Yo there is a good article explaining why the coaches are to blame for alex smith’s struggles. click here http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/page2/story?page=keown/071112

  2. jeremy says:

OMG What is wrong with my team? I love the niners and i hurt me to my heart to watch what happen last night. We could not do anything right and i;m not sure it can be fix in a year or two i think its going to take at least three years to get people in and buy into the system…. Dear Santa (lol) all i want for Christmas is for my team to win and become the talk of the NFL

  3. Xpnsivwino says:

Get Bill Parcells out of retirement! Look at what he did for every team he touched:

Giants – 2 Superbowls with average QB (Simms)

Jets – 1 game away from Superbowl after 2 pathetic seasons.

Patriots – Still living in the shadows of Bill’s building, and winning.

Dallas – Straightened out TOwens, and look where they are now.

The 49ers do have the talent. They just need an aggressive coach and an OFFENSIVE LINE.
The defense is fine, they just can’t be on the field 90% of the game. Of course you’re going to give up points.

The 49ers should take a lesson from Jimmie Johnson. He built up the pathetic cowboys in the 90’s to a superbowl team. He built up the offensive line so much, even an average to good runningback was able to outperform. Yes, Emmit was just average to good. Anyone could have run behind that line. Look how poorly he did when he signed with the cardinals. Yes, it was later in his career, but he went from a 1000 yard season to 10 yards per game.

  4. Douche Bag says:

Who knows what ultimately happens with Nolan and Smith, but Nolan should fire Hoss to send a message to fans and his players that they are at least trying to remedy this god awful situation.

  5. obi says:

Why play the kid if he is injured?
Why play to loss than win by putting an injured QB.

Why is vd not down field

    Why not play Both HILLs

Why was norris tossed around like a kid by jp.
Why is nolan so disorganised on game days
Where is the Gm who put together this SHAM

Why is alex smith a #1 pick why where we fooled?????????????? so many ?????????

  6. mike says:

LOOK IT WINBORN JP GACIA YES RATTAY EJ ANDRE CARTER BEADSLEY FANTASTIC PLAYERS LET GO FOR (NFL WANNABEE) = BAD MGX ALBEIT E=MC2

49ers will end season with only 2 ? wins

  7. SanDiegoNiners says:

bill parcells sucks, besides he coached for the cowgirls. Marty is the best in my opinion because he loves running and thats what we need out of frank gore.

  8. sf49ers says:

Cowher power is out there too,he will want big bucks..but as for now Nolan should move hostler back tp QB Coach move sullivan to OC and ..maybe..just maybe..offense might start clicking

  9. Andre says:

we need to do so much..fire nolan fire our offensive coordinator hostler…get alex smith some offensive linemen who wont let defenders get into the backfield like nfl blitz and get some receivers who know how to get open and when they do will catch the ball my fuckin goodness we looked like we didnt belong as one of the 32 teams in the NFL

  10. Andre says:

And for everyone blaming alex smith shut the hell UP u dont kno a damn thing about us

  11. Andre says:

its not smith u dum asses

  12. eze says:

This is the price you pay for winning 5 super bowls….

  13. eze says:

How can it not be Smith when the 2nd best 9er QB ever says he hasn’t shown anything?
He’s at least 40% of the problem.

  14. 49ers for life says:

look i was high on Smith when we drafted him…and I have really really been pulling for him..but its over for him. His confidence is gone, and I dont know about you guys but last night his technique was terrible. We need a new Qb and a new Oc. I think we let Nolan stay one more year and finish his contract. Hopefully we got after Fitz, Suggs, and Derek Anderson in the offseason ( or draft/sign a suitable qb). I have faith that this team can bring glory back to SF but just not with A.Smith and Hoss

  15. loser says:

goddammit im fucking pissed off here. i swear to god, i will boycott the whole fucking season until that sorry ass of an excuse of an OC doesnt get fired.

  16. AM says:

OUR PROBLEM…..JIM HOSTLER AND THE OFFENSIVE LINE. Worst offensive coordinator ever. Every run this year has been up the middle and predictable. Our defense would be better if they weren’t playing the entire game. Also, our offensive line gives Smith about two seconds to pass the ball and they get no push when Gore runs. When they went for it on fourth down and Gore got stuffed, it was because none of the lineman got low and moved the defense back. We need to get lineman that can stay healthy (unlike Jennings)and give smith time to show what he can do.

