Get Cameron on a Plane Now…

Jan 03, 2008 38 Comments by Niner Pundit

Reports everywhere are saying Cam Cameron’s days as the Dolphins head coach are done. If I’m McCloughan, Nolan, or whoever the hell is actually calling the shots. As soon as the axe gets dropped on Cameron (which KNBR just reported Mort said has happened) I send a private jet, strippers, and Frank Gore down to Miami to pick up Cameron and fly him back to San Francisco and throw as much money as I can at him to become the next offensive coordinator of the 49ers.

Anything less will be a disappointment.

  1. Eric says:

Here here, that’s the way to do business. Sounds like YOU need to be the one calling the shots!

  2. PARTY BOY says:

Hell yeah son.Strippers, hookers, and Frank Gore. Can’t say no to that!

  3. Rob says:

“Anything less will be a disappointment”? I don’t know about THAT. However, Cameron would be a good fit. Heck, his offense made LT and Philip Rivers stars, maybe he can do the same here to get Gore back on track and get us a good QB. And, after his disaster of a season in Miami, he wouldn’t be leaving for a HC gig anytime soon. But, I’m sure other teams in need of an OC (like KC or Detroit) realize this, too. So, his services should be in high demand. Start working, Nolan…

  4. Lowrance says:

    NFL.com has Cameron fired… LET’S GET HIM!!!!!!!!!!!

  5. ninerfaithful4ever says:

hey we so need cam he runs that norv turner offense so we would keep the same offense however cam know how to play call unlike Hoster…….. so you guys all remember LT and Antonio Gates when Cam was oc for the chargers Can you imagine Frank And Vernon if he comes here Fucking nOlan Make the call prick go get us a OC

  6. Chris says:

Yes i must agree with you all about Cam, but if nolan slips on this one i would mind see the niners go after Mike Martz because he just got fired form the lions also.

  7. Niner Pundit says:

Rob…as of right now the only other team looking for an OC is the Chiefs. So if they can get on the phone quick they may be able to pull it off.

  8. Desert9er says:

There’s an ESPN article on Mike Martz being fired from the Lions. In that article, there’s a note that Nolan wanted to hire Martz but that the Yorks were against it.

  9. 49ersfan77 says:

Go NINERS get the right guy go cam not martz NINERS ROCK DIE HARD FOR LIFE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  10. ninerfaithful4ever says:

martz is to pass happy for us that is why the yorks have turned there nose up to it Cameron is the guy plain and simple he wont be leaving anytime soon martz could jump to a head coach next season i vote cameron

  11. Niner Pundit says:

Desert9er…I read that article thing is, we’ve heard over and over from Nolan and Scot he has final say on his coaches. So I’m sure if he wanted Martz, Martz would be here talking with Nolan.

  12. Rob says:

It’s true I forgot that the Lions immediately promoted someone else to OC, so ok us and KC are the only teams right now looking for an OC. I have to say that if it is between Martz and Cameron I would rather have Cameron. Martz was a bust in Detroit. I mean, he was fired for goodness sake. Anyone have the address for that article mentioned where Nolan & the Yorks disagree about Martz? That doesn’t make much sense, so I would like to see that myself. Also, what about Brian Billick? Is there any more talk about him being the new OC? I think he would be good, except I would be worried about him being a HC sooner than later. Even though the Ravens haven’t been much in recent years, he is still a Superbowl winning coach. It’s only a matter of time until another team gives him a shot.

  13. SAY NO TO CAMERON says:

    NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO WAAAY
HE WAS A 1-15 COACH NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!

  14. L says:

Say no to camerson.. Your an idiot.. How old are you?? Not old enough to know that cameron is the one that was in charge when the chargers were super dominant on the Offense.. He knows how to use a high powered TE.. he would use VD the way he should be used.. LT had his best seasons under CAM.. Just cause he was 1-15 as HEAD COACH doesnt mean shit when your an OC…. HMM perfect example NORV.. I want CAM as Niners OC but will the Yorks give Nolan the ok and are they willing the spend the money for a High Profile Oc like him…

  15. samra says:

its official the dolphins have cleaned the house. Go to this link…….http://www.miamidolphins.com/newsite/team/coachingstaff/coachingstaff.asp………I say hire Cam Cameron as O.C. and hudson huock (ex Dolphins O-line coach)to replace George Warhop…this is thew same guy who turned san Diego’s line around in 2004 and this year his o-line was in the top 5….

  16. Niner Pundit says:

Rob…Nolan was on KNBR this morning and he named Cameron, Martz, and Billick as candidates on the OC list.

  17. unknown niner says:

NOLAN GET CAM CAMERON NOW, this is a dream come true, Cam Cameron hasbeen OFFICIALLY FIRED. This could be the surprise Niners season. Usually when a team is said to be a sleeper, the next year they suck. That’s what Happened this year. But, the next year ALMOST ALWAYS that sleeper team either becomes surprisingly good, or stays bad. We could define ourselves as winners this season, if we get cam Cameron. Shaun hill OR Alex Smith, this offnese will be a HUGE improvement. Shaun Hill runs the offense well, but we need to teach him thow to throw the deep ball. Okay… ESPN just said that Cam Cameron would be a good fit for Baltimore if they get Jason garret at head coach, and… SAN FRANCISCO. ESPN said it, he would be a good fit for us!

