Willis Voted Defensive Player of the Week
Patrick Willis of the San Francisco 49ers has been voted the GMC Defensive Player of the Week for games played Nov. 25-26. Willis recorded 18 tackles and half a sack in the 49ers’ 37–31 win over the Arizona Cardinals.
Willis was selected from among five finalists by voters on NFL.com. The other finalists were safety Roman Harper of the New Orleans Saints, defensive end Patrick Kerney of the Seattle Seahawks, cornerback Asante Samuel of the New England Patriots, and safety Dwight Smith of the Minnesota Vikings.
Also at it stands now Willis is also a lock to win Rookie of the Week.

Don't miss any of the action this year at the SBG Global
yaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhoooooooooo we have had two of are players win awards this week franh gore being named nfc offensive player of the week

I can’t wait untill next year to have Manny Lawson and Melvin Oliver back. That D will be sick!!!
This makes a first for Willis correct? That and previously 2 rookie’s of the week?
Yeah, we already know that Gore and Willis are stars. Gotta love them both and their heart!
I’m curious to see if our offense can continue moving and scoring. As usual, I’m very hopeful this week….
Yeah, this is his first D player of the week. This week will be his 3rd time named Rookie of the Week… more than any other player so far.
And finally, I’m closing the P Willy Nickname Challenge as of this afternoon. I’ve received more than 250 submissions, some of them great, some of them OK, and many of them just really, really horrible. I’m thinking that I will pick the top 5, put them to an on-line vote and let the people decide. More on that later. In the meantime, here’s a small sampling of the submissions I received. I’ve withheld names in order to spare some people public ridicule.

As far as nicknames are concerned; on a seperate website, some people were in favor for “The Big-Dong”, poking fun at “The Big-Unit” in baseball.
I’m pretty sure it won’t fly with many people, but i found it pretty damn funny.
On another note: 8-8 baby!!!! baby steps toward improvement
profootballtalk.com is currently reporting that smith is done for the season and is looking at surgery to repair the damage in his shoulder so we are now riding on the dilfer express
Damn I didn’t know he had 18 tackles being from the east coast once again I didn’t see the game but like mike said when lawson and oliver come back our D might be shit.
Mississippi Mayhem is the best nickname for Willis I think.
“mississippi mud slid”
cant get past this

Patrick “The Pain Train” Willis is by far the best name available.
He is amazing. When the draft comes we should use the first rounder we have on another middle linebacker to support him instead of slow him down (Derick Smith), or an outside linebacker to replace tully banta cain.
We will have the best, fastest, and youngest linebackers in the nfl if we do draft line backers in the first round. We already have P willis and Manny Lawson. I know our offense needs help but this would be amazing if we did this.
I think we need to draft Trevor Laws NT/Notre Dame for BY’s replacement
