With the 29th Pick in the Draft…
With the Patriots and Giants winning today, the draft position for the 49ers has been set. The 49ers will be picking 29th overall in the first round. Here is how the scenario broke down. If the Packers played the Patriots in the Super Bowl, the 49ers would have picked No. 30. If the Packers played the Chargers or if the Giants played the Patriots, the 49ers would pick No. 29.
The 49ers own the Colts’ pick. The Colts, Cowboys and Packers all finished 13-3. In that tied segment, the Packers will pick last because they advanced further in the playoffs, and the Cowboys will pick before the Colts (49ers) because of a worse strength of schedule.

Brennan will be lucky if he even gets drafted and you want us to get him in the first round. Even with a stellar combine he’s not a first round pick, did you see the senior bowl, how about the Sugar Bowl? He absolutely destroyed his reputation.
Lance Briggs has missed seven games in four years, thee of them were in his rookie year, and has been named all-pro twice. I think you are confusing him with Brian Urlacher, he’s the one that is usually injured.
I’m sorry he’s actually only missed 5.
MAYBE,BUT ISNT HE MISSING THE PROBOWL RIGHT NOW BECAUSE OF A INJURY?
Yeah Briggs hurt his hip, besides he probally doesn’t give a rats ass about the Pro Bowl
We need to draft JAMES HARDY AND MAURICE PURIFY. Purify can be a sleeper pick in later rounds that we can steal because he got into some mionor off the field trouble last season in Nebraska. A Bar fight, measly barfight, nothing critical like drugs or other issues. Purify 6′4 and Hardy 6′7, all I got to say is Owe my god, mercy me! We could fix our problems immediatly. Like Rice and Dwight clark it will probably take one season to adjust to pros or maybe not. This will be a unbelievable foundation. Enough with these tiny arena receivers. We need big tall targets that will stretch above the competition!
Me and Mr. Hanke Swanke had some time to burn and we were talkin 49ner football here on the 50 yard line, Here at Superbowl Headquarters. I thought I would drop in a share some Prime Time news for my 49er Brothers. First thing you need to Know is the 49ers need a prefela of Wide Receivers to improve this team. If the 49ers want to get back into th “Prime Time” Agenda they need to go after James Hardy, or the other complementary receiver Bowen. If you do not do this my Boy Mr. Joes might show some interest. So wake up 49ers and get some Prime Time Players! Murt Agrees!
Just because a player sits out of the pro bowl doesn’t mean he is injury prone. The fact that he made the pro bowl should be a key point, and if he is hurt now, he was probably hurt during the season. He only missed two games, and neither of them were the last two so I’m guessing he played hurt.
Coolio, Colt Brennan fucking sucks cock. I don’t know how yall play football on the west coast but here in Texas he wouldn’t even be a starter for Baylor. He is not the savior! When you play against shitty ass talent like Fresno St and Navada your whole career it tends to make you look better than you really are. Didn’t Hawaii have some other dude that was the next Mr Badass and he ain’t even in the league. Watch real football on Saturday and you will see that he fuckin sucks. I meant that in the nicest way possible.
Picking up Colt Brennan would be a crapy choice. Remember the last QB from the U of Hawaii? He’s barely a backup in CFL. Also, we don’t need any QB to compete for the starting job.
Merlin,
I like both those players. Purify transfered to Nebraska from SFCC. San Francisco C.C. The way burress came up big also Tyree. We need Taller recievers. I also like Hawkins or Avery in the Second if they go OT or D in the first. They say Connor ILb Penn St might slip down to us or Grooves Olb Auburn I’d take either one.
Here’s my ideal 49er draft: 1-WR:Early Doucet, 2-DE Phillip Merling or Kentwan Balmer, 3-WR:Lavelle Hawkins or Earl Bennett, 4-OLB:Titus Brown(Go STATE!)or Tommy Blake, 5-NT:Red Bryant, 6-FS:Thomas DeCoud, 7-QB:Kevin O’Connell
And go after Lance Briggs!