  18. unknown niner says:

ESPN said that thses are the places that he could go…

SAN FRANCISCO, because he is a lot like Norv Turner

Baltimore, because they need a head coach and an offenssive coordinator.

  19. Ryan the 1st says:

Cameron or Martz….Cameron preferred. IF we don’t make this move that would be the first of MANY blunders the front office could make. Why Warhop is still employed is WAY BEYOND ME!!! IF Nolan hires Billick then the Yorks should instantaneously change their minds and fire him. He was thinking about CHAN GAILEY??? I don’t want a Nolan reunion on our sidelines. I want Nolan to give the playbook to Cam Cameron and shut his mouth unless the defense is on the field. Anything, but Cameron or Martz would be A MAJORE STEP BACK!!! My friend Jason Drenik said it best,”Other than those two, the niners would be taking two steps back and one step forward!” If we were to hire anyone else, but these two. Cameron makes too much sense!!! PAY HIM….and I liked Niner Pundit’s idea as well.

  20. Ryan the 1st says:

The only thing we have to consider is if Cameron wants to be a college coach. That is something that may make him not come to SF. I don’t think we will see any other team stupid enough to rehire him as a HC, but an OC you better believe it. THere are a lot of college HC vacancies out there. That might be a major road block for McCloughan to get him.

  21. Ryan the 1st says:

This was from the San Jose Mercury news today…

“Also on the to-do list is hire an offensive coordinator: someone with a lot of NFL experience. Sources said contact has already been made with recently fired Ravens coach Brian Billick, who was Nolan’s boss in Baltimore. Billick would fit a pattern and a mindset and if 49ers fans hated the low-calorie version of “Ravens West,” let’s see how they like an attempt at a real thing. Mike Martz’s name is also in the mix. Both men would require salaries close to what Nolan makes ($1.6 million a year), and both might be Machiavellian enough to jump at a job working for a lame duck coach because it could lead them right back into a head-coaching job. It could make for all sorts of intrigue, power struggles and, ultimately, a palace coup. But would either man be the right one to develop Alex Smith, to repair the damage done to him over the past three years? Will Smith even be healthy?”

This makes me sick that he is even considering Billick. The Yorks must REALLY want to flush this franchise down the toilet.

  22. unknown niner says:

Cameron will not got to college, diu see his record at Indiana. he is a terrible head coach and an amazing Offensive Coordinator. he sucks at head coach in College and in the NFL. The dolphins offense was improving at the beginning of the season, but there defense was so bad early in the season they lost anyways. Also, when Trent Green went down Cam was screwed. He had nobody to work with. He also sucks at evaluating talent. With our ability to get talent with nolan and Scott, and his ability to create a great offense and actually utilize the talent on the offense, we would be the perfect combination. We will have a good offense if we get Cameron, unfotunately I see us getting Brian Billick, ONLY IF HE IS WILLING TO BE AN OC,which i doubt. Billick is just like Nolan, he talks very well and is very smart and nice, but he sucks.
    Nolan=SHIT and Billick= SHIT
    Nolan+Billick=SHIT

“Cameron’s only other head coaching job was at Indiana, where he was fired after five seasons. His career record as a head coach is 19-52.”

  23. unknown niner says:

    Nolan+ Billick= A PILE OF SHIT… that’s on fire and going down… the TOILET.

  24. missyoung97 says:

give nolan a little credit, he has been in the league for a long time and has a vast network…he will hire a good offensive coordinator..although I really don’t think people should throw Hostler under the bus because let’s face it…maybe we are not that talented…we didnt exactly have an explosive offense with Norv…and what makes Garrett such a mastermind as an OC…damn he’s got all of the tools, I think Nolan could coach that Offense with his defensive background….just food for thought…good website guys

  25. unknown niner says:

If we could draft 6′7″ WR James Hardy I will be happy. The offensive coordinator is Cam Cameron or BUST. We need to get some offensive guards and maybe a offensive tackle (depending on if Damane Duckett turns out to be a beast). Damane has been on the practice squad all year. he has been converted from a DT to an OT and many teams are going after him. The Niners are keeping him and are going to try him for starting OT. Drfat the biggest DT available. If we get another 3-4 outside linebacker to replace Tully Banta Cain, that would be nice, maybe Jay Moore? Maybe Ray McDonald and Melvin Oliver are our future DEs. We need another DT. Joe Cohen isn’t big enough for a 3-4 DT. that’s about that.

JAMES HARDY IS AMAZING. HAS GREAT HANDS,AMAZING HEIGHT, HE’S UNCOVERABLE, HE IS LEARNING HOW TO RUN EVEN FASTER WITH A SPEED COACH, HE IS A GREAT ROUTE RUNNER,HE COULD EXCEL UNDER JERRRY SULLIVAN, THE GUY SHOULD BE AVAILABLE FOR US IN FIRST ROUND, AND IF LUCKY EVEN THE SECOND ROUND.

