I agree Cam is the best option. Some guys are better coordinators than head coaches and I think Cam is one of those. He has proven to be a solid performer in the OC role and if his ego can take it, he should be again for the niners. He also had a very respected O-Line coach on his staff with the Dolphins who was also let go and he could be a great addition as well.

Cam is the best option, but not the only option. We shouldn't put all our eggs in his basket and then think the niners are crazy if they don't get him. I don't see Garret going to the niners for an OC role even with the promise of "maybe" getting the head job if Nolan takes another dump (as likely as that is). Garret has not been doing this very long anyway and he does have a ton of talent on his roster with the Cowboys. We need a strong leader who can teach and organize a reasonably talented and young offensive group. I think no matter who the new OC is Alex Smith cannot be helped. Despite all the coaching changes and offensive challenges, he should be further along than he his by quite a bit. He is not the answer.

There is no way!!!! Cam is the best fit for us and if he is gone then we take the wild card Martz.. other than that nothing will work.. OR we try and it would be a long shot.. go for up and comer jason garret of the cowboys make him OC and tell him if Nolan fails he will become HC next year or take over in the middle of the year... but all in all CAM is the man

I just watched GT get their ass handed to them by the 3rd best team in the WAC, Fresno State.

Watch any GT game and you will see. They are not well coached and there offense falls into the same stagnate play calling Hostler used. Run on 1st, pass short on 2nd and dive play on 3rd, pro-bowl punter on 4th. If it was not for Calvin Johnson for 3 seasons prior to 2007. GT would not have made a Bowl Game.

There is no way in hell an unproven quarterback like smith gets us a one in return. Moss was traded for a fourth round pick last year.

Somebody asked what the connection is between Nolan and Gailey. They were on the same staff for a few years.

I think he is a pretty good coach though. His offenses at Georgia Tech have been pretty successful, and his passing attack has done the bulk of the work. His professionals stats are deceiving and skewed towards the run because he didn't have a good quarterback with the Steelers, but he did have Jerome Bettis. His offense absolutely killed the Colts in the Wild Card game putting up 41 points, on the road. He won the NFC East twice in a row as the head coach of the Cowboys, and this was when all of their play makers were getting old.

He is a moderately accomplished coach and has plenty of head coaching experience working with very little. Since he has been at Georgia Tech he hasn't had a descent quarterback yet, but they consistently make bowl games. Also, Georgia Tech runs a pro style offense, not a Urban Myer only works in college style. He doesn't need to run our team, he just has to keep the offense from being awful again.

Honestly, I think no matter who gets hired the Nolan Haters would be in uproar. Whether it is be Martz, who in my opinion would be almost as bad as keeping Hostler, Cameron, Gailey, or some other schmuck, it would be just one more thing to complain about this off season. The Cowboys were unanimously criticized for the hiring of unknown ex-quarterback Jason Garret, and I think it turned out pretty good for them.

Cam Cameron's dolphins looked just as bad as the niners offensively, so to say that he is an offensive mastermind, and that we'd be screwed with anyone else is just stupid.

Profootball dot com has quoted a source close to the Miami Dolphins that HC Cam Cameron has been given his walking papers late Tuesday Night. This tip came from the same source that reported the hiring of Jeff Ireland as the GM in Miami.

Cam Cameron will stay ar be hired in a week or two, that is when the desiscion will be made. Should we wait? Scott and nolan are seiously freaking me out. I saw that conference and they literally , like eachother. Nolan seems to have hypnotized Scott. he thinks that we could win a superbowl under Mike Nolan. He thinks that mike Nolan has contol of the locker room and that everybody likes him. Wow, Scott i respect your talent of being able to get talent, but ... you are one dumb sucker. nolan has tricked the shit out of Scott. All i know is we are going to have another great draft. Nolan-Scott know how to get players and how to trade up and how to trade down for the next draft. i'm actually going to watch the draft just because I want them to work their magic during the draft. they have made ONE mistake only and that was trade away our first round pick of this year. never do that again. i'm just happy though that they got the colts first round pick for our 4th last year. that's a job well done. If we could do that to other gullable teams, trade Alex Smith to the Bears or minnesota for another first round pick, or a second if his stock has fallen and we would be in great shape. It was funny how Nolan said that the GM works hard to bring the talent to the field, and they get dissapointed when they aren't used correctly. That's exactly the problem! We need Nolan, because in that conference it revealed that Nolan does have a lot to do with the drafts, which have been fantastic. i can't wait till the draft. Eventually we will have so much talent that it will overcome the bad coaching, right?
