Training Camp Begins July 24th

The start of training camp is tied to a team’s first preseason game. So with the news that the 49ers’ preseason opener in Oakland will be on Aug. 8 came the announcement that training camp kicks off Thursday, July 24. If you’ll remember, last year training camp didn’t begin until July 29 and that Mike Nolan wasn’t thrilled about the late start. This year’s schedule should make him happier. As has been the case the last few years, 10 training-camp practices will be open to the public. Those dates have not yet been announced.

when I said main passer…..I am sorry but I am drunk and meant Dion Branch. I hear all over the sports mags and websites that his knee is REALLY BAD. Furthermore, I am hearing to not expect him back until November…….I hope that is true because by that time the niners will have already played them twice. Playing the seachickens both times without branch gives us a MAJOR advantage.

head case. He makes to many PENALTIES THAT KILL DRIVES……..The
reason I said we won’t extend his contact. Is because he’s not worth
the money. Its got nothing to do with the coach, the QB, or the OL.
Its VERNON he can’t concentrate on the task at hand. False Start,
Holding, makes a 1st down and tries to wrestle for extra yardage
with 3 or 4 tackelers on him, whops fumble. (I think that happened
2 or 3 times, last year alone.) Hes suppose to be a freak for his
position. Well Vernon its time to man up.

Vernon Davis has been in an helter skelter situation since joining the 49ers. He’s like a lot of newer players to the league, he had trouble with his playbook, plus the 49ers. play in the loudest conference(Three(3) dome stadiums, which are conducent to offside penalties. Now all he needs is to get some positive rythmn, with his new playbook. You’ll see, he’s in the same category as far as I’m concerned, as any pass catching TE in the NFL, that includes, KC: Gonzales, Titans: Crumpler, Giants: Shockey, Cowboys: Witten, etc. These tightends are an integral part of their teams offensive packages. V.Davis hasn’t been a part of those type packages, since he arrival. Plus he’s faster than any NFL TE. He’s a more fierce blocker than any of the above. This isn’t an excuse, but fact. Martz is into making V.Davis/D.Walker, into H-back/TE combos, thus putting them in motion, or 5-yrds. off the tackle. Vernon Davis, hasn’t even began to touch his skill potential. Nolan/Martz/Murasky etc. will be long gone, before V. Davis or A.Smith are even thought of, as, [someone] to get rid of. You don’t like him, because he plays to the whistle, and fumbles sometimes or gets a bad angle block on a LB. and gets a holding call sometimes. He has been under utilized, not only as a TE, but as a lead blocker. I’m thinking of all those first downs, where he struggled and never fumbled. THE FREAK is about to morph into the player they drafted, in a scheme that’s made for him. yea jgomez, you’ve been talking about NAMES, and not the GAME, you talk about a falty system/names already done away with. Instead of where the new Martz guided 49ers are going in 2008. Bottom line chumps. THIS YEAR DAVIS, HASN’T PLAYED PAST THE WHISTLE, HASN’T HELD ANYONE, HASN’T FUMBLED. So as of September 2008, He’s still young and enthusiastic. Old things have passed away, and all things have become new.
