Faulk: “All Built Around Gore”

Jun 10, 2008 132 Comments by Niner Pundit

Today the NFL Network and Marshall Faulk were on hand at the 49ers practice and it seemed that everyone was gravitating to Faulk. During his time at the practice Faulk stressed that Gore’s role will be more important due to the inexperience of the 49ers’ QB’s. He compared it to his early days in St. Louis.

“It was all on me,” Faulk said. “Frank is going to be the guy, the core. It’s all going to be built around him.”

  1. Medford says:

Willis is rated a 96 though

  2. Ryan the 1st says:

Did you hear that TBC and Rachal got into a major scuffle at practice a few days back. I gues Rachal threw him around like a “rag doll”. I read it on either Maiocco’s site or Barrows’….I can’t remember.

  3. seahawk insider says:

There you guy’s go.Talking about Madden.Searching for a code to juice up Alex Smith. What a joke!! Willis 96 rated.I wonder if i can run reverses with him.lmfao, an Adam49 please dont compare, an stop living in the past. You may not say it on this site but when you see the schedule you hate that you have to play almighty SeaHawks. You wish you had an QB such as ours or even an O.LOL nice try Simp.

  4. Samra says:

Hey Seahawks Insider…u know whats funny is that last year some bitch ass rams fan used to come on and talk some mighty shit…until well they ended up not winning any games for the first half of the season…come on man u dont want to jinx your poor seachickens do u…i mean no run game, lame WRs other than deion branch, no TE, a weak o-line other and walter jones near the end of his career, and a sorry ass defense…seems like u guys got alot goin for u huh??? LMAO hope Julius jones can run cuz u guys wont be able to hide from my boy Bam Bam

  5. niner fan says:

GO BACK TO THE SEACOCKSUCKERS SITE AND PLAY WITH MATT HASSLEFAGS BALLS SOME MORE.

  6. Ryan the 1st says:

Wow, that was a deep comment. A 96 rating sounds fair since he is the better linebacker between him and Tatupu. If you don’t like the 96 rating then why don’t we refer to .96 which is probably close to what Tatupu’s blood alcohol content was during his DUI…..what an idiot. Enjoy your time now because as soon as Holmgren leaves you guys are SCREWED!!! I wouldn’t be surprised if you guys get unseated this year. You keep losing talent on offense and stay the same on defense. So while you will have a good defense you will have an injured Branch, Julius Jones, and a couple of overrated receivers that will have to pick up the pace for Branch who is expected to be injured into this coming season. Branch isn’t sounding like he is likely to play against the niners. BLITZ, BLITZ, BLITZ!!!!

  7. AXEGRINDER says:

Good post, Medford. All’s you have to do is make the playoffs the year before and you’ll get a 90+ rating the following year. Madden ratings are bullshit for the most part, just look at the sorry ass Redskin’s 88 rating. I mean, the Rams suck REAL bad and they got a 77 rating. Those people at EA Sports don’t factor in offseason acquisitions or coaching changes. I’ll still whoop on fools online with the Niners no matter what their rating is.

And as for this Seacocks asshole……your team has been a perennial loser ever since they have been in the league!! Going to the Super Bowl and LOSING doesn’t give you any kind of bragging rights. It’s alright dude, some teams are just NOT MEANT TO WIN THE BIG GAME. Your reign atop this sorry division is OVER. It’s 49er time now dickhead.

  8. seahawk insider says:

Samra, we dont believe in jinx. And please dont talk about Offenses, do you even know what one is. Thanks for keeping us in the playoffs year after year.

  9. seahawk insider says:

Come on Ryan, “I wouldn’t be surprised if you guys get unseated this year. You keep losing talent on offense and stay the same on defense,” is that the best you can do. Spoken like a true niner fan, “I wouldnt be surprised if the seahawks are unseated” wha wha wha, you are not sounding to sure of your team. An if you have to wish for injuries how good are you guy’s. Maybe ever team in the NFL will becomed injured so the niners can slip into a wildcard slot. There you go Ryan, great way to show your team spirit. Fans like yourself is why people call them the forty whinners.

  10. seahawk insider says:

AXEGRINDER keep playing Madden kid. We own the niners, you will never see the playoffs again if you can not get past us. Deal with it. You fans can not be that dumb. AXEGRINDER did you trade Alex Smith yet or are you tring to build up his rating hoping it will tranfer over to real life. It’s okay my son, it’s okay.

