Expect Lots of Andy Come Sunday

Well it’s official. Trent Dilfer will be starting against the Giants this weekend. Damn, it’s unfortunate the Golden Girls marathon isn’t this weekend.

“Trent will start this week against the Giants,” said Nolan. “He has taken most of the reps over the last two days of practice, so he gives us the best chance to win.”

Best chance to win? Seriously, Nolan I’d love to have what you are smoking. I think having no one at quarterback gives the 49ers a better chance to win. I’m going to try and stay positive and by doing that I have come up with a list that will make me feel better going into Sunday’s game.

  • Dilfer throws better on the East Coast. (He arms feels better in the Eastern Time Zone.)
  • Dilfer plays better early in the morning.
  • Dilfer has great success against teams that he hasn’t played for.
  • Dilfer is undefeated against teams whose coach and starting quarterback have three letters in their first name.
  • Dilfer hates the color blue.
  • Last time Dilfer faced the Giants he beat them in the Super Bowl.
  • Dilfer would never fall down on his own to give Strahan a record sack.

Memo to Andy, rub down your leg.

    I second that.

  2. AXEGRINDER says:

I get so goddamn frustrated watching this pathetic offense take the field and go 3 and out series after goddamn series.

But I do it anyway….maybe like a dumbfuck, I don’t know. Every game I go into it thinking “if they do this, they can win. If they do that, they can win. Our guy matches up well with their guy.”

I’m tired of the offense getting worse, not better.

Everyone in the world can see whats wrong with this offense. Yet the coaches can’t see it. It’s bullshit.

Yet I’ll still be watching week after week hoping not to get pissed off.

  3. xaos50 says:

Yeah I agree… You know what sucks is we have Deep playoff calibur Defense and Special teams. If we just had like the 12th ranked Offense we would probaly be 3-2 or even 4-1, maybe.

  4. Lowrance says:

Okay??? Who’s in charge of the funny titles at the top?

‘Where’s Druckenmiller When You Need Him?’

Reaching back a little aren’t we? Too funny!

  5. Medford says:

Another reason to know we will lose that fat Tony Seragosa will be on the sideline. We never win when he is at r games….. :*(

  6. Ryan the 1st says:

Yep, there is NO EXCUSE FROM HERE ON!!! If we don’t win then something isn’t working and something needs to be changed and that something better be on offense because everbody else is doing their jobs. The Defense can only do so much when they are on the field for 80 percent of the game!!!! You’d think the offese would bring SOMETHING, ANYTHING TO THE TABLE, but they can’t even make two consecutive first downs!!!

  7. Bob In Pacifica says:

As bad as this looks, the Niners do have a good defense. Maybe the Giants will make a lot of turnovers. The Niners haven’t been beneficiaries of many turnovers, so maybe they are due.

Also, the Giants had a short week.

Also, maybe Dilfer will be allowed to throw a forward pass beyond ten yards.

Also, maybe some of the dead meat on the offensive line will sit down.

Also, on any given Sunday, if you’re not playing the Patriots, you can win. That is, if you’re willing to take chances.

Also, I think there will be a “Law and Order” mini-marathon on cable Sunday morning.

  8. Ryan the 1st says:

Here, read this…the thing is…with every game Smiley plays he is decreasing his worth because he keeps putting up a piss poor performance…

  9. razoreater says:

what really sucks is i have to pay to watch this offensive trainwreck-i have nfl ticket just so i can watch the 49ers

  10. Ryan the 1st says:

ouch, that really stinks. I think if the niners are going to pull it out of any game it has to be this one. The Giants secondary IS NOT good. If we can’t get it done against an alright NFC SECONDARY then we are screwed!!!

  11. R,Craig33 says:

I don’t normally try to predict a niners win but if the D pressure eli then there’s no eli to plaxico connection which is that’s what they been living off of the last couple of games but if they can do that and atleast hold the giants D for half of the game they will win buy 7 to 10 points, JUST WIN BABY, GO NINERS!

  12. samra says:

theres this cool tracker on this link which is under the 2006 team stats bar and what u can do is see how a team does withought a certain player…according to it without plaxico the giants would be 29th in total offense

  13. Lowrance says:

Ouch Razor, that does hurt. I had the NFL ticket 3 years ago, because I’m down in Monterey. Got rid of it because every regular season game was on some channel down here. (Some preseason weren’t)
Let’s hope for a first half like last years game with Seattle. Lot’s of turn overs that gets us points!!!

  14. McLovin says:

Move Nolan to DC and Hire a good OC and a new fucking head Coach. This no offense it getting to be re-goddamn-diculous!!Im a ND fan also,so I’ve seen some of the shittiest Offense this year.Niners blow the game.

  15. McLovin says:

Niners 3-13,if we can beat the Rams.Thats a big IF.Trade Most of our picks for two first round picks and get Desean Jackson and Malcom Kelly,no more No-name WR’s please.

  16. Andre says:

Niner pudnit the bottom line is that all you guys need to still be faithful and we can only deal with what we have..stop crying over what you want like babies and go with what you got…and i never said i thought we were the best team but every week i beleive we can win

  17. Ted says:

    Ted…

Good work. I am going to read some more on this….

  18. Tom says:
