Smiley Officially Done

Nov 08, 2007 32 Comments by Niner Pundit

Justin Smiley is officially done for the season. He will undergo surgery on his shoulder and miss the remainder of the season. It is also looking like the Atlanta game was the last of Smiley’s career. Smiley is set to become a unrestricted free agent and his future with the 49ers is unclear. He wants more money than the 49ers are willing to give, now the bum shoulder may factor in somewhat, but it doesn’t appear that Smiley will be back.

Bring on Baas!!

  1. FranktheTank says:

Good Fuck Smiley and Jennings. Their both a bunch of bitches. Jonas is the biggest piece of shit their is.

  2. Douche Bag says:

What do the 49ers and Smiley have in common?

  3. Lowrance says:

We need to find quality for the offensive line. It’s sad that we thought this was going to be a strength, and only Staley has impressed me. (Very few hiccups which is awesome for a rookie)

4 new offensive linemen, 2 quality receivers, 3 defensive linemen, and an offensive coordinator.

    I don’t ask for much Santa…..

  4. BigDickJim says:

I love all this good news…ps what are the chances of winning against the seacocks?

  5. BigDickJim says:

BickDickJim, I hate to break the news to you, but slim to none.

  6. Zack says:

    49ERS 10 THE SEACOCKS 23

  7. Zack says:

THAT IS IF FRANK GORE IS PLAYING AND DOESNT FUMBLE!!HEHEHE

  8. Mike says:

I think the comments from FranktheTank is out of place. All players on NFL work to get to the NFL and it they do not work out, that is another story. But what you called two players is B.S.

  9. Mike says:

One thing is for sure…the Niners are going to have a solid chance to suck in front of a national audience.

  10. Douche Bag says:

I think the NFL should allow the Niners to count the scores they make in pre-game warmups.

  11. TIM says:

    Good riddance

  12. AXEGRINDER says:

The only people that will be watching this game will be niners fans and seacock fans. No one else gives a shit. Why should they? Both these teams suck ass.

  13. Dillon says:

    Exactly Axegrinder!

  14. Dillon says:

Its unforntunate thats the case, but true. I keep dreamin for the good old days to come back!

  15. SanDiegoNiners says:

Hell yeah, we go’n win this game, we aint got nothin to lose, shaun alex. is injured and missing their top reciever (branch). Seacocks lose by 4.

  16. Arock49 says:

Stayin optimistic…… Beat the Hawks….. 1 game back…… weak schedule the rest of the way….. Sneak in the playoffs at 8-8?

Thats if we beat the Hawks….. This is are last shot….

  17. Arock49 says:

OH Yea… Also for this to happen, Alex needs to start throwing the football like an NFL Quarterback….. And are Receivers need to start making catches like NFL Wide Recievers do….

Its Time to act like an NFL team….

  18. Ryan the 1st says:

Yes, we have Baas so I am not that concerned, but we are going to need to use at least three picks on linemen. Guards are going to be a lot easier to replace than our LEFT TACKLE. NO, I AM NOT saying that Mr. Glass was quality, but if we are going to replace him then we need to do it right this time and find someone quality. That guy from Oklahoma might be available for our first pick. I say our first and second pick need to both be on offense unless a steal is available at d line or middle linebacker. We need a left tackle or a right tackle because they keep saying that Staley is headed to left tackle. I am fine with that, but then we need to get a QUALITY right tackle. Guards I think we could take our chances in the third or fourth round with, but we shouldn’t fuck around in the second day trying to find a left tackle. Also, we need REALLY BIG receiver with our second pick or our first (depending on who is available. COME ON NINERS…AT LEAST WIN THREE MORE SO WE DON’T GIVE A TOP FIVE PICK TO THE PATS!!!

  19. CrazyRicky says:

Hey, whats the chances of us getting Pennington. I know he is not having a good year but at least he is better than Alex Smith. What about picking up Haynesworth as a DT?

  20. Medford says:

Pennington SUCKS is he starting anymore for the Jets? Haynesworth will get the franchise tag. Dont give up on Alex so quick hes got wr’s that cant catch and have no speed and no blocking put Tom Brady in r huddle and he wont fair to much better either. And a coach who cares more about how he looks on sundays then how his team is playing!!!

  21. RobBase says:

Wow! Don’t get me wrong, I am just as frustrated. It isn’t that I don’t believe, it’s that I am embarrassed to tell anyone. haha Some of you sound like a whinin bitch. Others sound like some Seagull Fans. We still got games to play. Not everyone wins the Super Bowl. Next three games are division rivalry. Enjoy it, shit. I bought the ticket. I bought the jerseys. In fact, I had to pay out a jersey this year to a Saints fan. I watched every gut wrenching minute. I still sport my colors and I am still a Niners fan. Talking about the draft. There is no draft. There are 8 more games to show up. Talking about the players not having heart. What about the fans?

  22. Ninerfan81 says:

I agree with RobBase, the draft is too far off to talk about and besides with New England getting our high 1st round, what’s to look forward to.

Yes, we suck ass right now and are an imbarrassment to red and gold of yesterdays, but there’s still hope to finish out the second half on a strong note.

Our job is easy compared to the players. Go Niners Go!!

  23. Shane says:

IF Nolan has to go (and if his stubbornness continues, it might have to happen)….

I’ve got one clear #1 choice, and that is Norm Chow.

  24. LOTT&TOT says:

The Yorks have issued a press release late this afternoon stating that in order to recover the 49r “mojo” they have ordered Mike Nolan to discontinue wearing suits on the Forty Niner sideline during games. He has received direct orders from Dr. York that he is to be attired in only a sailors hat and a G-string until the Niners break their 6 game losing streak. Nolan’s reponse to the behest: “I’m will do whatever I need to make this team win. Besides, I think it’s a great idea and will show that I’m not all that conservative.”

  25. Ryan the 1st says:

NORM CHOW….NORM CHOW!!!!! Yeah, maybe as a coordinator!!! The draft is ALL THERE IS to look forward to. The niners shot their wad and now their defense (which was respectable) is starting to lose heart as well. Our first two picks need to on the offensive side of the ball unless there are some steals available. Our RECEIVERS SUCH AND SO DO OUR LINEMEN….I hope this isn’t news to anyone. I don’t like being the bad guy, but if you think the niners have a chance at getting to 500 playing like this then you are on strong psychadelic drugs!!!! This offense couldn’t score on Boise St.

  26. Jerry says:

If our receivers would get open sooner, they would make our offensive line much better.

  27. Shane says:

Ryan….are you saying there’s something particularly wrong with Norm Chow?

He should be getting a head coaching job in the near future. SHOULD….

  28. razoreater says:

i like norm chow but not the now-no more experiments at head coach-proven winner bill cowher

  29. who's the 49ers poppieeee says:

We need to trade Darrel Jackson and get Chad Johnson and draft wide receiver Markus Monk and get an offensive tackle that can stay healthy.Plus get a real runningback to back up Frank Gore.

  30. Lowrance says:

Dick Nolan passed away….. prayers are with you.

  31. niner_junkie says:

To all you guys that keep saying that we need to bring in Bill Cowher-newsflash! He’d never WANT to come coach us! If any of you were watching his post-retirement press conference, he said there was nowhere he’d rather be or no other place he’d want to coach for other than the Steelers. I don’t see him ever coming out of retirement anyways.