  11. seahawks insider says:

Anyways im back from being fucked by father while licking my grandmother’s asshole. The bottomline is Matt Hasslebeck refused to join in my orgy so fuck him. I see what you mean Samra, Dieon Branch is hurt and probaly wont get better. Nate Burleson sucks but the 30 million we payed to get him was totally worth it because as I personally have witnessed black people have big dicks. Except Shaun Alexander, he was a pussy on and off the feild, but i guess some of the straight people might of had fun with that bitch. And Axegrinder im sorry for hating on you man it’s just that the penny you paid my mother last night doesnt cover the cost of madden, I mean its not your fault I have to sleep naked with my brother just to generate some heat if you know what I mean.

  12. Samra says:

LMAO!!! man i feel it for u seacocks fan… not only hasnt your team ever won a superbowl but you also fuck ur brother…thats some fucked up shit i’d prolly kill myself if i were u bro…

  13. Samra says:

The San Francisco 49ers announced Tuesday that they claimed and were awarded third-year DT LaJuan Ramsey off waivers from the Philadelphia Eagles. Ramsey was waived by Philadelphia on June 12.

Ramsey (6-3, 300) was originally drafted in the sixth-round of the 2006 draft by Philadelphia out of USC. He played in six games as a rookie in 2006 and nine games last season. Ramsey was part of two national championships during his college career at USC.

  14. seahawk insider says:

Samera, u feel what for me bro.

  15. seahawk insider says:

And Samera why would you post under my name Simp.

Also Ramsey will not make the team, there is a reason why he is always waived kid. “all happy for nothing”

  16. niner fan says:

seacock insider go talk about matt hasslefag and deion bitch with your

  17. niner fan says:

    sick ass family.

  18. seahawk insider says:

Naw lets talk about your TED linebacker position. If only Spikes would sign. Ulbrich could be great, “right” LMFAO.

  19. niner fan says:

naw lets talk about the last seacock superbowl win

  20. Samra says:

man why would u go talkin shit on urself seacock fan and then blame it on me…u nasty ass fuck…and i know the seacocks are sorry and all and it prolly depresses u but get a life this is a niners site…

  21. West says:

Personally I would hope Dontarrious Thomas could fill the Ted linebacker position….. He is an athlete, just hope the mental part of the game doesn’t limit Thomas. ……… Ulbrich has made a name on special teams but was really all over the field and I would like it to stay the same…….. Strenghten our team all around. …….Spikes is any OLB that I don’t believe wants to take the pounding of a TED……. Spikes also may want to play for a team like the Patz, and try and get a fast ring like J. Seau tried.. .. .Ezra Butler is also a player I hope we hold on to, I don’t see him starting but could add to the team….

  22. Samra says:

hey west…ezra butler got cut a while back man for the DUI or some shit

  23. seahawk insider says:

West good job no disrespect, but YES we have one intelligent post. There is actually one niner fan on this site that knows about football and not to mention his team. WOW

  24. niner fan says:

no one wants to hear from you seacock insider so get your tongue out of your moms ass and keep wishing you had a championship team to root for. you do not know shit about the niners or the game of football so fuck off you piece of shit seahawk fan.

  25. Samra says:

hahaha man seacock fan ur too funny man…ur as lame as ur team…your comebacks are as stale as the food stuck underneath mike holgren belly…

  26. AXEGRINDER says:

    Hey Seacocksucker,

First of all, I ain’t your son so quit wishing that I was. Second, I’ll keep playing Madden, I don’t need your fucking permission. Third, what the fuck is a “simp” anyway? Is that some kind of retarded Seattle grunge jargin? Maybe you should blow your own head off like every other depressed chump in your piece of rainy shit city. You fags can’t even hold on to a basketball team. Remember when the Niners marched into your house on national television and ran for 106 yards in the 4th quarter alone? That was pretty funny. What was even funnier than that was when Alex Smith faked the whole stadium out and walked into the endzone. Even funnier than that was you stupid ass, beads wearin’, wigs sportin’ makeup havin’, faggot seacock fans couldn’t say shit. Stunned silence. Thought you guys were Super Bowl contenders? What a fucking joke. You asswipes can’t even say “Super Bowl”. Even last year when that fat fuck Rocky Benard sat on Alex Smith, I was still mouthin’ off, and I won’t fucking stop. Even your own coach is done with you losers. He’ll be back in SF where he belongs soon enough.

Oh yeah, you said “thanks for keeping us in the playoffs year after year”. That’s right, I’ll admit we have had a few down years. And that’s the ONLY reason you terds have seen the playoffs. Too bad you can’t fucking win once you get there.

  27. West says:

It’z over for da Lakers……Loving it!!If my Warriors dont make it, next best thing is to see da Lakers go home….

  28. AXEGRINDER says:

    Got that right, West.

  29. Kevan Barlow says:

  32. Samra says:

MotherFucken Kevan Barlow…Fuck you you bitch ass faggot…what the fuack is ur problem with me bitch cuz if there is one motherfucker ill knock some sense into ur 10 year old bitch ass…waz up then bitch???