  26. AXEGRINDER says:

Dude, do you have a crush on James Hardy???

Bring in a decent offensive staff and go from there.

  27. unknown niner says:

    Dear, AXEGRINDER…
Yes, in a matter of fact I do… No you dumb ass! We need a god damn wide reciever, and if we don’t get this guy i hope we never have to go against him. We don’t have a single reciever that can catch and have decent speed and size all together. Ashley lelie has catching problems, Arnaz Battle isn’t fast enough, and Darrel Jackson has worse hands than lelie. I agree we need an offensive staff but it won’t matter if our recievers continue to drop the ball and run the wrong routes. Height is a big factor. We need an end zone threat besides Vernon Davis, who never gets used anyways. Hopefully our new offensive staff, if we get one, can use Vernon better, and get our offensive line a couple lessons on how to keep your QB on his feet and not knocked on his ASS. We need this guy.

    PRIORITIES:
    Cam Cameron/good offensive coordinator
    WR (James Hardy!)
    OFFENSIVE LINE/O-Line Coach
    DEFENSIVE LINE/Defensive line Coach
Replacement for Tully Banta Cain (OLB)
QB if decent one is available late in draft/free agency
    Replacement for Walt Harris

In order from top to bottom.

  28. Ryan the 1st says:

Based on what I saw from Hardy in his last game and the fact that it is sounding like the Michigan receivers are going to enter the draft….we SHOULD NOT USE OUR FIRST PICK ON HARDY. Hardy WILL be available for our second pick and based on the fact that Nolan passed on Dwayne Jarrett I wouldn’t get my hopes up that he will get selected. Maybe I am wrong, but I think you better get used to Bowman before Hardy because I guarantee you that Nolan and McCloughan would BOTH rather have Bowman over Hardy. NO OFFENSE, but facts are facts. Our d line coach I really don’t have a problem with. However, Nolan and McCloughan need to start proving to the niner faithful that they actually care about the franchise they are in charge of….THAT MEANS FIRE YOUR FRIENDS/LOSERS and pull in all of this talent that is on the market. This will be considered one of the biggest blunders in NINER HISTORY if we pass on Cameron and bring Billick then put the cherry on the cake by KEEPING WARHOP!!!

  29. unknown niner says:

I agree he is better value at the second round, but I think all of the other recievers you have mentioned, will be gone before us. Bowman will probally be gone. malcom Kelley will be Gone. desean Jackson swish.. is a goner. Limas Sweed might drop but he SHOULD be picked before us. Limas Sweed is considered one of the top recievers in the draft, but he had an injury. But…

THEN WHAT POSISTION/WHO SHOULD WE DRAFT WITH OUR FIRST PICK?????

  30. Ryan the 1st says:

Oh, for sure we should go wide out, but we should go after the most talented one available.

  31. Medford says:

Breaking news the 49ers will promote Jerry Sulivan to offensive cordinator. What elese did we expect from this team right.
just kidding but I wouldnt be suprised if that happend

  32. Los Banos Jerry says:

Best Player……..Hopefully it will be defesive end….. wr second
    round……

  33. Medford says:

Did anyone see that news confrence the other day wats wrong with Scot McCloughan did he forget his blanket or did he need a hug or something. He looked like a Vampire in the day time. He couldnt stop saying how great Nolan is and that losing is part of there plan WTF. Nothing has changed with him just got a new title Nolan still runs the show so get ready for more Gilmore, Hicks, Derek Smith and Trent “The Warrior” Dilfer.

TO ALL REAL NINERFANS HERE RYAN THE 1ST, PUNDIT, HOW MANY TIMES DID A WR BREAK A TACKLE IN 2007 SEASON THE ONLY ONES I REMEMBER R VERNON DAVIS AND MICHAEL ROBINSON THATS PRETTY SAD THAT SULLIVAN NEEDS TO BE FIRED CHECK HIM INTO A RETIRMENT HOME. ALL THE WRS NEED TO GET THE BOOT LOOK AT NEW ENGLAND THEY DONT HAVE THE SAME WR THEY DID A YEAR AGO EXCEPT FOR GAFFNEY. BUT WE GOT NOLAN AND McClOUGHAN AND THEY WANT TO BUILD THROUGH THE DRAFT AND SUPLEMENT THROUGH FREE AGENCY. WAT U GUYS THINK?

  34. Medford says:

Nolan and McCloughan = Charlie Brown and Linus

  35. PARTY BOY says:

for a DE we should go with Trevor Laws from Notre Dame.He was leading tackler, with over 100+ and he fits in a 3-4 system.Plus he has an amazing spin move.

  36. Texas9er says:

Nolan will get the right guy. Have any of yall seen next years schedule? We get to play the Cowboys! I can’t fucking wait. I hope Patrick Willis CRUSHES Tony Romo. I live in Texas and I can’t stand this fuckin team. The cowboy fans think there shit don’t stink. I bleed gold and red. Go niners!

  37. Erock85 says:

There’s not much I like about Texas… but you are the man Texas9er. Good to know there’s some of us down there. Keep the faith… F the Cowgirls.