There are rumors that Shaun McDonald will be traded to the Niners. Depending on what we give up, I think this would be a great trade. He is always productive in Martz’s offense and will definitely help Smith in the slot. With Battle, McDonald, and Davis, all you need is a solid #1 and it is a pretty scary offense to deal with. Now we just need a #1. Also, I would hope they wouldn’t use their first round pick on a WR and go after someone on defense.
Cal WR DeSean Jackson measured at 5′9/169 This is significant. Jackson was listed at 6′0/172 during his Cal days. Jackson could fall to the bottom of the first round. Please GOD!!! let jackson fall to us…we need him sooo badd imagine this… DEsean Jackson, Arnaz Battle Shaun McDonald (if we can trade for him)at WR, and Vernon Davis At TE and Frank Geezy in the backfeild…wow
Somebody is still going to want him for his return abiliy as well. If he falls to us he would be the perfect Martz WR and I also Like Donnie Avery he is 5′11″ 186 pounds, Jackson has been getting advice from lots of people though which give him kind of an NFL ready edge. He has gotten help and praise from Jerry Rice even, maybe that’s a hint we should get him, if he falls tou us at number 1 we will probaly take him, he has the size and speed to be a Martz WR and he is a PR/KR threat.
I like Donnie Avery more, I think it’s because he is more solidly built and looks like he can take on hits, Jackson is smaller and looks like he could get injured. If we could get both Avery and Jackson that would be nice, but Avery is a third round pick that probaly will rise after his 40 time at the combine, also Jackson could run a very low 40 time as well. Desean Jackson will probaly be a Bucaneer, next to Joey Galloway.
Sean locklear signed a 5 year deal with the Seacocks, there are no good OTs in free agency that are young, we look like we will be drafting an OL in one of our top picks. Cuz there are so many that will go in the first round that are instant starter material.
how about trading for Jonathan Vilma he was pretty solid for the Jets, I heard on NFL Netwirk that theyre asking for 3rd round pick for him
The reason Johnathan Vilma wants a trade is to get out of the 3-4 defense that he feels is holding him back. If you remember he was the Patrick Willis of his draft class his rookie year. Then they went from 4-3 to 3-4 and he fell apart. So i don’t think he’ll be calling the niners anytime soon.
Jonathan Vilma is a LB with more coverage skills than run stopping…thats why the 3-4 is a no-no for him…lol…he would be perfect for say Detroit, Tampa Bay and those Cover 2 teams
I am with Samra……leave this guy alone!!!! Plus, he just had a major knee injury. The niners better get clear of this stuff with the bears before next Friday or they are going to be screwed IF they want Briggs.
Also, I want to know what Vilma’s contract is…..a third rounder wouldn’t be bad if I knew he wasn’t coming off a MAJOR injury!!! It is too much of a gamble.
If Desean Jackon was 5′9″ then Martz and Nolan will want him because they have a soft spot for fast midgets!!!
What do you guys think about Dante’ Stallworth? Looks like NE letting him go.
I’m cool with it.
Just heard about Chicago trying to charge us with tampering with briggs. Check out the article.

Donte Stallworth is a great receiver…..when he isn’t milking injuries. We would be great for Martz system as well, but he is REALLY injury prone!!! We need receivers that will actually make it onto the field for 75% of our games. Yeah, with the Patriots he wasn’t AS injury prone as he was with the Eagles or Saints, but lets face it….that just might be because he WANTED to be on the field for that team. He is talented no doubt, but he is also a contract milker which is what many patriots websites say about him.
i think what the niner are goin to do in the first round of the draft is tht they are goin to trade there players for Two First Round Picks, i got a hutch they are goin to do tht, reason being 2006 and 2007 theve done tht soo…well see
Who would you guys rather have with our first round pick if they’re still available. Keith Rivers or Quentin Groves?
I’d rarher have Groves