  33. seahawk insider says:

  35. ninerfaithful says:

  39. bonerjams_03 says:

As the 49ers’ practices wind down this week, the quarterback competition is only heating up.

After the final organized team activity Thursday, the coaching staff will spend the next month or so figuring out a tentative pecking order for when training camp kicks off July 24.

All indications are that Alex Smith will get the first crack with the starting unit. He played well during the organized team activities and drew praise from Coach Mike Nolan on Tuesday for his improved ability to handle the blitz.

But, at best, Smith’s name will be written in light pencil.

Shaun Hill and J.T. O’Sullivan also have a shot at the starting job.

“The pleasing thing to me is that we have three guys who can win a game for us,” Nolan said.

No final decision on a starter needs to be made, of course, until the regular season opens Sept. 7 against the Arizona Cardinals.

But Nolan wants a plan for how much time each quarterback will spend with the first-team offense at the start of training camp. If the 49ers alternate too often, they run the risk of another season with the offense out of sync.

Linemen need to get used to a quarterback’s rhythm barking out signals; receivers need to develop chemistry on routes. Those elements take on extra importance under new offensive coordinator Mike Martz, whose schemes rely on precision and timing.

“At some point, you have to decide who is going to take more reps. You have to do that in fairness

    ——————————————————————————–

    ——————————————————————————–
to the other players who are out there,” Nolan said.
The coach stopped short of naming names, but Smith left a positive impression during the OTAs with his improved reads.

Martz has challenged Smith to be more aggressive against the blitz. Instead of always checking down and worrying about protection, Smith is learning that blitzes can sometimes be exploited for a big play.

He’s getting rid of the ball more quickly – to the so-called “hot read” – and throwing with more confidence.

“He’s doing things in practice I haven’t seen him do before,” Nolan said.

Smith, about to begin his fourth season, said he is starting to understand Martz’s concept of organized chaos. When he first started studying game film, and saw the ball flying all over the place, Smith thought it looked free-wheeling and improvisational.

“I thought, ‘Man, it looks like a gunslinger,’ ” he said. “But it’s actually very fundamental, very thought out. Everything is done for a reason.”

The concept of using hot reads is hardly revolutionary – except, perhaps, for recent 49ers teams. Tight end Vernon Davis said Tuesday that he couldn’t remember being the target of a hot read last year.

He’s glad Martz is resolving the problem.

“A lot of big plays come from hot routes,” Davis said. “I’m excited about our offense.”

    • The 49ers were awarded defensive tackle LaJuan Ramsey on a waiver claim. Ramsey, who is 6-foot-3, 300 pounds, was a sixth-round pick out of USC by the Philadelphia Eagles in 2006.

He played six games as a rookie and nine last season. Ramsey played for two national title teams while with the Trojans.

    • Tackle Ramiro Pruneda was assigned to the 49ers as part of the NFL’s international practice squad program. Pruneda (6-6, 317 pounds) led Monterey Tech to four Mexican national championships.

Under the program, 16 players from around the world get a chance to spend a season as an extra man on an NFL practice squad.

    • Former Redskins defensive lineman Joe Salave’a, now an assistant coach at San Jose State, is working with the 49ers during the OTAs. “He’s going to be a heck of a coach,” Nolan said.

  40. Packfan#4rules says:

You guys wish you had Aaron Rodgers this year instead of Alex Smith.Watch Aaron will tear it up.Pack in the superbowl!!!!!!!

  41. Ryan the 1st says:

You’re an idiot. I still have mixed feelings about us drafting Smith over Rodgers, but I GUARANTEE that Smith will have the better season.

  42. ninerfaithful says:

packfan- you really think the packers have faith in rodgers?

thats why brian brohm is on the roster there is no way rodgers will even come clost to 13-3 season repeat

i do think rodgers has alot of potential but the niners were better off with taking smith

  43. ninerfaithful says:

why do other fans from other teams come here i know the site is off the hook but dam we need to only allow niner fans excuse me guys i need to take a seahawk and wipe with a packers fan

  44. Ryan the 1st says:

Good point, I just don’t see them repeating what they did last year, plus they have a Ryan Grant holdout problem. That isn’t going to help matters because the packers ARE arrogant and stupid enough to trust Brandon Jackson as their starter…..HA HA!!! Furthermore, Brohm is a HUGE statement from the packers. If they had a lot of faith in Rodgers they wouldn’t have drafted that guy. Alex Smith WILL have the better season.

  45. Texansfan_360 says:

Dameco Ryans is way better than Patrick Willis.

  46. Chiefs F'n rule 69 says:

Larry Johnson is an all around back.Chiefs in da superbowl!!!!!!!!

  50. Jackie Moon says:
