It appears that right now Andy Lee is getting the shaft in pro bowl voting, at least by online voters. Mat McBriar of the Cowboys is leading the ballot.

FOXSports.com’s John Czarnecki reports there’s a “good chance” the 49ers won’t pay Alex Smith his $8 million option bonus next March.
The option bonus would keep Smith under contract for 2009 and 2010. If the Niners don’t pay it, Smith’s 2008 base salary would be $2 million and he’d be in the final year of his contract. The former No. 1 pick will be re-evaluated next week to see whether he needs season ending shoulder surgery.

Let me ask a question, how many yards does gore have,I’ts probably not near 2200 yards that goes to show what kind of season our niners had also there are teams that’s better than us like the browns and the texans which has me going crazy over here and last but not least we need to clean house, make mike sigletary defensive coordinator get a new coach so we can have a whole new system and players add to the defense but definatly get rid of some of the offensive players or bring in some to help excuse me if I’m not making since a little but I’m just so tired of losing!
Read the article about not paying Alex the $8 Million. Still curious about that one. Somehow if surgery goes well, I doubt it. But who knows with the York’s concern about bottom line cash, and with the probability that Nolan will stay. At this point Smith’s decision to go for outside help didn’t sit well with Nolan. (big deal)
Giving up our first round pick to get Indy’s hasn’t bothered me like it has so many of you. Offensive line to me is one of the most important parts of the game. I’m 100% happy with the play of Staley in his first year, and to get him in last years first round was a blessing.
to you niner fans out there this John York letting you know you will no longer have to listen to Mike Nolan’s character comments after each weeks loss. We will be letting him go at the seasons end. I also have sent out a memo to Jim Hostler to pack his shit up and get the fuck far from my team. i am sorry that we suck this season although i can promise a changes soon

we need to trade up in this year draft class and take a pass rusher like chris long he would be a great end in our 3-4 also be able to take alittle attention off of manny lawson and tully banta cain and with our second round pick take a big wide out like limas sweed from texas and the rest of our picks lineman on both sides of the football

You guys…..I never would have called it, but Russ Grim is our highest priority. Good call Big M. I don’t know how we wouldn’t go after him. I guarantee that would give Faneca incentive to come to the niners. As far as I am concerned this coming offseason is a failure if we DON’T GO AFTER RUSS GRIMM, GET FANECA, and WIPE our QB situation clean of everyone except Alex Smith. You have to give him targets and time to throw. I haven’t given up on Alex Smith….he hasn’t been given a legitimate deep threat or a go to receiver so I REALLY CAN’T get mad at him at all. I wish he performed better, but based on what I am seeing from the receivers and the o line I can’t put all of the blame on him. In fact, I wouldn’t even give him close to the majority of the blame. If Colt Brennan is available in the second round then I wouldn’t mind if we got him because whether Alex Smith is with us or not after next season doesn’t matter if he isn’t going to perform. However, there IS still the chance that he blows up (that is IF the niner organization ever comes out of retard stage) because we ACTUALLY GIVE HIM SOMEONE TO THROW TO BESIDES VERNON DAVIS!!! Here is a message to Nolan, York, and Hostler….there is a reason that they stack the box and double Vernon Davis……..it is because EVERYONE KNOWS THAT THEY ARE OUR ONLY LEGITIMATE THREATS ON OFFENSE!!! HOW ABOUT WE USE THEM???? We should use our free agent money to grab Faneca and a middle linebacker…unless a stud receiver comes that we can’t refuse. However, we shouldn’t overpay people like Patrick Crayton either.
Furthermore, we HAVE TO GET HOLMGREN BACK AS GM. Holmgren and Grim as our OC would REALLY UP THE STAKES IN SF. I am going to the Vikings game this weekend so I will tell you what I see. By the way, would anyone be offended if we found a replacement for Tully Banta Cain (draft or free agency…I don’t care…he is horrible) and we DROP DJAX like a lead brick in a lake on the depth chart? It will be very interesting to see what the niners do with their first two picks or even our first three because if we draft a QB then that is a MAJOR STATEMENT. Also, we would be fools if we don’t use a first day pick on another receiver!!!
WE ALL KNOW THAT NOLAN LIKES A HEALTHY COMPETITION, SO DON’T BE SURPRISED IF HE SPENDS HIS FIRST DRAFT CHOICE(IF HE’S STILL OUR COACH) ON A NEW PUNTER. Andy Lee should win MVP this year, seeing as how he’s done more for our team than any individual has done for any other team in the league, but the bastards in charge may not see it the way that we do.
