Nolan Finally Shows Emotion
Well it has only taken 12 weeks, but it seems that losing has finally caught up to head coach Mike Nolan.
“It angers me that we lost the game,” Nolan said of Sunday’s 31-14 setback against the Carolina Panthers, San Francisco’s ninth defeat in 10 games after a 2-0 start.
“It has left the frustrating point,” Nolan continued. “It’s becoming angry to lose, and lose a game like that. I don’t speak only for myself but I speak for our players, I think I speak for our fans, I speak for everyone. They have been as angry as I have.”

Don't miss any of the action this year at the SBG Global
oh now he’s angry-too little too late-baa bye nolan-good luck and have a good day sir
He should be angry at 14-34! Let’s say it again: Under Mike Nolan the 49’s have won 14 games in 3 years. I won’t mention all those NFL teams who turned their programs around during this time. Does anyone think that the 49’s are going to be better under Nolan next year? Let the axe fall.
As much as I liked Nolan coming into this year…. if the players can’t be motivated, then there’s lack of respect…
I still love hiring an offensive line coach…. I forget the name…Bob Kilpatrick or something like that, that we had for years. Howie Long hated the leg whip, but before our OL coach died of cancer, our offensive line was dominate, even when undersized. Great coaching.
We need Ronni Lott types…. anyone the players will respect enough to give 110% like Gore, Willis, and a few others do everyday…
its crackes me up now that seasons end is here and nothing left to lose mike nolan comes out of the shell. he is not trying to motivate he is starting to feel the unemployement line and standing behing him is Jim i cant figure out a simple draw play on fourth and short Hostler send these butt fuck fags out of town,i just wish Denise would get eddie back involved with the team he could really help us turn that corner
Yea, i agree bring Eddie back or some of the old players from the glory days to help out with the new coaching staff next year (if it happens?), or something? I don’t even know what to write about anymore because the 49ers so bad! We need some hope somewhere that things are going to turn around for the better soon!
ive gone through some of the comments, and just wanted to let yall know, that new england had to forfeit the pick they got from us. it doesnt mean shit, as to our coach…id rather have cowher or martz. i wouldnt mind a qb who could get rid of the ball either(smith needs to go back to college)
Patriots had to forfeit the pick we gave them? Was that for blatently using cameras in week one?
I like that. …and not because they traded us for it….but I’m still peeved about them signing OUR most sought after Defensive Lineman!!!!
MCKITTRICK, Bobb …okay…looked it up….wish HE had a clone….. rest in peace Bobb…
No, the Patriots have to forfeit their natural pick. They get to keep the one they got from us in trade.
the pats will not have to forfit the pick we traded! unless some one can show us in here a link or somthing that shows that i am going to worry fuck the patriots just fuck them!!
Thanks guys. I thought that’s how it went but wasn’t sure after Casie said that.
bring in joe montana as the QBcoach, ronnie lott as the Cornerbacks/safty coach, norv turner as the O.C. and brent jones just to help out V.D. and bring out deion sander as the tackling dummy.
Would bringing back Eddie D REALLY help? You have to remember, Eddie was there when there wasn’t a salary cap, and could have brought in the players he wanted without restricted by a cap. Kind of like what Steinbrenner does with the yanks,,,tries to buy the pennant every year. The dominance of the 49ers were killed by the salary cap, and the aging of the lineman. Back then, Walsh used his West Coast offense which was based on speed, not brute strenght. So a 250 pound lineman who was very fast and could pull left or right, or run stunts was productive in that system. Once they aged and lost their speed, they were not productive going against the new 300 + pound linemen of the 90’s.
nolan will be back next year.
Packers,Browns,Lions,Vikings,Texans,Bills….all have turned their teams around…LOTT&TOTT!I agree Nolan will be back next year….Holster wont.
Hostler is Nolan’s scapegoat for this season. It’s a shame that he’ll be back next season with a new OC. I hate the idea of having a HC that knows nothing about offense. We need a HC that is involved in the entire team.
Alex Smith is going to have a new offensive coordinator for the fourth year in a row. He will never get better at this rate.By the time Smith is good, Pat willis will have retired early from being on such a crappy team!, and he will probaly have all the records for linebackers anyways.
De Bartolo is GONE, Montana will never coach for the Niner’s, and guess what, Neither will Lott, Rice or any other ex-Niner. Get that shit out of your heads.
We NEED Russ Grimm as OC and then get Holmgren back as our GM…that is a great start. However, we shouldn’t give up on Smith so easily. I wouldn’t mind if we draft a QB with our 4th or 5th rounder, but we definitely shouldn’t use a really high pick on one.
in the games Alex has played in 2006 and 2007, our record is 9-12, not counting the Seattle game as he was knocked out in the 1st series.and if u dont count games in which he was playing in with severe pain he’s 9-10. With the talent what more do you expect? He’s nearly .500 when healthy. Since Dilfer has taken over, what has he done? well the answer is 1-7. Alex is the youngest starting QB, with below average WR’s, 3 OC’s, horribly poor pass protection, Hostler as OC, yet he still manages to lead the team to near a .500 record…. What are you really expecting from him? Tom Brady could never perform under these conditons.
Nolan quote:
“There’s frustration, no question,” he said, “but I think I speak for the players, the fans, everyone, when I say it’s left the frustrating part and it has become angering. We had an opportunity to take control of the game.”
?
I was angered after the Pittsburgh game! Where has this guy been? I hate to say it but Nolan’s complacency is his down fall. This aint college and it’s not girl’s fucking hockey. It’s the NFL and if you’re not getting angry about losing games, you shouldn’t be coaching.
Hey Erickson, if you and the assholes want my help in ousting Nolan and don’t want to be arrested for running a bootleg site, reinstate me.
Hey ninerpundit I heard something on KNBR this morning saying that the niners are one of the top teams in the league in payroll is this true? They had them at 109 million in payroll ahead of the colts. If York is spending this much money for this team could everyone stop saying bring back Eddie D please. He doesnt want to come back he is done. It all comes down to coaching Nolan isnt a Head coach he might be a good Defensive cordinator but thats it. NINERPUNDIT PLEASE RESPOND
I agree with Gee Ray,Nolan should be back next season. Its not his fault that Turner left so late. All we need is a good offensive cordinator with some west coast offense experiance.:)
I used to be with Nolan but not anymore I cant stand to watch the team I love play anymore. There has to be changes keep Scott Mccloughn get rid of Nolan and Hostler.
The niners need to be willing to pay the right leaders. A Russ Grimm and Chin mixture would be a recipe for success. Plus, we need to have a guy that the old niners respect and love….HOLMGREN AS GM. If the niners do this then I don’t see how we wouldn’t turn this thing around. However, just because I say it doesn’t mean they are going to do it. I don’t see why they wouldn’t pursue these people because it would turn things in the right direction for sure.
