Beasts and Bitches: Lions @ 49ers
Here are Beasts and Bitches for Week 3. The 49ers beat the Lions 31-13 to improve to 2-1.
Beasts
- JT O’Sullivan: Finished the day with a rating over 120 and for the second week in a row did not turn the ball over.
- Frank Gore: Finished the day with over 120 rushing and one score. Gore ranks in the top 5 in rushing after this week.
- Defensive backs: Clements, Brown and Harris deserve praise for shutting down Calvin Johnson, Roy Williams, and Shaun McDonald. I believe they combined for 8 catches.
- Justin Smith: Finished the day with one sack, one forced fumble, and one interception. Smith was all over the field on Sunday.
- Offensive Line: Last week they were bitches, but this week they improved at home and helped Gore get over 100 and only allowed one sack opposed to eight.
- Mike Nolan/Mike Martz: Nolan says it was his decision, but not sure how much weight Martz had on the play. 4th and goal and 49ers decide to go for 6 instead of 3. Gamble paid off.
Bitches:
- Vernon Davis: Stone Hands, The Brick, Butterfingers, Alligator Arms, so many to choose from. This week Davis played like crap and couldn’t catch anything.
- Joe Nedney: Don’t get me wrong I like Nedney, but for the second week in a row he missed a field goal and also believe he didn’t get any kickoffs past the 15.
