Damn guys…you’re so fired up about the insider linebacker’s starters! I am a B Moore fan and his has been missing tackles left and right. Maybe by getting demoted, will make him reevaluate his situation. Smith has been a decent LB for the Niners. Show some respect. For all you Willis fans that want him to start now, he will be starting a lot sooner than later. Smith can still bring something to the table!

On a side note guys, I have a problem that maybe you all could help me with. I have trouble wiping my ass. I always seem to leave a little brown matter behind if you know what I mean. Sometimes I will stand up and wipe from the side. Other times I wipe like I am snapping a football. I even will wet the toilet paper sometimes before I wipe. At lunchtime, he said he was going to speak with head coach Mike Nolan because he was thoroughly fatigued.
Jacobs’ wife, Christine, gave birth to 6-pound, 9-ounce Taylor Jr. on Saturday around 2 p.m. Then, Jacobs rushed to the stadium for the game. He did not warm up and he did not take part in pre-game stretching. He slept in the locker room right up to game time.
It was a very emotional day for him and his family. If you recall, Taylor and Christine lost their 10-week-old daughter, Taryn, to sudden infant death syndrome in October. He stayed up with his wife all night.
I asked Taylor why he went to the game Saturday evening against the Raiders.

Gilmore stays boys, he streches out to make the difficult catches while in traffic, he does a decent job on kick returns, and has had a solid camp, and two good pre-season games thus far. Gilmore brings speed and experience to the team, no way he gets cut. I wouldn’t want to make the WR cuts.
since the eagles just released Trotter let me ask you this….should we pick him up or leave well enough alone. Remember he plays middle linebacker….but I think the eagles play a 4-3 defense.

No one on here is saying they don’t like Brandon Moore. I like Moore, but also like Nolan’s move by benching him. He needed a wake up call. That’s all this is. No more and no less. Derek Smith is on the decline. I don’t think you’ll find anyone in here who dosen’t think that Moore is more talented than Smith. Nolan is telling Moore that if he doesn’t start playing up to his potential he can sit his ass. Bravo! This is not a candyass sport. Our guys do not need to be coddled. I don’t give a fuck if it hurts his feelings. It’s cut and dry. Either play every fucking down like it’s your last or go fucking home. Half assing it will not be accepted, nor should it. Honestly, I really think we have above average WR corps. This is a really dramatic improvement from what we had last year. And Jason Hill hasn’t even been a variable (rookie WR), he should get better as the season goes by. I would love to see DJAX, BATTLE, JACOBS and VD. And we discovered an interesting option with Delaine Walker. We might see some 2 TE sets. Again, I really think this will be a break out season for Alex with all those options. Do any of you believe this also, or am I just over excited about everything?

How is Marcus Maxwell fairing out. Do the coaches like him?
Do you think we will keep Marcus, and does he show any promise in camp. I hope we don’t let him go. He’s a Gem waiting to be found. Jacoby Jones I think will be rookie of the year. This guy was a find for the Texans, much like our past third round draft pick B.O. I knew Jones would be a good player!
Ryan, relax about the playing time. We have depth at most positions, and really running back is an area where you don’t want your starter getting too many reps. Frank Gore isn’t playing, so we’re okay. At the same time, we need practice and reps for our offense and defense to gel, and it’s better we use these games that don’t count for that opportunity. It’s also an evalution process. If we are really going to make a playoff run, we need this time to evaluate. We can’t afford to do it after we make mistakes and possibly lose games early on.
About Jeremiah Trotter, he could be a good addition. He is a great tackler, and could be a good fit in the 3-4 alongside Patrick Willis. He is a great run stopper, but he lacks in coverage. He would be an upgrade over what we have, but there may be reasons that we don’t know about as to why Philly released him.
AS far as WR’s, I am favoring Gilmore over Williams at the moment. Gilmore has done better in the return game and he has shown he can stretch the field better than Williams. However, Williams has done better in the passing game so far this pre-season, and he can also return kicks, he just hasn’t shown top speed in doing so. He dances a bit much and kills his acceleration in doing so.
About Maxwell, he hasn’t dominated those third string defenses so far. If he wants a roster spot, he needs to show he can destroy those 3rd string corners and get seperation. For now, he’s just another big body that can run and catch. There’s a whole lot more to the position.

Bro… What are you like 15? Obviuosly you have a hard on for Brandon Moore so no matter what anyone says, Brandon Moore is God in your world. Yea he had a good not great season last year, yea he had some real standout games last year. Im not sure if you have ever played linebacker in the NFL with one eye, I know I havent, actually I know maybe no one has. Translation…. Not took fucking easy. Well guess what, our leading tackler and run stopping MLB a year before that had to go through it. Yes I know he is aging and not as fast as Moore is, but guess what he makes up for it in “knowledge” and “experience”. Oh and by the way, his eye has made a full recovery this year and so far not only myself notices the improvement from last year, but so does the (Head Coach) and his right hand man (Mike Singletary). But your evaluation is probably the more sensible one. Conclusion….. Moore has simply been out played so far, by a highbred rookie and a seasoned vet. Go Niners….

Hey Jerry! Been good man… I’ve been reading posts and all I have just been busy lately haven’t had time to post myself. I don’t really have time now but the season is near and I am getting excited… As far as Maxwell, all the talk was too good to be true. The way they talked about him looking like T.O. I knew was far fetched, but I was hoping he’d look like he could contribute somehow. The level of play in Europa was really bad though. It was worse than the 4th quarter of pre-season play because all of the players were guys that wouldn’t have made any team’s roster if they weren’t allocated to Europe.
Ryan… The reason that McDonald isn’t starting is because he is a penetrator as of now. With time, he should get better at two-gapping, but as of right now, he can contribute on third downs with his passrushing skills. He is quick off of the ball, but he has to be able to contain his gaps in our defense. Currently, Marques Douglas, Aubrayo Franklin, and Bryant Young do the best job of that. The younger guys should get there with experience, but it is a dirty job that requires a lot of discipline, and younger guys tend to be inferior to veterans in that area. That said, he did do a solid job against the Raiders, but Douglas is a proven player at that position, whereas McDonald still needs to earn his stripes. For now, he is where Patrick Willis was a few days ago, a starter on 3rd down packages.

Its Jacobs over Gilmore. Jacobs has a great camp apparently. He is cuurently the thrid receiver. I find it highly unlikely he drops to seventh position in the coming weeks. Plus, he is three years younger than Gilmore and has more potential. Sure, Gilmore had a decent game, but what string defense was it against? I like the idea of Patrick Willis taking over Moore’s spot now that I think of it. Anytime there are battles in camp/pre-season it pushes the players. Moore has had a couple bad preseason games and now he realizes he can’t slack off and he has to come back like the player we all expected. Hopefully it will be B-Moore and P-Will come opening day.

I’m not against signing him to a one or two year deal….however, I say no to the two year deal if it is going to hinder our chances at getting Larry Allen OR Smiley back. Also, the one splash in free agency that we should make next year is either a quality player to replace BY or someone who is a quality O lineman. It all depends on what direction we go in the draft.
However, I am not sold either way on Banta Cain yet….there is a possibility that they just haven’t put their cards on the table so no one has a clue of what the niners are going to bring this season. Teams don’t exactly open the playbook wide open in preseason.
