Smiley to Join Mr. Glass on IR?
The good injury news just keep rolling in. Yesterday the 49ers placed Jonas Jennings on IR and a report came out that they may place guard Justin Smiley on the IR as well. Smiley might opt for season-ending shoulder surgery sometime this week after an MRI revealed a torn labrum in his right shoulder.
Smiley said he plans on flying to Birmingham, Ala., to get a second opinion from noted orthopedic surgeon Dr. James Andrews.
“I’ll know on Wednesday if I’m going to have surgery or wait a couple weeks,” Smiley said. “I won’t be playing this week. If Andrews thinks it needs to be done sooner than later, I’ll opt to do it on Thursday.”
I’m kinda hoping for season ending surgery so Nolan can finally go with the future in David Baas and see if he can bring to the table.
On a sidenote regarding Jennings, after being placed on IR he has missed 31 of 48 starts. It is safe to say we can add Jennings to the list of worst 49ers free agent signings.

I just thought I would drop in and chat with some Frisco fans before I go on. The 49ers are a Joke! Ever since I left you I’ve been content down here in Big D. theirs no way you’ll reach number six before the Dallas Cowboys. The 49ers have a long way to go, and it will take years to rebuild. The Dallas Cowboys are truley America’s Team, and I found that out when I came to this Elite orginization. I’ve been lovin seeing you guys lose six in a row, and I thought about puttin yaw’s defeats on my Prime Time segment this next week, but I still think your not worthy. In the mean while I’ll watch our new superstar aquisition, the second coming of Michael Irvin, my man T.O., truley a Prime time Player! T.O.’s going down a Dallas Cowboy in the Hall just like myself, and when we get our six ring this year, I’ll be their to celebrate. Now that Smiley and Jennings are out of the way Nolan should put Staley at LT and move Snyder over to RT and put Bass at RG and Wragge at C. That would be the starting lineup for next season. Draft a G in the top of the 2nd to replace Larry (I got no gas left) Allen.