  17. AM says:

This year is a repeat of Smiths rookie season. He has taken a step back in development. He has lost all of his confidence and he gets no time in the pocket.

  18. unknown niner says:

    Players to get rid of:

    Darrel Jackson
    Bryan Gilmore
    ENTIRE Defensive Line
    Jonas Jennings
    Larry allen
    Walt harris
    Shawntae Spencer
    Tully Banta cain
    Derek smith
    Mark Roman
    Trent Dilfer
    Soon…
    Alex SMith

    Coaching changes:
    Offensive coordinator

We need to wipe clean of these players over the next two years.

    Here are our draft needs

    2008 Draft:
    1 Outside Linebacker
    Two defensive Tackles
    Two Wide recievers
    One offensive tackle
    Middle linebacker to help WIllis

    2009 Draft
    Two cornerbacks
    Two defensive ends
    One Wide reciever
One Free Safety or a running back
QUARTERBACK ( if SMith continues to BUST)

After that… look we are right back in it. A young talented team. We might want to get the offensive linemen through free agency, because they are ususally really really good and they are EXPERIENCED! I trust that Mike Nolan will have two more great drafts. Our drafts ahve been really good exception though for Alex Smith.

  19. unknown niner says:

WE need to have a offensive coordinator that has Winning Experience and will have respect from our players. We might actually be a surprise in a season or two because we did so poorly this season. WE need Nolan to work some magic in the draft and try to get as many second round picks as possible from other teams. We are going to need to get at least two first round picks for each draft we have. We have done it two seasons in a row now lets keep it up.

  20. eddie says:

EVERY YEAR IT IS THE SAME THING DRAFT,FREE AGENTS.WE GOT TRENT DILFER TO TEACH ALEX SMITH AND DILFER CANT PLAY HIM DAMN SELF.WE HAVE A QUARTERBACK ALMOST AT EVERY POSTION (WIDE RECEIER/RUNNING BACKS)WIDERECEIVERS AT TIGHT END AND TIGHT ENDS AT TACKLE.AND PEOPLE WONDER WHY WE CANT GET A FIRST DOWN.

  21. eddie says:

    (RUNNINGBACKS/WIDE RECEIVERS)…..WHAT I MENT

  22. AM says:

Don’t forget lineman at linebacker. And we tried rumph at safety and adams at cb a few years ago. That is a good point.

  23. AM says:

unknown niner of the ones you said to get rid of i disagree with:

    Larry allen
    Walt harris
    Shawntae Spencer
    Alex Smith

Larry Allen can be leave when he retires. He is a great lineman. Walt Harris? Are you crazy? Why on earth would you want to get rid of him? Shawntae Spencer is fine as long as he is not starting. And for Alex Smith, if he had a line to block for him, he could do much better. We should wait it out on him.

  24. AXEGRINDER says:

What the hell are you guys talking about? This was the most competitive game I have ever seen. Smith was dumping the ball in the flat all day. Our wideouts were catching everything thrown to them. Our O-line provided the best protection in years. Our corners were shutting them down, while our defensive front was in Hasselhoff’s face. I didn’t see Andy Lee punt once. We set a record for first downs and T.O.P. We fuckin blew ‘em out. I can’t wait to school the Rams next week.

WHAT THE FUCK GAME WERE YOU GUYS WATCHING????

    P.S.- not

  25. AXEGRINDER says:

And another thing, Walt Harris is done. I don’t give a flying fuck if he went to the Pro Bowl last year.
He straight stunk. When his guy caught the ball last night, HE WASN’T EVEN IN THE FUCKING PICTURE!!!Pack your bags bitch and take the whole coaching staff with you. I could beat the fuck out of someone right now. This shit is affecting me deeply.

  26. unknown niner says:

I said to get rid of Walt Harris because he is attacked to much now that nate clements is here. Harris hasn’t done anything to shut anybody down because he is now the weakness in our secondary.Shawntae needs to play better than he is now. Alex Smith needs to get someone to teach him how to throw a football. The announcers even said his mechanics are all messed up which causes the ball to be over thrown. I agree though the offensive line is terrible, but SMith isn’t helping himself either. This team needs to rebuild and get rid of alot of players and weaknesses.

