Niners Sign More Camp Fodder

Mar 25, 2008 15 Comments by FNN Staff

The 49ers have signed free-agent guard Jeb Terry, who has played in 30 NFL games with one start. Terry was a fifth-round draft pick (No. 146 overall) of the Buccaneers in 2004 from North Carolina. He was cut during training camp last year and was out of the league.

Terry (6-5, 311) played 10 games for Tampa Bay in 2006. He played all 16 games in 2005, mostly on special teams. He played four games as a rookie. Terry turns 27 next month.

Terry was a fifth-round draft pick (No. 146 overall) of the Buccaneers in 2004 from North Carolina. So, hey, the 49ers might have lost a fifth-round draft pick yesterday, but they picked one up today.

I like what they are doing. I really hope they coach the new, and cheap o-linemen how to be great, and it not be the case where you get what you paid for.

It makes you ask questions like how did you find these guys?

I have another question: What ever happened to that rookie RB Clayton that we got in a late round a year ago?

Well I have confidence in the 49ers, and I pray these guys are a ready.
    GO Niners!

  4. Mike says:

If not mistaken he was cut last year and went onto the practice squad and I think we resigned him at end of season again to try to compete in camp again this year. However with Robinson getting extension and Foster coming in to compliment Gore. No real room for Clayton.

DEPTH AT O-LINE IS ALWAYS GOOD. I WISH WE COULD HAVE SIGNED A STARTER TO REPLACE LARRY ALLEN. WE STILL NEED BACK-UPS AT CENTER AND GUARD. O-LINE IS NOT THE POSITION THEY CAN AFFORD TO BE CHEAP. I HAVE A FEELING THAT SOMEWHERE DOWN THE LINE DA NINERS WILL PICK UP A GIFT AT ONE OF THOSE SPOTS. GO NINERS

  6. Tim says:

Hunterboyz any true 9ers fan would know what happened to Clayton. Stop being a poser!

  11. NinerPundit says:

Medford…nope nothing new since early in the week when I said Pats weren’t interested. Probably will not get a definite answer until after the draft maybe???

  12. ninerfaithful says:

  13. ninerfaithful says:

  14. Hunterboyz says:

    Tim,

    I am faithful 49er fan.
The last word I heard about Clayton was that he was signed.
I honestly believe he has potential.
Where I live, I get ragged on all the time for being a niners fan.
To be honest I sure I can tell you more about this team than you.
I follow them closely, so unless you live in San Francisco, I doubt if you are as faithful of a fan than I.

    ninerfaithful,
I agree, I don’t really like to see highlights of other teams on our sites.

    R,Craig33,
    Thanks for the info.

HUNTERBOYZ I AGREE CLAYTON HAS ALOT OF POTENTIAL. WE SIGNED HIM TO THE PRACTICE SQUAD SO ANTHER TEAM WOULDNT SIGN HIM, BUT RIGHT NOW HE’S AT A POSITION THAT IS FULL OF TALENT. MAYBE HE WILL GET A CHANCE AFTER THIS YEAR OR AN INJURY OCCURS.
