Dr O’Jekyll and Mr O’Hyde
I’ve been reading the comments on this board and I’ve read where JT O’Sullivan is compared to Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde. Which if you think about it, that’s fits to a ‘T.’ I know it has only been two preseason games and Sully hasn’t had enough time to show his skills, but is this really the guy to lead this team?
Through roughly four quarters Sully is 13 for 25, 225 yards, 1 touchdown and 1 int. Numbers wise the best that has been put out there, but hey he has got the benefit of playing with the first team. There is a reason this guy has been on 6-7 teams in six years.
The Dr. Jekyll side of him is throwing passes right to the opposing teams, lobbing passes that will get a runningback killed, and when he seems to do something right, it seems more of a receiver making a great play (see Josh Morgan) than it is on Sully.
The Mr. Hyde side of him we saw in the second quarter. He was 3 for 3 and drove the team 92 yards for their first touchdown, but majority of those yards came thanks to Foster.
I will not keep boring you all with my analogy, but I’m hoping Nolan and Co. give Smith the start against the Bears and see how he handles the first string. Out of the three I’m still in Smith’s corner and I seriously believe once he gets Martz system down, he’ll be lighting it up.