  27. AXEGRINDER says:

Rebuild, rebuild, rebuild. Thats all I’ve heard for the past 7 friggin’ years. I thought we were finally past that shit.

The coaching staff has let this team down this year. The problems are still so very simple, yet no one has an answer. Extremely bad playcalling and lack of execution are the coaching staff’s problem. This team looks completely unprepared week after goddamn week. The recievers need to walk around with a football glued to their hands. It’s like this team does absolutely nothing all week to gameplan. They come out and look like a monkey fucking a football the whole game.

Scott McCloughan said on KNBR tonight that it’s a new problem every week. Get your head out of your ass, buddy. You don’t know shit if your saying that crap. IT’S THE SAME SHIT GAME AFTER GAME.

If you ain’t part of the solution then your part of the fucking problem so get the fuck out and let someone else take a turn driving this team into the ground.

  28. AXEGRINDER says:

I’m pissed that this situation with the niners is making me curse so much. Maybe I should go to church or something.

  29. Medford says:

These r some quotes from this confused team I found at different sites.

I was by my man by 4 or 5 yards,” said Jackson, covered by cornerback Marques Trufant on the play. “How close was that? I got my hand on the ball. It was low. We should never be in that position. I was 5 yards behind my man.”

How about all those passes u couldnt catch Jackson?

Nolan feels that the offensive line has done a good job and continued to state that they just can’t get any rhythm.

WTF good and the niners offensive line dont go together.

Nolan will not consider any coaching changes on offense at this time. The team needs to create more rhythm on offense.

Rhythm they need a little more than that.

When asked why tight end Vernon davis was not used more in the passing game, Nolan stated that he should have been. He acknowledged that Davis is a playmaker and they just failed to utilize him.

Offensive coordinator Jim Hostler and QBs coach Frank Cignetti were defensive backs in college.

    No wonder!!!!

I used to trust Nolan but he seems very lost and confused.

  30. eze says:

Doesn’t every OC that leaves us become a stud coach or OC? We need playmakers!!! (I do agree however that our OC really, really sucks)

  31. Xpnsivwino says:

eze,,, I say Young was THE best QB the 49ers ever had. Or any team for that matter.

  32. eze says:

    Xpnsivwino
Did you not watch Joe play? He was better than magic. That was when we would take the field and opposing teams already lost. I can’t tell you how many times I would watch games that we were loosing and not panic because I knew that Joe would get us back. Don’t get me wrong I LOVE Steve Young I just think that Joe was a little more refined. I think what I admire most about Young was his heart and determination to win

  33. ninerfaithful4ever says:

well all i want for christmas is limas seed for the niners in the draft i say we hang on to alex smith for at least two more seasons and if he is a bust then draft colt mccoy

  34. mike says:

These kid admits he cant throw or play, yet coach nolan insists on playing him next sunday. Guess we start our plan to loss next game on mondays perfect it on friday and accomplish it on sunday, then start preping for next loss.
Nolan get a QB that can throw the damn ball heck go get DORSEY OR RATTAY OR PUT ROBINSON IN AS QB LET HIM RUN .

SIR NOLAN THE LOSS ON SUNDAY WILL FINALLY PROVE YOU ARE CLUELESS.

  35. Douche Bag says:

check out sfgate.com. Smith misses practice and admits shoulder and arm pain is hurting his performance. He is pissed that 49ers – read Nolan – are mispresenting his injury when then say he is 100 percent or that his shoulder is not effecting his performance. Get the Dil-do out!

  36. Mark says:

The niners are suffering quite simply from a lack of good management upstairs, lack of enough talent on the field and poor coaching. Every week we see this pathetic excuse of a team show us how the entire organization IS NOT getting it done.
Their draft recruiting has been just plain lousy.
Frank Gore is a keeper but Smith is turning out to be a complete waste of money. Unless this franchise retools and does some serious personnel changes…their future is dismal at best. They’ll be lucky to hit .500 every year. In their current state, they are a complete disgrace to the proud legacy forged by Montanna and Young. And I, as a niners fan wince in pain everytime they take the field because I know whats coming…another horrid performance and an embarrasing loss.
