuffed at the line everytime.Haralson looks like the better all around player of the 2.And Rodrick Green looks like someone I think should start at OLB also.

  7. James Jones says:

I don’t believe Parys to be better in coverage then Manny. Give the guy a break man, he was getting doubled and chipped the times he did come in. Some might look at Harralson’s performance and think that Manny garnering the attention he did helped to free up Parys to get to the QB. Dude is coming off a bad knee injury, he’ll be fine.
